With functionality for employee record keeping, PTO tracking, recruiting and more, Built for Teams offers a Web-based HR platform ideal for small- and mid-sized companies in the U.S.

Along with detailed digital records of all company personnel and an interactive, shareable organization chart that’s always up-to-date, the platform features I-9 and employee agreement tracking. It also offers detailed employee and company metrics on turnover, demographics, compensation and more.

Collaboration is the focus, as Built for Teams allows multiple users to share and shortlist job candidates for open positions. Employees can access the system as well to submit time off requests, view their PTO balances and more.

Custom fields can be added to employee profiles for added flexibility, and equipment tracking ensures that any laptops or other office equipment is accounted for with each employee.

Company directories will also stay updated and vacation accrual rates can be set at an employee or organizational level. Pricing for Built for Teams is based on a per-employee, per-month basis.

Best PTO Platform Out There!

I've used many PTO management software, and Built for Teams by far surpasses all of them.

Pros

Ease of use for admins, ease of use for employees.

Cons

Not a big fan of the layout of the org chart. Would like to be able to customize the layout.

Easy Navigation

As an end user of Built for Teams, all I need it to do is keep track of my time off and compensation. It doesn't require too much information from the user, which is nice.

Pros

It's easy to know how much PTO & Vacation time I have throughout the year, in days or hours.

Cons

There doesn't seem to be any issues with the software so far.

The overall view of your days broken out is really helpful. I also like the alert feature that signals the appropriate people about your request.

Cons

No app! I have found myself trying to submit a request via mobile and having a hard time. An app would be great!

It's VERY easy to keep it up to date and the same is true of your personal pages. Cons

Its mostly used for PTO, but every other piece of information in there is not used or even updated. Since its not linked to our internal system its more or less a simple PTO platform since everything else is useless.

Easiest way to request Vacation

I have been able to track my vacation, and time off with ease.

Pros

Very easy to use, I just pick the days I want off on the calendar and it populates and send the request to my manager.

Cons

I felt like it should have come with a video lesson, but did not.

Easily being able to see current PTO and time off history at a glance.

There is a salary and benefits tab, but there is no information in there. They are blank. Also the PTO doesn't update automatically. I'm assuming someone has to manually input it because currently it shows that I haven't accrued any PTO in 3 months.

Liz, thanks for the review. If your company chooses to not enter salary and benefits, unfortunately those features will be blank. Built for Teams can absolutely do automatic accruals but your PTO is set up to accrue once per year on January 1st. The "accrual" you're seeing 3 months ago was your initial account balance (looks like you recently started with your company). Your next scheduled accrual is January 1, 2019. If you have any questions or concerns about this you can reach out to one of your account administrators for clarification. Built for Teams can support whatever accrual frequency they choose!

BFT Review

I enjoy the software for the most part but I wish these changes would be made.

Pros

The easy functionality for our employees. They are able to log-in and request time off/put in for sick time, etc. It is helpful because it isn't something I have to manually enter anymore.

Cons

I dislike the request process. I would prefer that it would allow you to go down to the minute so it's easier tracked. I would also prefer it had the option to mark for tardiness. I use the unpaid tab for that but you have to modify the balance every time.

I also dislike that you cannot modify something once it's put in/date passed. I shouldn't have to e-mail for adjustments - I should be able to change them as I'm the admin.
