TimeSolv is a cloud-based project management and billing solution specifically designed for law firms, but it can also be used by accountants, consultants, architects, and freelancers.

TimeSolv integrates project management features such as time tracking and assigning tasks with billing functionality, allowing users to track billable hours and budget in real time. It also provides case management features and document management tools to help organize and store data. Users can utilize a document automation feature for auto-filling standard formatted documents.

It offers a full suite of billing functions, including invoicing, batch billing and integration with LawPay, allowing users to pay their bill online. Users can upload images of receipts to invoice files. TimeSolv also provides reports so law managers or practitioners can track their billable hours over weeks or months.

TimeSolv offers two-way integration with QuickBooks, as well as integrations with Dropbox and NetDocuments. It is compatible with most major operating systems and web browsers, and offers Android and iOS apps.

For users moving from Timeslips, they offer full, historical migration of data.

Timesolv is so easy to use, it took one hour of tutorial, and I was off and running!

Pros

Timesolv has made billing automatic. When I receive payments via credit card, Timesolv links with my credit card system and automatically records the payment.

Cons

The billing invoices for Timesolv are a little difficult to follow. The bottom line is easy, but when there are trust payments, it is difficult to follow how those payments are being applied.

Navigating within TimeSolv is extremely user friendly. You can utilize the time entry calendar to track staff time with just a glance.

Cons

Reporting features are extremely basic with no ability to customize. Would like to have a detailed WIP report to track matters on hold, having to run 2 or 3 reports to capture time, expense and payment details is extremely cumbersome .

I like that the program is cloud-based. It is easy to log in and out.

There are many things TimeSolv cannot do, i.e. you cannot get a list of payments and how they were applied. TimeSolv can do things, but a lot of what we need is not in the program, so you have to download reports in csv or excel, then download another report in csv or excel and then write a formula to connnect the 2. The training is non-exsistent.

Recommendations

Keep looking. There are other programs out there that might suit your firm better.

The software is really intuitive and doesn't try to do to much. I just needed something to generate invoices, track A/R and keep up with expenses. This fits the bill for a nominal price. Anytime I have questions they are really quick to respond and solve any issues (typically user related).

Nothing, it does everthing I want. No issues with usability or the cost.

Recommendations

Use the free trial period and you will be up and running in a matter of minutes. Definitely the best software I tried.

Most places the client name or the number can be entered and the information will come up. There are a couple of places that you can enter the client name but not the number or you have to scroll through your list. Would be great if typing the client name or client-matter number would be an option throughout.

I held off switching to TimeSolv for a long time because I was familiar and comfortable with Timeslips, although I was not enthralled with it. When I finally made the move, in less than a week, I was pleased to be set up and fully ready to use TimeSolv with 17 years of Timeslips data converted into the program. Customer service is excellent and the program is easy to use. I wish I had made the switch years ago.

Cons

No complaints. My only reservation is that I wish I had made the switch sooner than I did. Complacency with an inferior product often delays progress.

Pros

I can keep track of what is happening on my cases in the "notes" file for each case, and I have an easy to use and update list of all of my clients and all of their multiple cases.

Cons

It is a little bulky to maneuver from page to page, and there are not enough spaces in the contacts section for telephone numbers. You have to click through several pages to get from area to another. An additional field for a home phone number would be a help.

Pros

Easy to learn/use; excellent customer service; makes billing clients a simple process; you can set up different commission percentages for each attorney for each client/matter - program automatically calculates commissions.; you can email invoice/statements directly to clients with one click. Save time and money with Timesolv!

Cons

Timesolv takes their customers feedback very seriously. There is very little I can say I like least with this program, as they have added/changed many things to accommodate us and other customers. Wish it had more invoice templates..that's about it

I have a small consulting firm. My first decision was whether to hire someone to handle billing or find software. I decided to give software a try to keep control over billing and manage costs. After reviewing lots of competing software, I selected TimeSolv because it meets my needs best. I am a consultant with multiple clients for which I have multiple projects for each client. Each project also has multiple tasks. I needed a software that could track time and create invoices by Client - Project - Task. Most competing billing software don't allow invoicing and tracking budgets to occur at the task level. That function sold me on TimeSolv. The program is intuitive and the support service is fantastic. I am sure there are many more functions that I don't even know about that will make my billing more efficient.

Cons

I am still learning. Unfortunately I have not had enough time to learn all the ins and outs. I am sure the software can make me more efficient. One con is that I often have subconsultants that I bill for. With TimeSolv I need to add them as a user, even though I am not entering their time. It would be nice if there was a function to include lump sum pass through sub-consultants.

TimeSolv handles time keeping and billing, without overloading on functions that aren't useful or only tangentially related to that core functionality. Invoices creation is intuitive and simple. The interface provides useful, real-time information. Adding client and matter information is easy. The platform is both flexible and feature-rich. Having used other time-keeping and billing solutions (and having interacted with their customer support teams), TimeSolv's customer support is simply nonpareil.

Cons

Certain integration and information sharing flow between the desktop widget and the main system can be improved. The inability to adjust invoices on the subtotal level, rather than only the matter level, is a draw-back.

The fact that there's no software management requirements, updates or other related obligations passed along to the end user makes it extremely useful to a small firm such as mine. There's no need to employ IT personnel to keep it running!
