Founded in 2007, QCommission is a hybrid cloud-based and on-premises sale commission solution for small to midsize businesses and larger enterprises. It helps users calculate their salespeople’s compensation.

QCommission allows users to calculate commissions as well as commission periods. Sales commissions are calculated based on the performance of salespeople. With its automated sales commission tool, administrators can calculate complete payments at anytime.

QCommission is capable of creating complex commission plans, such as a split commissions for multiple representatives, varying commission rates by attainment, varying commissions by products and more.

QCommission can operate stand alone, and it can integrate with Salesforce, Sage, Oracle Fusion, Mircosoft Dynamics and QuickBooks. QCommission complies with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.

Cons

Pros

The program is easy to use and I get multiple accurate reports. I obtain valuable information from these monthly reports to continue my monthly processes.

Cons

We are still in an old version, but I hope in the near future we can move to the newest version.

We are very satisfied with Q commissions. Each month we can confidently calculate the sales commissions, and if any issues arise and we need to make a change the Q commission team is available, accessible, and ready to help.

Pros

Q commission is user friendly. The customer service team is reliable and accessible, and does the job.

Cons

Sometimes phone communication can be difficult for some issues that arise, but honestly, with the utilization of Go to Meeting we always are able to come to a solution.

QCommission is easy enough to use on your own but still gives you a lot of control and the ability to set up many different plans for your sales reps. Integration with QuickBooks is seamless. Their support staff has been excellent to work with and always gets back to us in short order.

Likes Least

The initial set up can be difficult to do on your own. Fortunately, the support staff was very helpful and worked through all of it with us.

Recommendations

Commission software requires a balance between plan flexibility and ease of use. Before picking any one program I would recommend knowing the fine points of your commission set up.

QCommission is absolutely the best commission calculating software add-on available for QuickBooks. It is extraordinarily flexible and can implement just about any commission system you can imagine. I have used it for several years and they have implemented a number of different commission systems for me. The staff is very helpful when requesting assistance or professional services and their fees for such services are very reasonable.

Cons

Well, the flexibility can lead to complexity and I don't think we would well be able to implement our commission systems without relying on Cellarstone's staff to do it for us.

Once you are set-up, this is very simple to use. I upload data once or twice a week and my sales staff can keep track of their progress without making a calls to me. Tech support is quick with responding.

Cons

Set-up and explaining how we worked took some time and there were many tweaks. Lots of calls to tech support. Some of the reports could be simplified.

Easy to run Commission reports and less of manual effort

Pros

It is user friendly and if in case of any issue, the support team was good. The turnaround time in delivering the reports was quick. Q Comm has a good support team.

Cons

Integrating our accounting software with the program takes a long time if the file is huge. Other than that I don't think of any cons in the software as such.

I like that it integrates with Quickbooks and I can have different payee structures and statements for everyone.

Cons

This app is so frustrating to use if you have any kind of changes or new people to add. Each time I have to have support add them and everything else gets screwed up in the process. Then they expect I'm at their beck and call to troubleshoot. This product was supposed to make my life easier not more difficult and stressful. After almost a year of constant problems I will be looking for another solution.

Everything I needed in a calculator for my complicated commissions plan it satisfied. It has reduced my time for payroll from calculating the commissions over a period of at least 24 straight hours to minutes. It is a miracle product for those who have commissions to pay in payroll.

Pros

Everything! It is a very valuable tool to me and my company. The ease of use and functionality makes my life so much easier in paying my employees their commissions.

Cons

When there is an error in importing, finding the problem that created it. It is usually a manual error on our part entering the numbers and splits in QuickBooks.

Going from a manual process with spreadsheets monthly and quarterly to QC.

Pros

The ease of use and understanding of what it offers. I was able to learn and use this product day one once implemented. The team I worked with was great. Easy to work with and very experienced in their abilities to build our plans to how we wanted.

Cons

The only downfall is that I would not be able to set up all commissions structures myself. For some that are more advance I will need to go to QC and it will be an additional cost.

It has made my job significantly easier, rendering several weeks of work down to just a couple days a month. I have found that it is highly accurate, and often the only mistakes are due to user error alone.

Pros

- The ability to use the data integration module to import bulk data templates from insurance carriers
- Automated calculations of commission splits
- Easy to edit splits and payees
- The custom report that tracks the premium periods of commissions paid
- The customer service that comes with the software

Cons

- Initially, I found the software to be tricky to use. The data integration error codes often do not explain in basic language how to rectify the problems. Once I used the software for a few months though, it became second nature to understand what they meant.
- The standard reports are far too much information. I no longer use the reports out of QCommission - I export data to Excel and create pivot tables that summarize multiple rows of transactions for a given customer and product into one number. It is a much more logical commission statement than seeing every single $0.05 adjusting transaction from the carriers on it's own row.

Life altering as far as the task of getting a true commission earned and being able to go back and review history and also to stand behind the report knowing that it is accurate.

Pros

Ease of use. Versatility in reporting presentation and flexibility for future needs or changes in comp plans and additional reps. Very easy to drill down on transactions and make changes. I send the report in both Excel and PDF which is a very nicely laid out report. Very easy for the sales rep to understand and follow.

Q Commission really met a void we had with our Quickbooks software. We now can smoothly and efficiently calculate our monthly sales commissions for each sales rep with ease, consistency, and accuracy. We have had some more specific needs over time and they have always met our new requirements on a timely basis much to our satisfaction. They are always available for customer support and I like the utilization of Go to Meeting in order to communicate our needs and questions clearly and more personally. I would highly recommend Q commissions to business associates with the same type of need. I have dealt in particular with Siva a lot who has always been a pleasure to work with. Thanks Q Commission.
