It’s more than just a donor CRM—it functions as a central system for managing many aspects of our work as a nonprofit. In addition to donor management, we use it to track fundraising campaigns, special events, volunteer opportunities, and relationships with community partners. It also helps us manage information related to our future homebuyers and current homeowners, which has been incredibly valuable in keeping everything organized in one place. The system is intuitive and flexible, allowing us to manage records, process gifts, and run reports efficiently without unnecessary complications. We especially appreciate the availability of reports tailored for affiliates like us, which makes it much easier to provide required reporting to Habitat for Humanity International. What truly sets Charityproud apart is the level of customer support. Across the board—technical support, account management, and accounting—their team has been responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. The platform allows us to manage so many aspects of our work in one place, and the support we’ve received—across technical, account management, and accounting—has been consistently responsive and helpful. That combination makes it a strong, reliable system for our organization. Cons: One of the challenges with Charityproud is that, because it offers so many capabilities, it can feel a bit overwhelming at first. There’s a lot to learn in order to fully take advantage of everything the system can do. I’ve also run into some minor layout and formatting limitations. For example, the “Affiliations” list within constituent records is spread out across rows in a way that is difficult to read because of the spreadout layout. A more vertical, column-based flow without so much space in between rows would make it much easier to read/navigate. Reasons for switching to Charityproud We made the switch from GiveSmart to Charityproud primarily because we needed a more comprehensive/robust system to support the full scope of our work. One key factor was that Charityproud works with our corporate organization and provides reporting specifically designed for affiliates like us, making it much easier to meet required reporting to Habitat for Humanity International. While GiveSmart served a purpose for donor tracking/management and some event-based fundraising, it didn’t offer the functionality we needed for day-to-day CRM management without relying on workarounds. We needed a system that could support not just donor tracking, but also volunteer management, our homebuyer program, and ongoing homeowner relationships—including mortgage-related information. Our client account manager, Cameron, has been with us from the initial trainings and data migration from our old system into Charityproud, to ongoing support today. The platform itself offers a great support center with videos, tutorials, recorded webinars, and an system updates section. But, when we need extra help, Cameron is just an email (or even a phone call) away, always responding quickly and thoroughly. Charityproud is also responsive to system update or tweaks based on customer feedback. While they can't accommodate every single request, they have made modifications to address specific needs, which shows they truly listen to their users. Cons: No CRM system can address every single user need. However, Charityproud makes a real effort to accommodate different requests and organizational needs whenever possible. When I have a question that I can't answer with the online support center, out customer rep has always come through with a solution. Cons: We would like to be able to attach images or documents to an outgoing email, rather than the extra step of creating a link to CP's internal image library. The system's effectiveness relies heavily on consistent and exact data entry, which can be challenging when online donors input "in honor of" or "in memory of" information/addresses in varying formats for the same beneficiary. This can lead to duplicate or inconsistent records that require manual cleanup to maintain data integrity. It would be less cumbersome, if the beneficiary information would autofill when a beneficiary/honoree name already in the system is entered/selected. Sometimes questions come up when I'm building an event but I can typically find the answer in the support center. The support center is very helpful. I also find the access to your account manager when something arises to be very helpful as well. Once you learn how to set these things up, collecting donations is very seamless. Cons: What I like least about Charityproud is the emailing functionality. We would like to create monthly newsletters to send out to our constituents, but Charityproud's email system doesn't allow us to design a newsletter how we would like it to.
