High-end custom remodeler, new to the product and love it so far.

Ease-of-use

There is only a very small learning curve if you are comfortable on computers. I am no tech genius, but I can figure it out.

Functionality

It needs better budgeting (estimating) functions. The calendar could be easier to use in gannt view.

Product Quality

The quality is very high, and the product is well-thought-out. BuilderTrend feels like a well-run company considering the amount of support offered.

Customer Support

Ou rep has been really patient and helpful. After just a few meetings, I have a great understanding of the product.

Likes Best

The mobile app is so easy to use. It takes about one minute to record a daily log from your phone. My Tech Rep is awesome and so helpful! It's going to be very helpful and professional to have my clients involved in the software and seeing what's going on, even from a remote location.

The budget (estimating) and calendar (schedule) modules are slightly lacking. I heard that soon there will be updated budget software that will allow me to build an estimate that could be shown to the client, that will be nice. Also, the calendar is pretty good but could be easier. I've used many different schedule softwares but find that SmartSheet is the best/easiest out there. Check it out and you will see what I mean. I need to be able to modify the schedule in gannt view without opening an activity and edit more like a spreadsheet. It's much faster for those who know how to run a schedule.

Recommendations

Give it a try. It's low risk considering that there is no contract.

Getting started with BuilderTrend

Ease-of-use

There are a lot of features that take a little bit to remember, but actually using them is very common sense for the most part.

Functionality

It covers everything from start to finish with the build. We might like to use the client login more if it had a few more options and a better layout.

Product Quality

It's a quality product. I can tell that thought went in to making it fit best with their target market.

Customer Support

Fantastic. Highlight of their business. You get a dedicated team member to completely train you on the product.

Likes Best

Honestly, their service is top notch. They had a dedicated team member available to answer my questions at any time. That same team member also spent two hours walking me through every single feature of BuilderTrend, step by step.

Likes Least

I can't think of anything that is hugely important. The interface that clients can log in to see their home progress is pretty minimal and not extremely user-friendly. I say this is not hugely important because we really don't use it much anyway. That said maybe we would if they added more features and a more attractive layout for the customer.

Recommendations

Ask for a trial and try several out. BuulderTrend is what worked best for us.

The system is built using logic, so it's easy to find your way around and get what you need done. Training helps to fine tune everything

I like all the tabs so you can get to exactly the information you are looking for.

Functionality

We haven't been able to determine if or how we can combine it with our QuickBooks software without having to build or rebuild the database.

Product Quality

The design is good. I only use the software occasionally, but I was able to navigate to what I needed immediately without assistance.

Customer Support

Customer support has been great. Any time we have an issue, they are on top of it.

Likes Best

The software is easy to use and navigate. I also like the ability to export to Excel.

The interface with other software is unclear or unavailable.

Recommendations

Take into account all the functions you want the software to do and what other software you want it to give or take information from.

There is quite a bit of time invested on the front end for data entry with vendors, project info, etc. I don't believe that is any fault of the software, but it just comes with the territory.

Recommendations

Give this one a try. Talk to the training folks at BuilderTrend. They will walk you through a demo, and then you can see if it's a good fit. For me, it is.

It's been very useful.

Ease-of-use

We have trained a few of our staff, and we find the daily logs most useful, and using this example, it becomes easy to use after a few days of use.

Functionality

We will require additional reports, but the advantage of keeping project documents for all to view daily logs, sending mails to relevant team members, and the website branding all greatly enhanced our value and efficiency.

Product Quality

It's good. And a very good value for money. The quality of options and access with passwords to users and their ability to view is brilliant.

Customer Support

They've been available and the online videos great.

It's a great information manager and project documentation organizer. The access to all team members, including the owner, gives value to the service provided by our company.

We are still exploring the reporting format. Hence a system of summarizing a monthly report is a challenge.

Recommendations

Ease of use and functionality. We did a slight survey before selecting based on its daily use rather than acquiring a system that would not change our systems.

BuilderTREND is the Best On-line Construction Management Product

Ease-of-use

The webinars after signing up with them helped a lot. Their easy-to-understand YouTube videos were a great use of my time to understand.

Functionality

This product helps my company with organization between my subs and clients. This product opens the communication between the client and what is happening with the project. Daily updates keep the client understanding the job with very few questions.

Product Quality

Great quality. BuilderTREND incorporated their product into my website, so it looks like it is 100% of my business format. Their quality and my website help secure more jobs.

Customer Support

Their support is also A+! When I have a question, they respond within a day with a great answer or even tell me what video to watch. They're very helpful.

They have been very helpful during the 6 months I have been with them. I have had questions on how certain things work within BuilderTREND, and within 24 hours or less, I have received an answer to my email. Their webinars are great, and new updates every few months keep them moving in the right direction.

Everything is great, but if I was to get picky, I would say the monthly fee could be more reasonable.

Recommendations

I was deciding between BuilderTREND and Co-Construct, and BuilderTREND was easier to contact before I signed up with them. They also answered all my questions before I signed the monthly contract with them.

It's super easy. We have different departments using it, and we all are capable.

I love BuilderTREND!

Ease-of-use

For the most part, the way I use BuilderTREND is very user-friendly.

Functionality

I am able to keep up with jobs, schedule tasks, and gauge how long jobs are taking from start to finish. I would like to see exporting to Excel in more areas of the software.

Product Quality

I think the software is well-designed for the construction field. The fact that it is in the cloud makes it easily accessible anywhere.

Customer Support

I have always had great customer service. My questions are always answered promptly, and I was reassured that we have unlimited free training.

Likes Best

Being able to schedule tasks to people in the field and the calendar functions are what I like the best. I appreciate the vendor's availability to train and answer any of our questions.

I'm unable to export certain data into Excel. I'm also unable to find answers to questions via the online training.

There is a lot of flexibility, and little things like "Display order" in custom fields are the value added piece that really bring the software together.

The entry level price is for a very minimal level of production; the price for unlimited production/jobs is reasonable, but I wish I had known that right away.

If you have any computer skills, it is really easy to learn to use.

Originally, there were a couple of things that I needed from BuilderTREND, and they showed us how to quickly access the information.

There have been a few occasions that the software locked up, but this could also be my computer.

Customer Support

When I pick up the phone to call someone, I expect to get a live voice that speaks great English on the other end. This is exactly what I have received every time I've called!

Most of our customers are from out of town and not able to be at the job site often, and the ability to upload pictures of the project right from a smart phone has been a great asset.

Some customers are not very computer savvy, and trying to communicate with them through the site can sometimes be challenging.

Ease-of-use

It's easy to figure out. We've only had minor complications, such as viewing access to documents.

Functionality

The functionality meets our needs for the extensive work that custom home building entails.

Product Quality

Wonderful! We have been very impressed with the product. We find it useful and convenient. I have only been with the company for eight months and have found it easy to use.

Customer Support

The customer service is very helpful and patient. When we had issues with document access, they called and talked us through how to resolve the issue.

Personally, I find the best feature of this product to be its accessibility. We have multiple projects going on at once, and it's nice that we can create a job folder for each, and our guys out in the field can access their building documents, permits, etc. quickly.

When adding new documents, you have to add each person that can view them. This takes a chunk of time and costs efficiency, as some vendors can be overlooked.

Recommendations

It's very helpful if you have many people viewing documents who are not centrally located.

Two things have really blown me away with BuilderTREND. One is that the product fits in our daily work environment and makes managing jobs easier out of the box. Second is that the staff is always supremely helpful with any issues that may arise or added functionality that is missing.

I think if the scheduling tool was a little easier to use and edit, the suite would be perfect, but as of now, we still use other software as our primary scheduling tool due to the speed and ease at which we have become proficient.

I think, bar none, this is the best jobsite management tool I have used so far. Change orders, job tracking, cost tracking, document sharing, and customer and trade review are second to none.
