Vome review

PROS

I find this database easy to use. I get the monthly total hours of volunteering easily (which is my main reason for needing a volunteer database) and I find it easy to speak to someone if I have questions or need information. [sensitive content hidden] at Vome is easy to schedule a meeting with. They are also constantly improving.

CONS

I would like to be able to remove volunteers who are no longer volunteering.

Other products were looked at but had too many options and we wanted something simpler and streamlined.

Reasons for switching to Vome Volunteer

The developer was the only one who could make changes, when he left, we were stuck.

Manage Hundreds of Individuals With Ease!

PROS

Vome provides a great platform on which I can easily keep track of so many volunteers in an organized fashion. Once volunteers are registered, they essentially do the heavy lifting by reserving their own shifts, which makes life so much easier on my end as I just have to click "approve"! There customer service too is unmatched, with personal, dedicated care that checks in on you from time to time, showing the company truly has your best interests!

CONS

Not really an issue anymore, but there was certainly a learning curve as the platform was continuously in development when we first used it. However, the team at Vome Volunteer would always be in close contact if there were any issues.

A flawed but overall solid product with excellent customer service

Overall, despite some issues I have with it, I feel it's a pretty good product. It needs some work but I like that the VOME team is always active to answer my questions more often than not within a few hours.

PROS

The ease of doing reports is faaaar better than our previous website. I have zero issues creating volunteer reports for our team and overall it's scheduling system is solid.

CONS

The way opportunities are constructed to me does not create a lot of room for customization. For instance we have tours that our Docent volunteers host but each tour is different and from the user side of things our Docents need to know what each tour is (the school, the amount of people, grade level, etc). The way it is currently contructed I can't add these notes to an opportunity to make it distinct from another so what happens is I have to make a brand new opportunity for every single tour which makes it tedious. A change here would go a loooooong way to make it a perfect program for myself and my volunteers. I will also say the app is buggy and needs work and I have more or less told my volunteers to use their desktop to sign-up now.

Reasons for switching to Vome Volunteer

Volgistics' reporting program is faaaaar too complicated to use and it made volunteer reports a needlessly difficult process to do each month. VOME is VERY simple by comparison and again, its best feature comparatively.

Outstanding Customer Service

Overall Vome makes my job easier! I can quickly see who is scheduled when or look up past hours for a volunteer.

PROS

I like that I can search for particular volunteers and track their shifts. I love that we can get a quick total of all volunteers and their hours. Customer service is the best! I usually hear right back if not by the next day. And Vome is always trying to improve. No one every says " sorry that's just how it is!" Feedback is welcomed and improvements are always being rolled out.

CONS

I think for older volunteers Vome could be simplified. There are still a few too many clicks to get to things and the initial profile setup seems to frustrate a small portion of my senior volunteers. It tends to 99% of the time be user error and impatience for technology for my few seniors who still complain about it.

Reason for choosing Vome Volunteer

I choose Vome because the price was right and it also offered an app that I thought in this day in age would be useful, especially for our high school volunteers.

Reasons for switching to Vome Volunteer

We weren't able to collect data on SignUp Genius: how many hours someone volunteered, how to contact them beyond email, and to go through the schedule there was way too much scrolling!!
