Pros

The fact that it thinks just about everything. The fact that all parties are involved.

Cons

There are a few things that could be improved. I'd like to talk to a rep about that rather than try to scribble something down here.

Pros

Easy to communicate with all trades on site remotely, ability to prioritize tasks and set deadlines, easy to take photos on site and embed in work orders

Cons

Would like a better way to manage and view the schedules of trades (perhaps this is available as an admin, we are set up as a user)

keeping track of budget through buildertrend is still a bit challenging but hopefully will get easier as we implement this approach to track more projects

Love it, still learning everyday on it.

Pros

I can look up any job and receive a ton of info on it like, selections, progress, add ons, customer info.

Cons

Sometimes it's hard to find the info I'm looking for. If people don't up date it doesn't work to good but that's not your problem

Pros

I like the fact that I can have several proposals under one project although it would be nice to approve more than one as the product only seems to allow one per lead.

Cons

For some reason when working on proposals you do not see the whole thing. You need to slide left and right or tab left/right to access all the features and to make adjustments. Is there anyway you can rectify this?

A good software for Project Management. Still learning and implementing so cant provide deeper comments.

Pros

Good support, easy to use. Tech support and implementation coach really following up in implementation.

Cons

Integration and sync with outside applications like outlook and MS Project would be a great improvement to be able to manage all communications in one site.

All in all happy with it
I liked my old trainer a lot, he helped me get started

Pros

Calendar

Lead intake

well organized jobs
I like the product a lot
Mobile works well

Cons

Client side is not very good in my opinion we don't even use it - we have to pay to use another system (Basecamp) - this is a big bummer, if this worked better I would really give it a 10
messaging and email clunky
Don't use financial stuff much
CRM is very limited in reports

Very pleased with customer service!

Pros

Ease of use and customer service. Like how predictable the software is. Has been reliable with very few service interuptions.

Cons

Only one proposal per bid, would like to issue bid packages on leads to price leads before they become a job

Pros

BT has been the missing piece our company has been needing for a long time. We struggled with communication among employees and clients, now all conversations are right in one place for everyone to see. Not scattered between multiple employees emails or written on post-it notes. Having files accessible in the office or in the field has solved so many issues as well.

Cons

The PO system is "clunky". Too many layers and tabs and things to click. If you forgot to click something that can end up biting you later.

Pros

Cons

Need to be able to save documents from outside BT email - it's a pain to have to save them to a drive and then upload
Selections seem cumbersome to use - maybe because we are a custom home builder and have lots of selections and because of the first line here!

Ease-of-use

Customer Support

Value for Money

Pros

We like that it is a Central database for whole company and that it has the ability for client interaction.

Cons

Leads platform is almost useless to us in the way we run our business, but incredibly essential. We end up having to run our clients in 2 different databases until they become a job (sign a contract). It's not convenient at all. There is not enough ability to Taylor to our individual business needs thru out the program and the reporting and tracking is almost non existent.

BuilderTrend is an amazing product! It has completely transformed our business. We use the system every minute of every day and don't know how we lived without it. The ability to have all the information in one place and for our team to communicate with each other (and more importantly our customers) has relieved so much chaos in our business. Our customers say that we communicate well with them and they are well informed about their jobs. We do this through messaging, daily logs, and the calendar. In addition, having all these integrated parts helps us manage the jobs and keeps our team and our subs in the loop. Also, the functionality of the mobile apps has made communication so fast and easy.

Pros

Integration of all parts of the business from the quoting phase through to the selection process and now over to the ordering process.

Cons

Using the Purchase Order section is clunky for us. The system is set up for "labor" PO's with subs. We actually order and receive tangible products for our customers and have no easy way of tracking the order from order to payment to receipt of item. Would love to be able to customize this area to our own needs.

The features and function of the program is very user friendly, as well as the staff and my coach. There are so many options and apps that can be used on all of my devices and sync with other programs that I use for my business.

Cons

Don't really have any cons from what I have learned so far. My only problem is having or making the time to get used to using it.

Almost all of the features we need in one system.

Pros

This program has a ton of features built in, from tracking leads to converting to jobs, to invoicing. Makes it convenient to not have to jump around to different programs at the various stages of a job.

Cons

It can get glitchy at times and run slow. This doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's annoying. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but because it has so many features, it's well worth it.

After getting the full-fledged sale on how fantastic this is, I signed up for the minimum monthly plan. On the first "online demo", the internet went down for the coach, so he asked me to reschedule for the next day. He missed the next day's appointment. I called to reschedule with someone else, and when they didn't call, I was told they were no longer with the company. On the third attempt, I ended up finding out that it was not nearly as customizable as I was lead to believe, but I was told that they were going to work with their IT Dept to see what could be done.

Coincidentally, my coach reached out to me a few weeks, later, literally one day outside the 30-day guarantee window, so I was charged for an additional month. When I tried to cancel, I was told it was too late, so I was charged for two full months, and got nothing from it but several wasted phone calls and confirmation that the software will not work for me.

I am a technology solutions consultant to the company that selected Buildertrend. We reviewed several other products, but Buildertrend won out due to completeness of solution for a home builder, ease of use, an available mobile app, and pricing model.

Pros

Overall ease of use and completeness of solution, pricing model, mobile application.

I also liked the ability to include subcontractors and home owners in the project communications - where desired - this can be controlled.

Training materials are excellent (videos, live trainings), the Buildertrend support staff were knowledgeable of the building industry, the home building process and very helpful.

Cons

Integration with major accounting/finance/ERP applications is limited.

Advice to Others

While overall ease of use is excellent, it is a comprehensive application and requires dedicated training effort for a successful implementation.

While researching the options available for Construction Management software, I gravitated heavily towards Builder Trend. We were very serious about implementation, but ran into a particular product quirk that we did not want to sacrifice. However, this does not speak to the functionality of the product and would be a very good solution for many companies.

We use builder trend in our company for numerous reasons. Communication, document sharing, contact management, scheduling, product selections, change order management. This software has greatly improved our existing systems substantially.

Pros

The customer support has been excellent to work with. If ever I have a problem they are always there to offer guidance. If ever I have an idea to extend builder trend already phenomenal system they actually listen. Numerous advancements have been made that have always exceeded my expectations.

Cons

I am still hoping one day builder trend may offer a way to redevelop a system that allows it to be fully customizable. I know that's asking a lot but I think this would make it a lot more attractive.
