LogMeIn Central is a cloud-based endpoint management solution that enables IT professionals to monitor and manage their endpoint infrastructure. Key features include user management, antivirus management, system health monitoring and computer grouping according to location, access and permission.

Administrators can manage endpoints with a single-view dashboard where they can monitor device status, manage alerts for connectivity and deploy software. LogMeIn Central also helps admins create groups for different sets of endpoints, define control permissions, enable two-factor authentication and extend computer access. It also provides functionality to scan networks for malicious files and eliminate malware from a central console.

LogMeIn Central offers mobile applications for iOS and Android devices that enables IT professionals to monitor network health remotely. The solution is available on an annual subscription basis that includes support through email and phone. Users can also access the online knowledge base and community forum to address basic inquiries.

I like most that it gives me the ability to work from my home computer. I am able to log in within about 2 minutes and has saved me numerous trips to my office. I've used it in both my accounting and sales job and it really does keep my work info at my fingertips. Another great thing is that it gives our CPA the ability to remote in to get any documentation she needs without having to contact me.

Cons

Set up is a little demanding but their customer service reps helped. It is also a little slow, there is a definite lag especially when opening reports.

Logmein- a paid version of remote desktop

More functionality than chrome remote desktop, as you can transfer files. I also like the ease with which you can switch between monitors and the capability of blacking out the screen at the host computer.

Cons

It is slower and choppier; also, making the screen big enough to read clearly on the remote computer remains an issue. I'd like to see this a little faster, a little smoother, and with greater resolution.

Easy to navigate through the software and to link up with other desktops. Overall, I like LogMeIn but they need to make improvements for UX.

Cons

The pricing for the lack of improvements is a bit disappointing. I expect, with price increases here and there, for a software to continue to upgrade user experience. I don't see that happening here.

LogMeIn is a wonderful piece of software that is very easy to install, and requires little to no maintenance. I just wish that they would stick with one price and stand behind it.

Pros

Fully functional command prompt, registry editor, event viewer, task manager, service manager, etc., WITHOUT having to take over the PC you are working on! This makes troubleshooting and running scripts on remote computers extremely easy, as you don't have to wait until off-hours since you don't have to take over the actual computer. It's got a great system for organizing your computers into groups, and it's HIPAA compliant with all of the auditing and tracking required.

Cons

It's very expensive, and they keep raising their prices. They've raised prices by 3 times over the past 3 years. I expect this will continue.

The wake on lan feature is great and the web browser access is really convenient especially if you need emergency access and you don't have your computer/laptop with you and need to use someone else's machine.

Cons

There is very little to complain about it feature-wise. The only downside is the price which made me look for cheaper alternatives.

Cons

As time has gone on the price has continued to increase at unexpected times, sometimes there was grandfathering, and sometimes there wasn't. Never know when they are going to hit ya...

Pros

I've been using Open Voice for a while to conduct my conference calls and its been a great product. I even get an email summary after my call that I can record and track if necessary

Cons

We have had issues in the past with people getting on the conference lines, but that has been minimal.

Overall, we found LogMeIn easy to install and connect. Employees then have to create a LogMeIn account and designate their computer as the host computer, including creating and sharing a passcode, which they share with the administrator. However, once the program is installed, the credentials can be saved to speed up the login and connection process for future sessions.

Cons

The initial setup process is more involved and complicated for the host computer than it is for the admin.

I like that I can set a code that gets emailed to me that is required before logging in, since there are so many attempted logins from other countries. There’s a lot of personal information on my computer, so obviously I would like to keep it that way. It’s great that it’s free, but that goes without saying.

Cons

When I called customer service about all of the attempted logins from around the world, they were very unimpressed and said not to worry about it. Also, it would be a lot nicer to be able to use a keyboard and mouse just as if you were sitting at that computer instead of manipulating the screen around.

When traveling and working out of the area, LogMeIn keeps me connected to my desktop and sever. Once everything is downloaded, you are good to go! Very simple log in.

Cons

The price did go up, but considering what you’re receiving, I understand. To be able to stay connect while away is truly priceless.

Logmein enables you to remotely log into computers. It works well, even allowing you to import/export files directly (which is not possible through Chrome remote desktop). It works a little better than Chrome as well; faster, smoother operations, and more natural when working with multiple screens

Cons

The additional functionality of logmein, when compared to Chrome remote desktop (a free option) was not enough for me to continue using it; unless you're a heavy user, I suggest sticking with free software

Once you download the software to your home computer, you can access the office server in minutes! We can view the office schedule and other information and utilize our dental management software from home. Very convenient.

Cons

Once in awhile, there are connectivity issues, or the server kicks you off when the remote access computer is idle too long. It is a bit frustrating but happens only rarely.

I have used many remote software applications and LogMeIn is hands down the most useful and versatile player in the market. There is nothing I have found the program incapable of accomplishing and I am constantly learning new features that save me time and my clients money. It would take hours to relay all of the benefits of LogMeIn for the real world IT professional.

Pros

Instant access to multiple networks through one account interface. Easy setup and deployment of software packages and scripts for multiple scheduled maintenance tasks. File transfers are simply drag and drop convenient. With a wide range of collected data at disposal, workstation health is displayed for all aspects of computer function. There is an option to remotely power on and off computers and manage services without the need to remotely take over the computer.

Cons

The only change I would like to see is to eliminate the disconnect that happens momentarily while updating the LogMeIn client software. (It automatically reconnects without intervention.)

When connected, either via a desktop or mobile phone, it's fairly easy to use. It retains credentials and makes connections easy. Its mobile phone interface is among the best I've seen.

Cons

First, the cost. They've taken a product that at one time was free, then paid for, then bumped the price to where it's not cost effective vs. the competition. Next, multi-screen monitors are not nearly as easy to navigate between as other competitive products. Other less used features, like remote printing or file transfer are relegated to their even more expensive product, Pro. Last, it takes longer to establish a connection than I think it should.

Gives me goof remote access to my computers when I need it. But it is the same remote access that a dozen other products do.

Pros

Good software, does what it needs to do, easy to learn and easy to install, gives me remote access to my computers and let's me print remotely

Cons

the software keeps on getting more and more expensive, they try to give discounts, but it is way overpriced. Also support is not north American based and they seem to not really are or know the product that much.

It's features are nice and it handles multiple monitors better than most apps of similar design. It's IOS apps are terrific

Cons

It disconnects---a lot. This doesn't appear to be unique to a machine/network--it just times out very quickly despite changing those settings. It's easy to connect again--but frustrating to do so every 10 or so minutes.

Pros

Ability to remotely access other devices frees up a great range of different possibilities like working from home. The ability to use your smartphone to access different devices is super useful because i always have my smartphone on me

Cons

The is a pice to pay unlike other similar products and doesn't allow for online meetings. This is the only main issues I have found with it other than it looks very complicated to new users.

I love how easy it is to use! With other remote desktop connection apps, you have to look up specific VPN credentials. With LogMeIn, the initial setup for a customer site takes place and the work to connect each time after that is minimal.

Cons

Sometimes there seems to be quite a bit of a delay in LogMeIn. i.e. a server will appear occupied by a team member when it hasn't been accessed for hours. Usually refreshing the client resolves this, but it can be annoying.

One feature that caught my attention is that you can customize your personal meeting background with your company logo or a picture of yourself which I find is really fun. Especially when you have web meetings with coworkers that are located in other offices across the country that have not met each other. I feel the call is a little more personal and great way to connect a face to a voice.

Cons

I personally did not experience this but I have had coworkers message me during the meeting that all of a sudden their audio went out and they had to drop off and rejoin the meeting to get it to come back on.

It allows me to easily remote control many computers (based on our licenses). I use it as needed.

Pros

It is fairly easy to use and does everything I need it to do. I don't use many of the more advanced features.

Cons

It is now a paid service, whereas when I first started using LogMeIn Central, it was free. Since LogMeIn Central is no longer free, that also offers me the opportunity to explore other remote control applications, free or paid service.

It is consistently stable and manageable for my company. I can literally triple my support of other clients with this software.

Pros

LogMeIn is a super stable remote access to other computers that I have rarely had issues with in supporting my clients. I am able to access any of the 50 computers I work with instantly, an many at the same time from either the web portal or desktop application. LogMeIn also includes several IT functions that allow sharing of files & remote rebooting of the client computers.

Cons

The cost is higher than some competing remote access software, so unless you have a lot of remote computers you work with you could probably find a cheaper solution. They also don't have as many extra IT functions with my plan that I can find with a few free offerings out there, such as auto-reconnect once the remote system has rebooted, or a remote Windows Task Manager.

Easy and simple remote access to various computers. I can pretty much do whatever I need to do - even if it's across multiple networks.

Pros

The ability to access all of my computers that I need to remotely. Great tool if I need to work from home, need to be on the factory floor, or am trying to access one of my computers between two different networks.

Cons

Sometimes there is quite a bit of a lag time involved that can be a little frustrating to deal with. Also, sometimes the screen resolution is not that great and is a little bit pixelated. Trying to connect to a two-monitor setup is also challenging at times.
