Bomgar is a cloud-based or on-premise secure access and remote support solution suitable for businesses of all sizes. It offers remote support, privileged access and vault modules within a suite. Key features include customer support, help desk administration, internal IT support, collaboration, monitoring and auditing.

The privileged access module allows users to create accounts and monitor and record sessions in real time. Users can set up a secure remote connection to view and control remote desktops, network devices and servers. Other features include session forensics for compliance, cloud infrastructure management, authorization, notifications and credentials management.

The vault module is an enterprise password manager that enables users to store passwords, find privileged credentials and share admin passwords. Bomgar offers integrations with HP ArcSight, Lieberman Software, ServiceNow, Splunk and more.

It is available for purchase with a monthly subscription. Support is offered via live chat, phone, online guides, video tutorials and emails.

Helpful and Reliable Tool

I used it on a daily basis to assist customers with their devices whenever a technical problem was presented. I had the ability of sharing screens with clients so I could see what the problem was and that way it could be resolved in a timely manner.

Pros

I liked the concept about sharing a screen with a customer so you could troubleshoot any kind of technical issues and have full clarity of what the situation is really about.

Cons

I can honestly say I didn't dislike anything about the app.

Bomgar in an iPad app

Overall using Bomgar has been positive and customers are able to show me bugs in real time, which is worth a lot. I'd recommend using the product.

Pros

This has been helpful in solving many issues. On an app my company built. Customers can reproduce the issue in real time as we watch what they are doing.

Cons

At times it can be a little "buggy" meaning, sometimes it doesn't render the image properly.

Best tool for remote support

Its extensive innovation in the field of remote support solution has made it possible to solve issues without dispatching our techs

Pros

Firstly, I'm happy for the security it promises. At the end of a season, there is not any evidence left. Another thing is the ability to get more work done in the comfort of the office. Support can be extended to customers anytime, anywhere. Bomgar has helped us and our customers in saving travel to and costs.

Cons

An early problem we encountered was when we were having difficulties getting back into a client's computer after rebooting.

My Experience with Bomgar

I use Bomgar in business.

Pros

Bomgar is super easy to use and very helpful. In my company we use it to connect home workers with tech support. Being able to let a remote techie request and control the agents computer saves tremendous downtime and cost that would otherwise be incurred without it. It is definitely my go- to at work when I am having technical issues with my computer. I just log into Bomgar and a tech gets my permission and take over and solve the problem.

Cons

I really don't have a negative for this software. If I just had to split hairs, so to speak, I would say the chat window is very small and can be a bit difficult to see. Outside of that, there is really not a negative I have. Keep in mind that I am on the receiving end of things. I can initiate a Bomgar session but I don't have to actually maintain the software or do anything technical with it.

A functional remote desktop connection system that is reliableq

A good experience overall. The system is reliable and works like a charm. I found that my customers were able to follow the instructions to log into Bomgar so that I can access their desktop. I hope that Bomgar continues to develop the product (and especially it's UI) to make it ever greater.

Pros

That it is easy to setup, and simple to instruct how customers can log into the system.

Cons

It can be a little difficult to navigate through the UI to get it to do what you want it to do (such as transfer files to and from the remote desktop). The user experience does need a little more work.

Excellent Customer Support tool

Bomgar has been a rock for us working in almost all situations when we needed to do remote support on a system. The agent queuing features are nice and it has integrations with some ITSM systems as well. You would do well if you chose Bomgar as your remote support system.

Pros

Great Single use remote support tool. You give the users a site and a code or a link and they show up in your queue to connect to their computer. It is that simple. you can then pull up their screen transfer files chat via text or audio with them and work on the issue at hand. Hands down a great tool for helpdesk support of remote users. no more running to their desks or asking for screenshots or can you tell me what you see on screen. This system works with Linux, Windows and Mac computers so it is robust and complete.

Cons

It tends to be a little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for and you get a lot with this system!

I have been using it for years. The functionality I like the most is setting up groups with jump clients installed so you can gain access with admin level remotely whenever its needed.

Cons

It can get confusing to share the client software and a user install to get an elevated session.

Makes dealing with end users a breeze!

Pros

I like that no matter the skill level of my end users, I can gain control of their screen and fix their issues fast and easy. It also allows the chance to show and teach rather than just tell them.

Cons

I'm not sure if this qualifies, I do get annoyed with the timeout messages when I'm asked to logout or close the sessions. Could be my employers settings doing that. Not sure how many active session we're allowed to have open that may drive this.

Great remote support tool

Needed to help user do something remotely this was great sent them an email with a unique link And I was able to securely connect to their workstations and drive for them.

Pros

Easy to maintain, great for remote support, can also set up jump sites to other computers

Cons

That sometimes I would need to hard reset the server to make it work again.

Pros

Setup and configuration is straight forward. Traverses NAT and Firewalls very well at customer locations. The client software is reliable and light weight.

Cons

The pricing, I feel like they would sell a great deal more product if they had a small business version that was more competitively priced. I also wish they put the pricing directly on the website.

Great software

We replaced Teamviewer with Bomgar in my industry. Bomgar is a much more secure solution and also allows for accountability when outside vendors work with us.

Pros

I like the fact that this software is very easy to use. It is also very helpful that it records the activity when a machine is being worked on remotely.

Cons

I find the software very hard to manage across multiple platforms.
