GroupMe Review
I love that many people can join a conversation on GroupMe. I am able to see the conversation that my colleagues are having to improve or community expectations.
CONSI dislike that GroupMe notifies the people in the group about everything. If you change your picture, it will notify the group. If you delete a message, it will also notify the group.

GroupMe for team communication
Group Me has been super smooth. All the parents quickly get use to the functionality and communicate effectively during the season.
PROSHaving every parents picture and name is so much smoother than a group text with random numbers in it.
CONSThe web based app doesn’t always work when adding numbers. Copying and pasting numbers from a list to the app is cumbersome.
Reason for choosing GroupMe
Group Me was more commonly used. Better dialogue between parents.

Workplace chat
Well it's gonna be a lot easier then having to run back and forth to the office or no need to write it down and have to wait for a response and it is perfect for the work place no waiting for service on messages it's instant and everyone can follow everything like they was standing next to you
PROSI like how I can report in my area everything and they will not have to worry about what place I'm reporting about also u can group chat with coworkers and yet then with just one certain one also when I report the person is able to comment or like it to let me know that is what information they was needing. Gonna be convenient for when there not around and they need to know very important information won't forget just opem the chat and let them know asap
CONSHaven't experienced anything I don't like about the app it's very useful

GroupMe Is Fine for Individual Use, but Not Business Use
Some good features, but overall not the best solution to group text management and communications.
PROSGroupMe does have some decent features. It allows you to connect with people using wifi instead of data, and you can include those who don't have the app in chats, and they will still get SMS messages, unlike some other applications that exclude outside users. You can add people based on email or phone number to invite them to chats.
CONSThere is little to no moderation. From a business aspect, we initially used GroupMe to try and unify a work chat for important announcements, communication, etc. However, we quickly found that, without an admin feature, chats would get bogged down, important communications would get lost in the general shuffle, and documents would get missed with the overwhelming amount of messages. There were no pinning feature, no admin moderation options, etc. And there isn't a desktop version to be used in the office setting. Overall I am sure it's a decent app for individuals who are looking for an alternative to a limited texting plan, but not well suited for business uses.
Reasons for switching to GroupMe
We switched from GroupMe to Telegram, as Telegram's software is much more conducive to a workplace environment, and they offer a ton of additional features to help moderate and keep important announcements fresh and pinned in conversations.

GroupMe is a great way to stay connected to field techs and crewmembers.
We were blessed to come across GroupMe for our business. We can update techs and crewmembers while they are onsite without having to call and interrupt what they are doing to get them the needed info. We send it through GroupMe and everyone in the group sees it!
PROSEase of use! You literally add a contact, they accept the invite and you are all set to communicate with everyone that is in the group! That simple!
CONSI don't think there are any features that I don't like about this product. It is very user friendly and works like a dream.
Reason for choosing GroupMe
We chose GroupMe because it was Free to use and allowed us to download to any mobile device!

It's okay if you need a communication app in a pinch
My overall experience with this app was, alright at best. I was glad to move up to using another messaging software for my team. I will say this was great in a pinch when we needed to have coordinated messaging during an event. Other than that not that great.
PROSIt works fine if you are strictly using it as a centralized messaging app for a small team.
CONSIt does not do well on all types of phones. There is an issue with bugs, lagging, and crashing. It cannot handle conference voice or the sending of pictures. Also, it is very difficult to get help from support.
Reason for choosing GroupMe
It was suggested by another member of the team.

My review of GroupMe
For the most part, I liked it. We used it to collaborate with our team. Send group communication.
PROSWhat I enjoyed most about it was being able to collaborate with my team and 1 off message people. You can tag specific people in the group if you are talking directly to someone but within the group. You can also react to others messages.
CONSGroupMe tends to notify you a lot, but that could go either way. If you don’t like this function, just silence your notifications. I’m not sure if GroupMe still does this, but if you did not reply within a certain period of time or a certain number of messages you got kicked out of the group. If this is still a feature that Brittany has, it might be a good idea to change it.
Reasons for switching to GroupMe
Just wanting to try something new honestly

It's gotten us by
It's been good but would love to see more features.
PROSGroupMe was the most universal app for messaging across different phones. It allowed us to invite all sorts of people and create many different groups. It's easy to set up and add people.
CONSIt doesn't have many features. You can't remove messages, edit very well, and long conversations can make some comments get lost in the shuffle. Although there isn't too many other options that are as universal.

GroupMe Review
GroupMe was fine, I’ve used it in several different employment/group scenarios and it’s been helpful. Personally I prefer Slack, but GM was a fine alternative.
PROSI appreciated the ability to send and receive real-time updates on work matters right to my smartphone
CONSI disliked the ability for any of the coworkers to post in our channel. There may have been a setting that wasn’t applied, but my biggest pet level was receiving 74 notifications of employees wishing someone a happy birthday from a work channel.

Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid group chat app for anyone to use!
We’ve used GroupMe for years for communication within our team, which fluctuates in size between about 20-30 people. Again, it’s really quite simple to use, almost anyone can learn it, and it’s a great way to push out announcements, events, promotions, etc to the entire team at once. I like that groups can be silenced, so you don’t keep receiving notifications from groups with tons of people in it, but it can still remain in your list of chats so you can check it as much or as little as you’d like.
PROSWhat I liked most was that it works well for what it was intended for. Once it’s installed and you have your profile, it is incredibly easy to start a direct or group chat. You can also search for chats, or be invited. It is very simple to use for group or team communication.
CONSSometimes inviting people to group chats become a bit of a struggle, mostly when they have never used or installed the app before. For some reason there were times when I’d invite someone via text or other means, and the person would download the app and create a profile, but couldn’t find or join the chat. We always got it figured out, but it just seems like that process should be smoother.

Easy Contact with Students
I do like that I can use the app or pull it up on the computer for whichever is easier for me. I use it both personally and with my students. Always easy to add or delete people from a chat I start.
PROSThis software allows me to get my students' phone numbers and communicate with all of them without them having my personal phone number. I can keep in touch with all of them without the hassles of differences in phone manufacturers. It also stores photos, so I can go back and get them later.
CONSSometimes the notifications turn off without me knowing it and I've missed a few messages that way. Doesn't allow for video chats, so I have to use another app for that.

PROSInstant chat to the group of people and friends for collaboration are easy to use and can send pictures or videos to the group chat.

Group me, and you and you!
Overall, I would say it’s been somewhat of a pleasant experience, but I will say that if I had the opportunity to use a different system, I would
PROSI what I like most about GroupMe is it does what it’s supposed to do. It’s simple easy to use and most importantly free.
CONSWhat I like least about groupme is sometimes when someone is sending you a message, It takes a really long time to get a notification about it.

GroupMe is great for saying something to large groups
Overall, I appreciate the function of being able to rally my entire staff in once chat room on my mobile device. I like that others can chime in and communicate. I overall love the fact that people can "like" a comment in order to show they have read a comment - keeps things accountable.
PROSI love that I can set up many chats amongst different departments at my workplace. I like that I can identify when someone has read my comment, as they "heart" or "like" my comment. I appreciate the ability to silence the app so that I am not disturbed by chatter in the chats if I do not want to be.
CONSI do not like how challenging it can be to get people added to chats. In some cases if a phone number was used for a previous chat group the system seems to have issues with allowing them to be re-added to the group. I found the "on boarding" process to be laborious.
