We've been using the Ooma phone system for our business, and it has truly transformed the way we communicate. Ooma has been a game-changer for our budget. We've seen a significant reduction in our monthly phone bills without compromising on the quality of service. It's a win-win for our bottom line.

#### Cons

I have used Ooma Office for several years, and it has been pretty reliable and the service works well. There was only one day in the several years using it that my phones went down, but it is because I use older Cisco phones that are no longer offered.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It is a better value compared to my local phone company to have multiple phone lines, and they make it easy to manage them on their portal. The features are pretty customizeable as well. It doesn't take much to figure out how to use the portal to setup your account as well.

#### Cons

They still charge a full $20 if you just need a line for a fax machine that doesn't have any other calling features needed.

#### Reasons for switching to Ooma Office

The cost was more with Spectrum and there were zero features. It was just two phone lines.

### Well priced and reliable BASIC phone system.

Overall I am grateful to Ooma. Our previous phone system was down for almost two weeks with no solution in site, and Ooma came to our rescue. The phones were shipped overnight and we were up and running quickly. We were able to set up so quickly because these phones are VERY BASIC. If you need robust features, this is not for you. We now do about 40% of our communications with patients via text and this was not something we could do with Ooma. It's a fact that a lot of people don't want to talk on the phone anymore so for us it's important to meet people where they are. Ooma served its purpose for a while but now we have moved on into the 21st century.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

The product is well priced, I felt like it was overall a good value. We used another internet phone provider in the past which was a disaster, constant outages cost us tens of thousands in lost opportunities, so were worried about stability after that poor experience, but Ooma phones were very reliable with very few outages during our time using the product. Support is easy to reach but sometimes you have to hang up and call back because not everyone in the support department knows what they are doing.

#### Cons

The phones are not at all sophisticated and were not really suited to our needs despite me being very specific about the features I needed. I ended up finding the "best" fit (still not great) by trial and error because there is no one there to give guidance on these things. At least they have a good exchange policy. The dashboard interface is outdated and clunky, making setting up a new phone tedious and time-consuming. There is no integrated SMS or there was not at the time.

#### Reasons for switching to Ooma Office

TPX went down and seemed entirely uninterested in restoring our services. I had to forward calls to my cell phone for weeks while they tried to work it out. They were, in the end, completely useless.

### Affordable VoIP Solution with Good Call Quality

Overall, my experience with Ooma was okay. It’s a good VoIP calling solution overall, especially considering the lower price point compared to many competing VoIP platforms. The system offers solid call quality, useful virtual office features, and an easy way to set up multiple business line phone numbers without a large upfront investment. That said, there are definitely more advanced calling platforms available if you are willing to spend a bit more. Some competitors like Kixie, Dialpad, and RingCentral offer better CRM integrations, more polished user interfaces, stronger call analytics, more advanced AI automation features, autodialing & power dialling features, and smoother workflows for outbound heavy organizations.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 2/5

#### Pros

What I liked most about Ooma is that it is a very affordable VoIP calling app compared to many other calling platforms I have used. The call quality was consistently good, and the setup process for a virtual office phone system was relatively straightforward.

#### Cons

One issue I experienced was around pricing transparency when adding additional phone numbers. During the setup process, I was initially under the impression from the sales representative that there would not be additional costs for adding new numbers. However, when I added multiple lines with different area codes, there was no clear warning or confirmation that each new number would result in an added monthly charge. I only realized this after receiving notifications that my credit card had been charged approximately $14.95 per number. I would have preferred clearer pricing communication and better in-platform warnings before charges were applied.

We operate 2 companies from the same location with Ooma we have a second / separate "receptionist" for the two companies. Gives us a professional first impression for every caller. People comment on the choice of music on hold.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Answer the call in the office or on the APP, same great quality. Never miss a call.

#### Cons

#### Reasons for choosing Ooma Office

Demonstration quality was better. The sales team did a better job.

As a small business it was horrible. We lost business as we never had working phones. We were not able to access voicemails left by patients, patients with emergency troubles on top of that. The customer services representatives if you can even get ahold of any mostly say it is your problem not theirs. A lot of excuses more than correction.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

The only good experience we had was with the sales representative. The idea of their services was great but that is were it ended.

#### Cons

We had their services for 2 months. Were never able to use the devices sent out by them. Were told at one point that an engineer "washed his hands of our troubles." Got charged a substantial amount for cancelling services, services that never worked!

#### Reasons for switching to Ooma Office

Promised better integration with our other communication platform

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Ooma office was very easy to implement, with a simple online interface to control everything from.

#### Cons

The quality of the calls was not always very consistent. Some calls I was unable to hear the other person on the line when they were local and on a hardline. Further, the lack of usable internet on their platform was a short term challenge. For the price, I would expect more.

There is nothing positive I can say about Ooma. They issued me a phone number that didn't work and I spent so many hours trying to correct. They wouldn't credit the bill for the time the phone line didn't work despite initially agreeing to issue the credit. It is impossible to get anything fixed or even to understand the issue. They bill more than the agreed upon costs. They mailed the phone to the wrong address and when I asked them to confirm the address they lied and said they confirmed it with UPS. They sent the wrong phone of a much lessor value and utility. Ooma makes AT&T and xfinity look like they have first rate customer service in comparison.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 1/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

The best thing about Ooma was leaving Ooma to another phone company.

#### Cons

Too many things too list. Ooma issued me a phone number that I requested how I wanted my company name to show on caller ID and they told me they cant because it is not an Oooma phone number despite issuing me the phone number which I proved with documentation they issued to me. The phone number only worked sporadically with the majority of calls getting a disconnect recording which they blamed on the phone company of the caller even though I tested the phone line by calling from another Ooma phone a few times as well as ATT and Verizon all with the same result. It took them over ten hours of calls until they finally admitted to the problem and told me the only option was to take a new phone number after I paid to have literature and website put out with the issued phone number. They would not even refund the money they charged me for the phone line that did not accept calls. They billed me twice for the first month which i wouldn't have noticed if I wasn't having other issues with OOMA. Ooma puts you on hold for about an hour to transfer you to the correct person for help, subsequently, you then they put you on hold again and disconnect you so you need to start over. The representatives constantly telling lies instead of fixing issues. Blaming the issues on everything else instead of taking ownership of the issue.

#### Reasons for choosing Ooma Office

The price seemed fair for their hardware and line cost by a few percent.

Ooma Office is so easy to set up and use - that even I, the most inexperienced phone user, was able to set up my entire office of 5 completely by myself. We have had Ooma Office for almost 4 years and have loved it since! I love that I can easily forward calls to other users, I can port my desk line to my cell phone if I need to step away, I can block calls from spam and unwanted numbers at the click of a button and it is all user friendly.

It took me a while to figure out how to add a new line/phone to our existing account

The primary benefit of switching to Ooma is that I'll be able to take business calls as usual whether I'm in Canada during the summer or in Mexico during the winter. Of course, I would have this benefit with any of their voip competitors also, but regardless. Now that it's finally set up the way I like it, I think I'll be staying with Ooma for a long time.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 2/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I like that I can upload a voicemail greeting, and that I have a lot of control over how to handle incoming calls with the virtual receptionist. In my case, I want the phone to ring 4 times, and if it is not answered to not allow people to leave voicemail, but instead be presented with a greeting. Ooma allows me to do this.I also like that they have both mobile and desktop apps, as I am choosing to use only the desktop app. It starts up automatically and displays notifications when the phone rings, so this is exactly what I was looking for.

#### Cons

Two things. 1. When a call comes in, the call display only shows me the first and last name from my contact list, but it does not show me the company name of the person who's calling. I wish there was more control over what data from the contact card was shown on the call display for incoming calls.2. The customer service is annoying. The good thing about the customer service is that it's easy to get a customer service agent on the phone, and also that the customer service agents are friendly. So they're trying, but the bad thing is that all the customer service agents are incompetent. They don't seem to understand when you explain an issue, and they don't seem to ever know the answer. They always seem to have to do research with you on the spot to find the answer, and even then half the time they give you an answer to a question you didn't ask. Sigh.

I took over phone responsibilities for another small company, which had a virtual 800 # they used for everything. I started an Ooma Office account, bought all their equipment and phones, ordered their service and ported my 800 number to my Ooma Office provided number - all as they suggested. Without delay I started getting hit with SPAM calls daily, lots of them, which are coming from the local exchange number they assigned me. I asked them to change that number, but they wanted to charge me to do-so. Their call quality is hit or miss, and doesn't seem to be tied directly to MY internet quality as I've hooked the hardware straight to the modem and still had bad quality. Thier software, account dashboard and features are ALL amazing - so no complaints there. It was very easy to get running and give the appearance of a VERY large and professional setup, but that is hurt by the call quality.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Very easy to setup out of the box and get running with their config site, TONS of features for something priced so low, very easy to use, LOVE the options, price is amazing.

#### Cons

My two biggest issues have been call quality and spam calls, both of which COULD be issues from my end admittedadly, but not likely. I've got a very fast internet connection, and had no spam call issues before switching to ooma office. After the switch, I get 15 to 20 robo calls per day, and when I take calls I generally have to speak quite slowly so that words don't drop. Also, their tech support personnel leave a bit to be desired and take days to get back to you, IF at all, and only give you partial answers.

#### Pros

We have used Ooma for several years now and it has served its purpose as our "main" number. Since our office is fairly virtual and we typically deal with customers via email and online meetings, we just needed a phone and Ooma is a good option. Set up was super easy and has been mostly maintenance free. We have customers in both the US and Canada and this service allows calls from both and there is no additional per minute charge when calling Canada. The Virtual assistant, who answers calls when there is no one to take them, was easy to set up and seems to work most of the time. You can create your own recording to answer the calls as well as use the automated voice service.

#### Cons

While it was easy to set up, we have had a few connectivity issues. Some of it is unpreventable - with a VoIP phone service you need internet, and if that goes out there is a problem. But there have been a few times where the Ooma server was down and we weren't notified. Also there is a function that allows you to have automated withdrawals to pay for account overages. Sometimes this service would not be working and they would cancel our conference bridge subscription without notice. We have used the conference bridge service for a while now and it is mostly reliable, but is most affected by this funding/billing defect.

Worked elsewhere and every change had to be made by technical support. Love being able to alter the call flow based on changes to the business. Much quicker and cheaper to do it yourself.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Great low-cost business phone system. Easy to set up call flows and add new team members or groups. All call are directed to the receptionist first and then to the rest of the office.

#### Cons

Initial Ooma phone purchases are expensive but you cannot be the value for the monthly service.

### Great phone system for a small business

Ooma office is great solution for small businesses that are looking for an easy to use, affordable option where you can manage your communications all in one place.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Very affordable, allows you to listen to voicemails through email, has a desktop app for text messages, call logs and faxes, you can forward calls to your cell phone or download the cell phone app to use wherever you are. Faxes though email and texting through desktop is probably the biggest plus for us. We also use their virtual receptionist to set our operation hours and set away messages.

#### Cons

The desktop app is pretty glitchy. We are constantly having to click on force reload in order to get our newest text messages to populate (instead of them just appearing on their own as they should). If we do not do this we risk missing a text message.
