Customizable, user-friendly, efficient database for all our nonprofit needs

Pros

Having a cloud-based, streamlined, protected database with all our records in one place; email that integrates with database; apps like One Drive and Sharepoint that are integrated. Has made day-to-day work much more efficient than before. The ability to create templates for correspondence that we use over and over. Some automatic, some that can be personalized, but all for faster, more efficient communications. Customizable to our very specific needs and requests. The team, lead by [SENSITIVE CONTENT], worked very hard to understand our needs and help us know ourselves which workflows would work best, even when we ourselves weren't quite sure with this new database. To them, it was important to get it right for us. Customer service rocks! [SENSITIVE CONTENT] continue to be very responsive, including quick to respond, train, and troubleshoot issues. No question during the set up process, during migration, or after we went live - including now - is considered too dumb. Always extremely respectful, with a "I'm happy to help you" attitude, which makes it easy to approach them for help. The ability to see how everything would work, practice flows, and give feedback BEFORE we went live. Then, the ability to make adjustments once we did go live if needed. Overall, Give Life is quite user-friendly. I'm not tech savvy and I didn't want to be crippled by a CRM I couldn't effectively use. This one is easy, even for me, to navigate.

Cons

There's a few things that are wonky for us but not sure how they can be solved. For example, many of our families use one email for multiple people in the database. This makes for a bit of an inconvenience for us sometimes. Would be much easier if each person had their own email, but not possible in our situation and probably not a problem for most other organizations. No drop down menus for states and countries to keep them consistently written in our records. Templates aren't always easy to change, although the Give Life team is willing to change them for us as needed. Overall, while no system is probably perfect, we scouted long and hard for the CRM best suited for our particular needs and this one was by far the winner with it's ability to do what we needed and for a lot of complex requirements on our end.

Needed a secure, cloud-based system that could handle all our various needs, keep our records in one place, and make our work more efficient.

Easy, intuitive & customizable

We had a very positive experience from the customization of our database, to the support provided throughout the rollout, to the overall quality of the software itself. We are very pleased to have this in our arsenal and it had made the tracking of a complex, fast-paced project not just manageable, but truly painless.

Pros

This software is very intuitive and user-friendly. The ease of use cut down on training time and ultimately enabled a fast and smooth rollout. It replaced slow, tedious, and unaccountable reporting mechanisms, so it addressed all our needs.

Cons

The volume of default-included options in drop-down menus makes them look a bit messy. It would have been preferable if the inapplicable options could be removed; however, once you know what to look for within the lists, you don't really 'see' the other options as much anymore and it has less impact.

Reasons for choosing GiveLife

We liked that the database was easy to use, cloud-based, and customizable. It had many features that were pluses while remaining intuitive and streamlined. Additionally, the customer service was top-rate.

A powerful platform especially for contacts and projects

GiveLife has been an asset to our non-profit organization, Volunteer MBC. By tapping into the power of Dynamics 365, it really makes it possible to streamline our work.

Pros

It does a good job of putting things into a non-profit context and allows us to manage our contacts effectively, including our current and prospective donors, partners, employees, volunteers and others. Having everything in one place and navigating smoothly between them has been important.

Cons

I think improvements can be made to make this product easier for beginners with less technical skill. Looking forward to seeing its future development and benefiting from it immediately.
