They were willing to help at the last minute which was a big deal to us.

Cons:  *Not being able to do a negative ROA on a customer's account. Not being able to add multiple stores to an employee's security setting.

The support staff is knowledgeable and quick to help or research an issue. The top tier support team knows the ins and outs of this system.

Their people have shown me time and time again that they actually care and do their best to overcome anything and everything.

The level of detail in the reporting for this software as well as the ease in which it allows me to track and re-order my inventory is amazing.

However, every time there is an upgrade to fix all of the current problems more problems are created.

Pros: Retail Star 10 is very intuitive once one becomes accustomed to all of the new features. Phone support is outstanding.

I upgraded from the free Retail ICE program years ago. The customer support was great helping with the upgrade and the monthly fee (no, not free anymore) is reasonable.

Retail Star offers a great, easy to use retail software program with a fast, easy POS system to operate the registers and wonderful back office operations so that we can focus on being retailers.

If I had it to do all over again, I would have bought something else. The same negative comments I have read here sound like a broken record.

Retail Star is very frustrating and costly for us. We had to run a lot of reports outside of the system just using raw data.

This software is great for a growing company as well as any business not matter what size.

I can't even print charge account statements for in-house charge accounts. Their management response to my numerous complaints is simply to ignore me.

The integration between the POS and the accounting module. The add on of the IStar for our eCommerce has been great.

The reporting is great - easy to use and there are a lot of different reports to help manage inventory.

It would be difficult to imagine a retail operation that is more complex than Tobin’s, especially when you add the fact that we also provide first class pharmacy services.

Once SKU’s are set up, it is so easy to look up vendors and products quickly. We use the integrated credit card processing which works seamlessly as well as the customer loyalty key tags.

Went to Quickbooks since their accounting was so weak and the bridge was a challenge. Stopped using iStar many years ago due to lack of features.

Countless error reports, Error messages, Random shut downs, Polling/communications issues leading to additional incorrect reports.

The customer service and tier 2 are weak or do not have any power to solve customer issues.

Have been happy with the improvements. Main improvements I would like to see is reports with subtotals when downloaded and a more robust quickbooks integration.

The lack of knowledge from the help desk is frustrating.

Talech POS does not work with credit cards consistently , tech support is clueless.

Customer support has been super, fas,t efficient. The software is easy to use and set up was great.

It's ease of use makes it perfect for our small store. What brought me to Talech was the ability to manage inventory and now the new integrated 2.0 is exciting.

Once you have figured out how to use the software it is fairly easy to use and you can customize it to your specific needs.

Easy to use many choices to choose from equipment wise and their support is amazing well worth it.

The worst things there were thousands of dollars which were not deposited to our account because of their 'bug. We accidentally found it out.

It has improved greatly in the last year. We'd like to see some integration to view the inventory across multiple stores simultaneously.

I was surprised at how easily we were able to expand and control our in-house systems. They have become so feature-rich over the years.

Overall my experience is poor. I was sold on this program,  that it would do everything I needed for my business.

Super easy to set up and all I had to do was send them a spreadsheet and they entered most of my info for me.

Updates are sometimes required for the software to work, of which, we receive no notice.

When I have trouble with my internet connection and it get dropped after it hits the gateway, there is no way for me to determine that the charge went through.
