Seems like they are continually trying to improve and I appreciate that. I still prefer to use this EMR over others I've used in the past like Suncoast or HCHB.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5

#### Pros

The HOPE dashboard made the transition from HIS easy. I personally find the EMR to be user-friendly. They have made significant improvements over the years to the forms and tools available.

#### Cons

While they are very good at fixing problems once identified the timeline on fixing has been slow at times.

#### Vendor response

Hi Angela, We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. And we're super happy to hear that Hospice Tools is working for you and your team, especially the HOPE dashboard. We are always working to do better and am glad you see that :-) Thx Angela!

It’s a good experience, but I don’t know why other Hospice chaplains I know don’t do near the documentation we do

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

All patient information is accessible and easy to access in real time. Can access what other coworkers are doing. That way before going into a visit I am knowledgeable about any change that might’ve taken place between visits

#### Cons

Some things in Hospice tools in Edocs are redundant. It would be nice if our care plans could self populate after visits. So, we didn’t have to go in and redo everything every visit.

#### Vendor response

We’re so glad Hospice Tools helps you stay informed and connected in real-time. Luv hearing that the transparency helps fill in any knowledge gaps between visits. Grateful for the meaningful work you do every day. Thank you, Richard! — The Hospice Tools Team

Whether I'm looking for patient, account, or sales rep info, Hospice Tools delivers the information to me in an easy and understandable format.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I'm a before and after user, meaning I gathered information for my job before hospice tools and currently use them to get the same information and more. I love working with this program. It's easy, uncomplicated and accurate. No matter where my search leads me, different states, sites, specific accounts, Hospice Tools gets me there.

#### Cons

It meets my needs in an uncomplicated, accurate way. Before Hospice Tools, I was an expert in digging for and gathering sales information on my own. I knew what I needed and went on a treasure hunt to find it. Hospice Tools has anticipated my searches and provided the information. What more could I ask for?

#### Vendor response

Hi Jaye, Your review made our day — thank you! 😊 We absolutely love hearing how Hospice Tools supports your work both before and after implementation. The way you described your “treasure hunt” days versus now really captures the heart of what we’re trying to solve. We’re so glad the system is helping you navigate multi-state data, accounts, and sales info with ease. That kind of clarity and efficiency is exactly what we aim to deliver — and it’s awesome to hear it’s working for you. I have used hospice tools since its inception and found it to be easy to use. That's important for me. I don't have to search hard for any document to see, the tabs are all there for all disciplines and I am able to look at notes from others if necessary.

When there is no lag time, it is quite easy to use and navigate but when there is a lag, which is more often than not, it can very frustrating and add to more overall time of working

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I’m able to use it on my work phone pretty easily. Finding my unfinished notes is also convenient and easy to access. Once on a pt profile, the tabs make finding where I need to be easily accessible without having to hunt down the docs/notes I need.

#### Cons

The lag time can make it difficult to work. Also, I typically have to input a calendar event multiple times in order for it to save

#### Reasons for switching to Hospice Tools

Changed employer. SmartCare was the only option at last job

#### Vendor response

Thanks for your thoughtful feedback, Molly! We're glad you find the system easy to navigate on the go. Regarding the lag and calendar saving issues - have you updated your app to the latest version? ### Hospice charting refined!

Hospice Tools is easy to navigate and utilize. Hospice documentation is intense and Hospice Tools makes that reality a little bit easier, with a user friendly platform.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The ease of documentation. One stop to access needed patient information, medical records, medications, etcetera, as well as document patient visits/interactions. Hospice Tools is incredibly user friendly, coming from someone who is not super tech savvy!

#### Cons

I really don't have cons to report about Hospice Tools. I will be reaching out to tech support though to inquire about a more refined death report; one that would refine the report to only RUSH referred patients, for my bi-weekly metrics reporting.

#### Vendor response

We’re thrilled that Hospice Tools is incredibly user friendly and helps make hospice documentation more manageable—even for those who aren’t “tech people.” Always here to support you! Thank you, Andrea! — The Hospice Tools Team

Overall, it’s a fairly easy system to use. Some tweaks would make it better in my opinion. It is a pretty ubiquitous system and I think doing focus groups to add/modify features woudl benefit all hospices across the country.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Hospice Tools is generally easy to use and has quick drop down menus and free form fields to add more info.

#### Cons

It would be good to have “last entered data” next to the fields to remind what was filled in for the last visit note. There are some typos in the forms but nothing that obstructs the use of the program.

#### Vendor response

We’re glad you find Hospice Tools easy to use and that it's working well for you. For last data and pulling that data into your current form, click the i-button next to the field and you will see that data there. For changes, our documentation is customizable. We also take feature requests. Please submit any requests to your admin and if approved on your end, your admin can submit to us to implement. Thanks, Pamela! — The Hospice Tools Team

Very good company to use as a new hospice company. Have a lot of experienced hospice personnel on my team that like it overall better than other EMRs they've used, minus the lack of usability in the calendar and the lack of easily looking up data on a patient without having to run reports.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

The team of people that get you set up are amazing and always available to help you moving forward and are quick to make sure our team has answers.

#### Cons

The lack of ebilling training. We felt very lost on how to use the ebilling area of the system and still a little confused by all the buttons and uses in the system. Also wish there was more of a "trend report" type data on the main screen of each patient to show quickly what the patients recent measurable values and data have been for documenting tracking and doing recert.

#### Reasons for choosing Hospice Tools

The customer service reps were very trustworthy and the product looked easy to use.

#### Vendor response

Thank you for the thoughtful review Janelle. We've take note of your issues and will add this points for internal discussion. We're glad to hear the team is delivering great service and that Hospice Tools is easy to use and is working well for you and the team. Thx!

I believed the sales guy who promised all these features. The contract states pretty much covers them if the sales rep offers a certain feature, they aren't responsible.

#### Reasons for switching to Hospice Tools

Thought this would be better. It isn't -

#### Vendor response

After seeing your review I checked with the success team and they report that despite their best efforts you have not gone through a single training session. Out of 70+ 3rd party reviews yours is the only one not 4 stars and almost all are 5 stars. Trying to figure out an EMR entirely on your own, even one as easy to use as Hospice Tools, is going to be frustrating. The points you list are all available: 1. cannot schedule out patient visits - we have scheduling with multiple views and filters & updates to frequencies too. 2. cannot make corrections for clinician to review - Documents can be amended and we have mentor mode for comments and approval of docs. We do not allow you to chart someone else's visit. 3. assessments are not complete, very vague pages - the documents are all customizable and we can add docs. Any "vague" language can be changed. No system is ever perfect and we keep improving, but without any training it will be hard to succeed.

#### Pros

The ease of forms, navigation of the site and easily customisable

#### Cons

No ability to take wound care pics / only upload them. Also no talk to text would be helpful option

#### Vendor response

Hi Alyse, Thanks for taking the time to review Hospice Tools! If you use our mobile apps, you can open a wound document and take a picture of the wound in the document rather than taking a picture and uploading it into the document. Additionally, all the text boxes do allow for talk to text functionality. You can download our apps from the App or Play stores for either Android or iOS devices. We're very happy to hear how easy it is to use and how well it works for you and the team. Thx!

### Hospice Tools for Volunteers

- Overall rating: 5/5

- Product usage: Used daily for less than 6 months

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Ease of use is what I like the most. For volunteers, the visit note is easy to complete and submit, which means volunteers are more likely to complete their visit documentation in a timely manner. I also appreciate the customer service with Hospice Tools. The 1:1 training to learn the program was helpful to me. In my experience, the HT customer service team typically responds to questions the same day. I even asked them to create a workflow for volunteers. (Yes, Hospice Tools is not complicated, but I like to give the volunteers written instructions as well.) I was surprised that they were able to create the workflow for me the same day. With another EMR company I worked with in the past, I sometimes didn't get a response to question until a week (or more) later and I had to create my own workflow to give the volunteers (for a program that wasn't nearly as user-friendly as Hospice Tools).

#### Cons

I've only used Hospice Tools for a short time and, so far, I haven't had any cons.

#### Vendor response

Thanks for the super-awesome review Peggy! We're happy to hear how easy Hospice Tools is to use, the great support you're receiving, and how well it works for you and your team. Thx!

### Company switched and pleasantly surprised

#### Pros

I love the ease of use for charting! The checkboxes make it a quick option for a fast paced work day. I am more inclined to get my daily charting completed on a timely manner since it no longer feels like a hassle. Also like that a reviewer can send back a note with a comment and can be checked out. Very helpful.

#### Cons

That visits have to be entered with specific times instead of generally assigned for the day. I would prefer an aide document for each assigned patient to appear on my Home Screen as well.

#### Vendor response

Thanks fr taking the time to review Hospice Tools Kaitlyn. The notes have days/times to mark when the visit was made as that info goes to the timesheets program and also goes to reports - such as capturing visit frequencies, and claims, where visit details are required by CMS. Having it in the document is typically much smoother than having to track and enter that information separately. The documents can be triggered to appear on your dashboard the day of the visit - if whoever schedules visits uses our scheduling feature, documents can be selected within the calendar to show up on your dashboard the day of the event. Glad to hear that overall the charting is easy and smooth and that Hospice Tools works great for you and your team. Thx!

It's hard to find anything to complain about, really. One of the narrative boxes on the IDG note for the spiritual care is small.

#### Vendor response

Thanks for taking the time to review Hospice Tools LeeAnn. For the narrative box, or other form changes you might want, plz submit a form customization request through your admin who can, if they approve the change, send the request to our support team who will customize that form for you. We're happy to hear how easy to use it is, the great customer service, and how well Hospice Tools works for you and your team. Thx!
