BuilderTREND is an award winning construction management system for homebuilders and remodelers. It combines project scheduling, project management, customer management, and service management in a single suite. It can be used by both production and custom homebuilders, but is also suitable for construction managers, residential remodelers, and design/build firms that work on residential projects. With the exception of large companies doing over $1 billion in revenue annually, BuilderTREND can be used by any size of contractor.
Key features in the system include photo and document management, selections and change order management, scheduling, and warranty administration. BuilderTREND also includes customer and trade partner web portal access. Because it's web-based, BuilderTREND can be used on both Mac and Windows computers. No software or servers have to be installed and maintained on location. Additionally, the program can be accessed from any location, with any type of mobile device, including iPhones, iPads, and Android phones. The software has a one-time setup fee, but uses month-to-month pricing thereafter. Training and support is free, and unlimited, which is a unique offering in the industry.

BuilderTREND is OUTSTANDING! We are a design/build remodel firm in Sacramento, CA, and we specialize in kitchens, baths, additions and outdoor living spaces. We usually have six to 12 projects going at the same time.
Before BuilderTREND, we did all of our project tracking on white boards. That system works fine - as long as you don't mind re-writing your schedule for every job twice a week! BuilderTREND allowed us to make schedule changes in real time, and from the field. We are able to see our favorite subcontractor's schedules and where we have overlap, so changes can be made once, made at the client's job site, and then we update everyone who is involved.
Training was easy - they had us up and running in a couple of hours, and have always had fantastic customer service and follow up. I can't imagine our company without it!

BuilderTREND is a key part of our company's data collection and sharing. We can access all our information from the site from a laptop, an iPad or an iPhone. It is easy to use and you can set up your folders the way you want. You can take pictures and let your customer see the construction of their home at different stages as you take those pictures.

We are new to BuilderTREND and just starting to use it with our clients. The software is easy to use, but we wish we would have started to implement this change while we weren't so busy! We were kind of reactionary instead of being proactive in making our decision to use it. My suggestion: don't wait until you need to do something to be better organized. We are seeing our sales volume increase, so as we become more proficient in BuilderTREND, it will become more valuable.
My one gripe is that the site is a bit slow when entering data. There is quite a lag, especially when making changes to the calendar and selection areas.

We are a design-build remodeling company that specializes in additions, kitchens and baths. As our company began to grow with more and more clients, we found that we needed to find a construction management system that would work well with our clients, suppliers, sub-trades and staff. The one that we were using fell far too short of the mark. Then we found BuilderTREND last fall, and the fog has now lifted for us. What a difference! We get lots of comments from our clients and sub-trades saying how much they like accessing our job files and getting the info that they need. We found that it is very user friendly and easy to learn. We love the Change Order features, because now we do not have to chase the client down and get signatures for approvals. The schedule calendar works great for everyone involved, and we have far less problems with getting trades in and out on time. All in all, this one gets a big 5 stars from us!

We are a custom and semi-custom home builder. We just signed on with BuilderTREND a couple of weeks ago. In the past we have used a competitor's product that was cumbersome and difficult to implement. It has been refreshing to use BuilderTREND. The learning curve is much shorter, and we are excited about the product.

Capstone Construction and Management, Inc. specializes in building high-end custom homes, as well as whole house remodeling and additions. We have been with BuilderTREND since December 2009. We were looking for software to manage our plans and documentation from bid to finish. We used to spend thousands of dollars a year on printing and reproduction.
We sort of stumbled upon BuilderTREND. The sales person had an online demo of the software that was easy to understand. Set-up and implementation was easy, the program is easy to learn, and it was easy to teach our subcontractors, who had little or no computer experience, to use the software.

Customers always ask, "When can you start, and how long will the project take?" I tell them I can't offer a realistic estimate without a detailed schedule, which I can generate with BuilderTREND. I then pull out a 2-3 month schedule that includes a monthly calendar that shows what will be completed each day. When two different tradesmen are on site on the same day, their schedules appear in different colors. This shows my potential customer knows that my company must be very organized in order to manage the different tradesmen so precisely.
The customer can view the schedule online any time, which will automatically update whenever any changes are made. I also post clients' invoices online for comparison against our proposals, which are also posted for online access at any time. As a renovation company, the scheduling feature has been the software's greatest asset. I will have to admit, I was skeptical that BuilderTREND could offer a project management system that would be flexible enough for our company, yet still be easy to use and learn. But after using the system for two months, I am impressed. The clean user interface allows you to see exactly what you get - there is no behind-the-scenes data entry. By the way the system functions, I can tell that the database behind it is clean and well organized - not an easy feat for a product that continues to develop.
The system could use a few more additions for greater functionality, such as more powerful options for schedule management, more templates and more reports (the Gantt chart is weak, and a flow chart is needed).
I can’t complain at all about their customer support. It is fast, convenient and always available. And in the end, I would go so far as to say that using the system is actually kind of fun.

We are a custom home builder, where no two projects or clients alike. BuilderTREND has given us a seamless, easy way to enhance the communication between all parties involved in every project. The clients love it, the trades get all the info they could possibly want (and then some), and the schedule is set for everyone to follow (or deviate from!) together. BuilderTREND is a straightforward tool, and has improved business for us.
I've rated functionality at 3 stars, just because there is more functionality than we need or use. There are some sections, like "Selections", that we track differently, but we use the "Documents" feature extensively for this instead.

A mutual friend that uses BuilderTREND told us what a wonderful product it is, and how much we could benefit by using it. Well, we contacted BuilderTREND back in April 2011 and signed up. We were sold on the software immediately. All the features and ease of the system is wonderful. We have started off with imputting a few homes, and are looking forward to adding more.

This program is helpful for many reasons. Each person in our office uses a different feature of the program. I mainly only use customer/job information and the documents tab. The documents tab is a good way to have another backup of important documents.
One thing that has always kind of bothered me is sometimes the "Multiple Documents Uploader" does not work. More often then not it works just fine though.

We love it. And our customers love it! Our first customer was using it shortly after we left from giving her an orientation. She raised issues and we resolved them in minutes. Change order needs were recognized, discussed, proposed and approved in hours instead of days. What's not to love.

We are a design-build remodeler outside of Philadelphia and each of our projects is completely unique and custom. We have been using BuilderTrend for a few months now and have really enjoyed it! We've been able to completely eliminate the expansive spreadsheet document that tracked all of our client selections; now, all selections reside on BuilderTrend and clients, sales persons, designers and carpenters all have access to the same, accurate information any time of the day! Love it!

We just started using Builder Trend a couple weeks ago and so far it has been easy to use and the support from Builder Trend has been great. We are a home builder/remodeler that will complete about 19 homes this year and needed a system to streamline our schedules and help improve and track communication on each job so that's why we looked into it.
We're just getting the system up and running but so far so good. It is a little more costly than what we were hoping for but if we can get it fully implemented we hope it will be worth it. There are several features that we would like to see in the program that are not there yet but it sounds like they are working on some of them. Overall I would recommend the program to a builder looking for help with scheduling and coordinating trade contractors, as well as a way to communicate quickly without much hassle what the schedule is on jobs to clients.

Great customer service and very user friendly. It's a lot of material to encompass in one simple software program, especially for a custom homes builder. The messages tab could be a little better if it were more like Outlook and saved drafts and had spell check. Subcontractors and vendors should be more options as far as having multiple trades under their name, and affiliating more trades to one selection or change order because often they affect multiple contractors. They should also be able to see all selections. Other than that the program is very stable, and simple.

Working in home construction and remodeling, BuilderTrend has made the change order process between builder and client crystal clear. Before we started using BuilderTrend, tracking many different charges and credits was difficult. Chasing down the client to sign a change order before work progressed was never convenient for either party. Concern over if a change order was issued or paid is no longer a worry for us. All invoicing and payment information on one master customer info page. It's really great and so easy to use!

We are very happy with our experience using BuilderTrend. The program is very user friendly, and allows for multiple people to review what was uploaded. By uploading documents on BuilderTrend under each job, we save time when looking for the document in the company's shared files and the document is not saved in many different locations. BuilderTrend has allowed us to focus on and improve internal processes resulting in better project management. Selling jobs is easier when customers realize they can track the process and progress from anywhere. They love our photos which they are able to share with friends and family. Our customers really enjoy the peace of mind BuilderTrend provides them with the knowledge they can monitor and see the historic data has well. We have found the change order feature helps our customers understand the cumulative affect of C/Os and prevents "sticker shock" at the end.

I started my own renovation company over five years ago after working 15 years for various custom builders. But because of the cost of construction software, it just wasn't in the budget. Over the past five years, I developed Excel spreadsheets and Word documents that helped keep me organized and efficient (or at least I thought so).
One day I had a random phone call from one of the Builder Trend representatives (Clint) and I checked out the web site. After the free demo, I was convinced. It never occurred to me the amount of double entering, emailing and communication that I was doing (or not doing). It was easy to understand, manipulate and use.
I have used various types of software throughout my career so I was very familiar with how software could benefit a company. However, product out there was very expensive to purchase. What I liked about Builder Trend's pricing structure is that I set the price based on the amount of jobs that I believe I will do in that year. No different than my business plan forecast. And if I exceed that (which we all hope we do), I just contact Builder Trend and they increase the amount of jobs available to me. This also increases the monthly payment but if I achieve my sales, then the minimal additional cost is irrelevant. It pays for itself.
With respect to the software itself, the product I used in the past was labor intensive to start up, implement and train. After 1 session, I was easily changing schedules, adding jobs and communicating with trades and clients. Scott was very informative and educated. He quickly and honestly answered all of my questions. In addition, prior to our implementation meeting, I sent in my schedule and trade templates and it was all in the system "ready to go" for me to fine tune. No starting from scratch and "learn as I go". While he taught me Builder Trend, we altered and changed my information to best teach me the ease of Builder Trend.
Finally by having a customized page for my clients to communicate with us, shows that we are a legit company and professional. That says a lot in the renovation market. My clients love this as they can view their project at any time. We love it because we can get change orders approved quickly and sometimes even right on site without having to go back to the office and prepare a word document. We make the necessary adjustments through our iPhone and send it for approval. They can be standing right beside us, go into their secure page and approve it right there.

We are a small building company located in Whistler BC and we wanted to find a software program that allowed us to clearly communicate (in a trackable fashion) with our clients. Builder Trend more than meets this need. We went from using a hodge podge system of spreadsheets and word documents, to using BuilderTrend which amalgamates and filters all of this into one area, in a concise and organized fashion. All of our emails and correspondence with a client now happens through BuilderTrend. The other great thing about Builder Trend (amongst many), is that this allows all of our staff one area to store and access information around a given project as well! I've recently started using BuilderTREND as a sales tool by taking pictures of potential clients lots and setting them up as a lead. I work for a custom home builder as a Design Coordinator and I saw BuilderTREND at the builder show in Orlando. My boss and I had previously discussed a program that could help us contain all of our pertinent client information in one place. We also wanted this information to be easily accessible to our clients and subcontractors. There was a disconnect between what happens in the field and what made it to the office to be billed. I have been using BuilderTREND for almost a year. I am a small remodeler and home builder in Florida. They have been absolutely great to work with and it is so nice to speak with them whenever you have questions. I also love the branding they did for my own website. I would like to thank Scott Siegert for his wonderful support. I started working for Element Residential in March of 2011. Scott has really helped me to understand the "ins and outs" of BuilderTREND and helped our company as we have continued to grow. We currently have all of our trades, business partners, sales agents, homes owners and even our internal group using BuilderTREND. I use BuilderTREND every day and think it is great software. The calendar function is better than our franchise software, on which we spent millions of dollars. We use the brochures that BuilderTREND provides as a sales tool to show off how our clients can use this tremendous tool. We run all of our e-mails and client interactions through the BuilderTREND e-mail function, so we have a nice clean record of every interaction. I upload invoices, project drawings, lien releases, pictures, and all the important stuff we deal with in construction. I now am hooked and so are my clients on this great project management software!

Our company is a medium-sized general contracting company. We build custom, single family and multifamily buildings. Due to our willingness to make almost any changes our customers want, we were in need of software that allowed us to communicate changes and additions with our customers, in a more structured way. Great product. Our clients seem to love it. Scheduling features could use slight tweaking for ease of use (ie. Microsoft Project flexibility), but the end result is great! Clients can forward watermarked photographs to their friends while the project is ongoing and share progress.

BuilderTREND has been a godsend for my type of company. I like to really fine-tune my schedule on each project but I've already developed several templates that make loading and starting a new job very easy. I make a few job-specific changes and I've got a viable schedule for the next six months. We build a lot of specs and usually genuinely interested buyers have seen our BT demo video on the site and then we share a "Confidential Guest log-in" for the current job and buyers check in and hopefully notice how detail-oriented we are but also how consistent communication is on change orders and warranty follow-up. It really allows us to keep overhead low and is very easy and intuitive to use. I would highly recommend this to any builder.

We are a small General Contracting company who has spent thousands of dollars on software over the years that has ended up being trashed because of trying to take complicated programs and adapt our needs to their functionality. Finally, we found a web-based program that caters to the Home Building Industry, and has the industry knowledge to stand behind it! The application itself is easy to use, similar to the intuitiveness of MicroSoft Office so it's easy for a wide variety of users to pick up on quickly. Once you're set up, it's "out of the box" ready to go, after about an hour of training.
Great graphics, impressive customer access tools, and they are continually improving functionality. It also allows us to have all the client and sub contractor information all in one place, with all the backup documents, pictures, and plans at our fingertips. Customer support is unparallel - your personal rep actually answers the phone, and they are truly interested in getting your questions and issues solved quickly and efficiently. Training is available - whenever you need it, as many times as you want it - at no extra charge.
One downside is that in order to access the BuilderTREND tools daily in real time, and utilize the benefits effectively, our project managers and sub contractors need web access in the field - we are looking at buying iPads or laptops, but this can get expensive. We are a new client to BuilderTREND and have been very happy with the support and ease of use of the program. We were looking for a program to help us streamline the construction and bidding process. To date, we have uploaded numerous sets of plans. We have used the program to send out bid requests as well as give subcontractors access to plans without the need of printing the sets. This has saved us time and money. No longer are we printing dozens of sets of plans, rather our subcontractors can download them and print their own sets.

Dreamville Homes Ltd. is a custom home builder in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We build high-end estate homes. I first heard about BuilderTREND software from a construction course I was taking. I thought it would be a great way to organize and co-ordinate all my trades. So far, it's been very helpful in keeping me organized. I have to start by giving thanks to the development team. I've been working in residential design since 2002 (Kitchen/cabinetry design), and I have never seen a tool like BuilderTREND. I started with the Pinnacle Group on December 1st, and I'm basically speechless when it comes to talking about the benefits and the advantages of such tool.

Our Clients, Our Sub-Contractors, and We LOVE BuilderTREND! Client Selections and Change Orders are the BEST! Our clients love that they can just go onto their "Dashboard" and approve selections and change orders without leaving their job or home for a time consuming appointment at the Builder's office!
