Tabs3 has been my bread & butter so to speak. I do not sell or support any other products which you might think makes me bias but it's a CHOICE. We all have to make a living and I have been blessed enough to be able to choose what products I want to support that will provide the best user experience. I chose Tabs3/PM back in 1999 and nothing else has ever compared to the company's integrity, support of their reseller channel, end-users and continual updating of the software. Ratings Breakdown 4 Ease of use 5 Value for money 5 Customer support 4 Functionality Pros: Tabs3 and PracticeMaster continually provide excellent support to their end users both directly and through a channel of very knowledgeable consultants who have supported this product for decades. As an independent software consultant for over 25 years, I have had my choices of products to support and hands down, Tabs3/PM is how I choose to make a living. Why? I want happy clients at the end of the day and I know with Tabs3/PM, I'm working with a solid foundation, a proven system, and a system that will grow with the firm. Cons: We all know there nothing perfect. With that being said, the things that irritate me with Tabs3 are minor implementation scenarios that could be streamlined. Having used it for 7 years, I have, and am I am happy to continue to recommend it it other firms. Ratings Breakdown 5 Ease of use 4 Value for money 5 Customer support 5 Functionality Pros: I have been working with Tabs3 for about 7 years, the software has more features than we even use, but are there for larger firms with more complex billing systems. In the instances when we run into a tricky situation, the phone support is fast and knowledgeable. You get a real person who does in fact know how to solve whatever issue you are having. The system is stable and we very rarely run into any software issues. Cons: The one situation that is a little inconvenient is that not all of the screens that are available in the Tabs3 client exist in PM. Consequently, users who are primarily using PM, have to specifically log into Tabs3 to make billing-related edits to the client profile that are not accessible in PM. Reasons for switching to Tabs3 Timeslips as a software becomes unstable as the user count increases, causing processing issues and delays, including administrator time in addressing the instability. The company (STI) is meticulous in producing bug-free software, and they are immediately responsive to all support questions. The user interface is intuitive and the work-flow is easy. The process to email bills has reduced my billing time from 2 days to 1 hour. Too many great features to list them all. I give this software my highest recommendation. The UI updates they gave were basically masking what the end side of the product functioned off of. Ratings Breakdown 5 Ease of use 3 Value for money 3 Customer support 5 Functionality Pros: Tabs3/Practice Master was one of the best Accounting and Bookkeeping products I have ever used. The reality is, it is an old software platform that requires an on-site server to function; They attempted to utilize the acquired SAAS program and said it would function the same way, however it never did. As a hard-installed (on-site) install, it is absolutely amazing. However it still needs drastic updates to it's overall platform and a rework of the entire backend. Cons: They refused to update their systems beyond the Windows 98 based platforms. It nolonger worked with 64bit systems, and required on-prem services. It is an old (while very efficient) product, and needs to be updated to a post year 2010 platform. Vendor Response Christopher, thank you for your review. We consistently work with 64-bit OS for firms who wish to stay on-prem, but we also offer Tabs3 Cloud, which has the rich features and security that firms have come to expect from Tabs3. Recently released Version 2026 also sports a more modern look and we have additional enhancements for Tabs3 Cloud coming soon.
