Easy to use and organized

It's so simple to understand. It's user-friendly and intuitive.

We use it for volunteer scheduling, and it works well.

I love BuilderTREND!

Ease-of-use

For the most part, the way I use BuilderTREND is very user-friendly.

Functionality

I am able to keep up with jobs, schedule tasks, and gauge how long jobs are taking from start to finish. I would like to see exporting to Excel in more areas of the software.

Product Quality

I think the software is well-designed for the construction field. The fact that it is in the cloud makes it easily accessible anywhere.

Customer Support

I have always had great customer service. My questions are always answered promptly, and I was reassured that we have unlimited free training.

Likes Best

Being able to schedule tasks to people in the field and the calendar functions are what I like the best. I appreciate the vendor's availability to train and answer any of our questions.

Likes Least

I'm unable to export certain data into Excel. I'm also unable to find answers to questions via the online training.

I've only been using it a few days and have been impressed with all the options available to us; this is the only product I have seen that checks off every single requirement that we were looking for.

I wish the software wasn't subject to the vagaries of internet speeds, but that's simply how it and other products of the same class are built.

I like the flexibility of the software, as well as the availability, knowledge, and professionalism of every person I've spoken with at BuilderTREND. There is a lot of flexibility, and little things like "Display order" in custom fields are the value added piece that really bring the software together.

The entry level price is for a very minimal level of production; the price for unlimited production/jobs is reasonable, but I wish I had known that right away.

Ease-of-use

If you have any computer skills, it is really easy to learn to use.

Functionality

Originally, there were a couple of things that I needed from BuilderTREND, and they showed us how to quickly access the information.

Product Quality

There have been a few occasions that the software locked up, but this could also be my computer.

Customer Support

When I pick up the phone to call someone, I expect to get a live voice that speaks great English on the other end. This is exactly what I have received every time I've called!

Likes Best

Most of our customers are from out of town and not able to be at the job site often, and the ability to upload pictures of the project right from a smart phone has been a great asset.

Likes Least

Some customers are not very computer savvy, and trying to communicate with them through the site can sometimes be challenging.

I am overall pleased with BuilderTREND

There are only a few things I haven't figured out how to do, but my guess is I don't have the proper permissions to form these tasks.

It meets all of my needs in the office, as I use it to upload documents everyday.

I think the quality of the product is good. I've yet to find any major flaws in the program.

Customer Support

I've never had to use the customer support; therefore, I am neither able to agree nor disagree with the level of winning their team has achieved.

It's a great way to share information with our trades, and anyone can check at anytime. It's a quick and easy way for office people (like myself) to transmit information out to the guys onsite.

Some days, it's really slow and hard to get on to. I also don't like the new layout on the change order page.

BuilderTrend: A great tool for builders

Ease-of-use

It's easy to figure out. We've only had minor complications, such as viewing access to documents.

Functionality

The functionality meets our needs for the extensive work that custom home building entails.

Product Quality

Wonderful! We have been very impressed with the product. We find it useful and convenient. I have only been with the company for eight months and have found it easy to use.

Customer Support

The customer service is very helpful and patient. When we had issues with document access, they called and talked us through how to resolve the issue.

Likes Best

Personally, I find the best feature of this product to be its accessibility. We have multiple projects going on at once, and it's nice that we can create a job folder for each, and our guys out in the field can access their building documents, permits, etc. quickly.

Likes Least

When adding new documents, you have to add each person that can view them. This takes a chunk of time and costs efficiency, as some vendors can be overlooked.

Recommendations

It's very helpful if you have many people viewing documents who are not centrally located.

The page reloads between all scheduling steps. Building schedules can especially take quite a bit of time.

Tie the scheduling into MS Project, or similar, so that schedules can be built or updated offline.

Great tool for working with clientele and trades

It's very easy to set up and use. Day-to-day job management is great.

Two things have really blown me away with BuilderTREND. One is that the product fits in our daily work environment and makes managing jobs easier out of the box. Second is that the staff is always supremely helpful with any issues that may arise or added functionality that is missing.

I think if the scheduling tool was a little easier to use and edit, the suite would be perfect, but as of now, we still use other software as our primary scheduling tool due to the speed and ease at which we have become proficient.

I think, bar none, this is the best jobsite management tool I have used so far. Change orders, job tracking, cost tracking, document sharing, and customer and trade review are second to none.

It's very simple to navigate and to add or subtract items off the calendar.

I liked how the calendar was set up before the update so that when we would print, it would show what was on the calendar more fully.

Ease-of-use

It is very straightforward and easy to use. Even as a new user, I felt comfortable.

It is a great product and software. It works in the field and in the office.

I have not personally used the customer support, but from what I have heard from coworkers, it has been great.

It meets the needs of different departments. We use it to track volunteers and construction, which are two different things. The calendar feature comes in handy and keeps data straight.

It's easy to read and understand. Sending information is easy, too, whether you are on a computer or a cellphone.

Really think about all aspects of the software. Think of your favorite aspects and those you dislike as well.

Great for record storage

Ease-of-use

The mobile app crashes, and the photo gallery is slow. It is quicker to look at pictures on our server rather than the system.

Functionality

The selections area is a pain. The QuickBooks itemized breakdowns of costs should speak to each other. We job cost in QuickBooks. We stopped using the budget because accounting and project management were spending too much time doubling the entries.

Product Quality

Functionality on the go is lacking. Selections are a pain. Budget tracking (which is the most important) is worthless because it forces you to double enter. It wastes valuable time. QuickBooks accounts should sync.

Customer Support

Awesome. I'm never on hold. They answer every stupid question we have and will even set up a template while on the phone with us.

Likes Best

It is awesome to be able to store all, photos, documents, emails, and customer communications in the cloud. It saves time by allowing my staff and me to access information at the office while in the field. Record keeping is primarily what we use it for.

Likes Least

The mobile system is difficult. The system shuts down often and quickly kicks us off the entire application. Another competitor of BuilderTREND is able to take texts and emails through Outlook or whatever the software is and log them into the system without having to click "Reply or Reply All" in the message. People like to text message now; quick is better. It would also be nice to view the messages between staff and clients similar to outlook rather than having to open each email. Lead tracking needs some serious work. The selections area is difficult to use; selections in rooms that have the same flooring should not have to be inputed into each room. I should be able to put a check next to each room that the particular flooring is installed in.

Recommendations

Take your time with it and try them all out on a trial basis. We selected BuilderTREND because of customer service, and their sales team did not pressure us. We knew we were buying it; it was only a matter of time before we did. Their competitors were hounds.

Must Buy for Any Contractor!

Ease-of-use

Any system has a learning curve, but this was a fairly simple system to master, especially with the education seminars that BuilderTREND provides.

Functionality

It provides everything that we want. We would like to see a time-tracking/cost-coding feature that would allow us to monitor cost more accurately.

Product Quality

Quality is great. We have no complaints. If you get Internet access, you can be productive!

Customer Support

They are prompt to return calls, easy to reach, and very willing to assist when needed.

The team at BuilderTREND provides excellent customer service and walks you through any questions or difficulties that might arise.

The two best features are the online interactive calendar that allows the owner to understand the construction tasks and impact on the schedule and the change order feature that allows a client to review and accept/decline change orders without a face-to-face meeting; both save a huge amount of time.

I don't have any negative feedback. I would love to see a cost coding feature or time tracker feature to record employee activities for payroll purposes and job costing purposes.

Give them a try. I love that they are cloud-based so we can have our workers or client access the system from anywhere.

Fully functional builder's project management software

Ease-of-use

It's hard to navigate around. It takes lots of hours of familiarizing yourself with this software before remembering how to do things.

Functionality

It keeps me organized, alerts my trades of their schedule, and organizes documents for trades and owners to view.

Product Quality

I would like it to be easier to navigate, and I would like to be able to have multiple windows open!

Customer Support

I receive an immediate response for questions and issues I have had.

I like the ability to communicate and schedule with subcontractors and vendors and the ability to keep all documents and communications with clients on a cloud-based program.

It's difficult to load jobs at times. Their support has slow response times.It's easy to lose information without an auto save function. It can be difficult to create templates. It's difficult to alter a schedule without throwing other schedule items out of sync. Also, it should warn you if you would like to save the page before exiting.

Recommendations

Always save your page before navigating to another page or you will lose your changes.

Works well for a novice

Ease-of-use

We have a lot of different projects and programs, and so sorting through them can be tricky. We have had to create numerous job groups, and projects will sometimes have to be switched over. An "on hold" separation would be helpful, too, instead of just "open" and "closed."

Functionality

This program meets my needs for basic understanding of scheduled items.

Product Quality

It seems like a high quality product, and it is always continuing to improve, which I appreciate.

Customer Support

Customer support seems helpful from what I've heard, although I've never used it myself.

Likes Best

The calendar function is pretty helpful, as is being able to link phases to other phases of the projects. The lifetime training opportunities and tech support are helpful.

Likes Least

Some of the navigation and sorting functions are a little counterintuitive. It's a little bit of a learning curve to figure out, and we have had to be a little creative with some of the drop-down menus to be able to sort most effectively.

Recommendations

This programs seems to be good for general schedule-keeping and is helpful for an at-a-glance look at what is going on in the organization as a whole. I know others have complained that it has fallen short on some of the reporting and have wished it had something to help you look more globally.

The product is pretty self-explanatory. If you know how to use an Outlook or Gmail calendar, you can use this.

For our department, this product fulfills our needs.

In the year i've been using it, we have not had any issues with BuilderTREND.

Since we have not had any issues with it, we haven't had to utilize their support team.

Overall, it's okay software, despite some issues

It's not rocket science, and as long as it uploads everything and remains accessible to all involved, it's pretty good.

Functionality

It is so-so. It's a big improvement over what we had before, but it's not the best. There are constantly issues that need to be ironed out.

It's okay as long as there aren't any snafus or glitches.

They're always willing to try and figure out the glitch.

I like that it's easy to upload documents so that trades, subs, and homeowners have the ability to see them.

I dislike that it's a separate entity that we have to sign into. I wish it were part of our Microsoft system, but from what I've just learned, Microsoft 365 has the capability of providing us this same function at no additional cost. Also, sometimes with BT, there are errors where subs suddenly don't have access to a project.

Check to see if your Microsoft System has something similar!
