NeonCRM software


NeonCRM by Z2 Systems, Inc. is a cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) suite for small to large nonprofits such as animal welfare groups, human services, and philanthropic foundations. Applications include marketing and outreach, fundraising, donor management, membership management and more.

Online fundraising capabilities help users keep up with changes in donating trends by enabling them to accept donations from multiple channels. Built-in online fundraising tools allow for email blasts, automated tax receipts via email, event registration tracking and automated membership renewal management.

Customized online donation pages mimic the look and feel of existing user websites, offering the ability to create branded donation campaign forms. Customizable event pages can also be configured to match existing websites, and users can send automated event notifications for registered attendees.

Online and offline donations can be added to each constituent record, including the amount given and a complete history of all past donations.

    It is an attractive software in its interface (LOCK & FIELD) in addition to being very, very flexible, many functions, tutorials, webinar, help center, it is a bit complicated at the beginning, but understanding it exceeds expectations. Superior in the creation of customer database (DataField)

    Cons

    Integrations / Interfaces with other systems / networks are not at all friendly / efficient, managing accounts / Events is cumbersome, very personanizable, (flexible) ... but such flexibility confuses, you need highly qualified (expert and functional) staff to get you out 100% to the investment ..

    Neon CRM has good customer service with friendly and helpful representatives. The CRM does have basic integration capacity and CRM functionality. They will waive the monthly fee for PayPal Pro if you use it as your payment processing gateway.

    Cons

    This software is not remotely intuitive. It requires hours of watching video training guides and reading supporting documentation to become sufficiently oriented to the software. The design is very basic and unaesthetic, and the pricepoint is high for the value. There are extra fees for data migration, advanced support, initial consultation and the use of other modules.

    It's nice to be able to keep donors in one location and run reports on efforts. Gives a good overview of funds received.

    Cons

    A little complicated to set up your criteria for forms and profiles. Limited design abilities without adding additional services and costs. Does not offer webpages to promote the Foundation, so additional web services must be contracted from another vendor.

    Best non profit CRM on the market for small- medium sized operation

    It constantly surprises me with how well they have designed features. There is a lot we haven't explored yet. The Help and Support site is great, especially the video modules and the webinars. We don't pay for support as the few issues we have had they answer in a day or so with helpful answers. The one exception was an obscure bug I found in the 'new" workflow process. It was fixed in the next release.

    Pros

    I did an indepth analysis of non profit CRM systems and this came out on top. We could not afford anything expensive so the price was right. It has all the finctionality we need so far. It did not have "installment due" automated reminders but a few months ago they added workflows which are unbelievable powerful tools to not just send out reminders based on various triggers but you can perform multiple actions based on the trigger. The communications ( eblasts) is very well thought out. In fact we are about to stop using MailChimp & save their fees

    Cons

    So far we have not had great success in using it for event registration and processing. There are two many payment screens and we had s few credit cards declined. But to be fair, we did not dig into the reasons. We reverted back to Brown Paper Tickets but are looking at other products for our complicated multi-table registrations.

    Gabriella’s customer service was excellent, and only rivaled by her knowledge of the product.

    Pros

    The membership capabilities of this program are great, as is the capacity to personalize. Additionally, having so many features offered in one software package is a huge plus.

    Cons

    My organization just purchased NEON’s software, but so far have not had issues with customer service, as Gabriella was very responsive and knowledgeable.

    Neon's Essentials is the perfect starting point for any nonprofit looking to develop a CRM. It truly offers nonprofits everything they might need, which removes the pressure to upgrade to the next package.

    Pros

    Neon provides their own line of apps along with an open API that allows you to build into the CRM, which makes integration a breeze. Also, a network of consultants that specialize in nonprofit work is available to talk through solutions whenever I need.

    Cons

    While it's helpful to have consultants to provide expertise, it's still challenging to get going. It'd be nice if there was a bit more support in the initial stages to get established earlier on.

    The software is very easy to use. It also has a lot of good features and has been very helpful in helping us track our constituency. I love the automated emails and ability to customize forms and link them to our website.

    Cons

    There are some features I would like to see. On Membership, it would be helpful if this functioned more like a donation where people could sign up to pay a monthly membership due, rather than having to renew the membership every month.

    I would like to have the ability to manually input bank account information for EFT donations into the database. We have donors who prefer to send us a paper form with their bank account information on it and have us input it.

    Neon Rocks

    Pros

    This product ticks all of our boxes. Events management, member & donation management and communications all in one platform. I love the integrations with Quickbooks and Mailchimp too!

    Cons

    Because this is such a powerful CRM database, there are a lot of layers & options. That isn't a bad thing. It's just the nature of the beast. The learning curve is pretty steep. However, the knowledge base is vast. I'm just usually in too much of a time crunch to use it. The helpdesk staff is phenomenal!

    I love that I can run just about any report under the sun. Being able to see my membership data at a glance on the dashboard is also very helpful. Customer service has always been very knowledgable and quick to respond.

    Cons

    There is a huge learning curve with the program. You have to invest lots of time getting to understand the program and how to make it work for you. I wish there was a way for my members upload documents during their join or renew experience as we like to capture logos, headshots and we require they submit their IRS determination letter so I still have to use a 3rd party vendor for that. Also, I was hoping to do away with a 3rd party email marketing vendor, but the email function within Neon is not user friendly and the templates are outdated.

    Even though it has a lot more functions than we need, the functions are there if we would need them in the future

    It has everything imaginable needed for a data base. Service is very quick, most times dealt with and fixed within the hour. Techs are patient and personable.

    Cons

    It has way too much for our needs. Can't learn it all. Sometimes it feels overwhelming. But we are a small business so that could be why we feel that way.

    This would benefit from a built-in testing/preview system that's a bit more sophisticated, but otherwise... It's a fantastic program that has helped our donor and client management SO much.

    Pros

    It has endless possibilities and customizations. The customer service and tech team are readily available to help with issues or advanced HTML/coding and they really made the process so much easier for our agency.

    Cons

    It is occasionally difficult to remember all the different places you have to go to make sure something is completely customized and functional.

    Neon is very intuitive and makes it easy for someone new to the software to learn. We love the donation page because it's easy to see when new ones come in. Email campaigns are awesome and easy to create.
