BigContacts provides an end-to-end, cloud-based Customer Relationship Management and Marketing system designed especially for small businesses to establish and nurture leads through the sales process. Information is stored in the cloud and accessed through a browser. 

Contact information for prospects is visible with comments and links to their social media pages and accounts can be setup and imported in less than one hour. Members of the sales team can record phone calls, send emails, and complete other tasks with a single click. All email correspondence, meetings, and updated opportunities are all included within the contact history. BigContacts also alerts users when specific emails are opened.

The built-in scheduler lists all meetings and tasks, and can be sorted by the day, week, or month. Each event links to the contact’s information page. Any tasks that may not have a particular time set are stored in the user’s to-do list.

I tried to use this program to track real estate leads. It was very time consuming to enter the information because they have crammed too much information on the contacts page so you are constantly scrolling. Next, the program had a problem and stopped showing all of my contacts. It would only show the first 25. This was complicated by the fact that it would duplicate and sometimes triple an individual contact for no reason. Finally, when the add contact page stopped opening, I gave up. Now all 68 of my new contacts are gone. Thanks but no thanks to Big Contacts.

Advice to Others

Stay away. It was a waste of time using this program.

The customer support is very willing to help and is fairly quick to respond. The program is easy to learn and simple for basic things.

Being based in Australia I am in a different time zone and this can sometimes delay response to help requests...

Recommendations

Use the free trial. Be prepared to spend time testing the system in a "live" environment. Be willing to change things. Ask the vendor for help as most are very willing to assist.

The best thing about BigContacts is that you can fully customize the CRM to fit the specific needs of your business.

Recommendations

For the cost per month to use, and the additional available system features - BigContacts is a great value. I don't know of any other system that allows you to customize and tweak a CRM the way BigContacts does.

This is the first time our real estate office has used Big Contacts. We have 11 agents and all of them were able to learn how to navigate and use the program very easily. It is used daily by all of us and we love it. It has been a huge plus to us to manage everyone's contacts.

The messages from the CEO every week. The initial setup of the Drip campaign is easy but it does take a lot of time.

Recommendations

Avoid Constant Contact at all cost. Make sure that you save all contacts in Excel before you import anything.

I currently don't use big contacts but when I did I thought the restrictions on how many contacts I can have were low and some of the integrations into other platforms were lacking.

Recommendations

I have not used this CRM for a few years because I am using something that ties into my gmail acct seamlessly and my staff was able to get accustomed to it pretty fast.

The price and ease of use. It's easy to set up and helps manage day to day tasks.

The customer service is terrible. If you have a problem there is no one to speak with. I've had an issue with the software and they have never resolved it.

Recommendations

On the phone app I have to hit the contact name twice in order for it to pop up. I know I'm knit picking but that's the only negative for me.

There are actually two things that I love most about BigContacts:

1. The autopilot function. I like knowing that each new consultant or lead is getting the same information each time. I don't have to wonder if I remembered to send them something or think about where I saved the file to send them.

2. Daily Task. It really is my second brain. I can step away for a couple of days and know exactly what I need to do when I sit down at my desk. Nothing falls between the cracks since I have started using BigContacts.

Pulling reports could be a little easier, but it could be user error. I might just need to get more training in this area. I really don't have any complaints about BigContacts.

Recommendations

You have to be dedicated in the beginning and really give it time to work. You have to do a little work upfront, but it will save you so much time in the end.

We have had a very good experience. The only issue we ran into was some problems converting existing contact files from Outlook.

It's web-deliverable, so you can access BigContacts from any internet connection anywhere. It has a plug-n-play learning curve, and the top-shelf features at a bargain price.

I compared it to Salesforce.com and other similar websites, but dollar for dollar, not only was BigContacts the best value, it did the job. We update client profiles after every contact, and we send emails and mass mail all with BigContacts from any internet connection.

I can attach files, photos of clients, or important documents taken with an iPhone when out of the office, and it allows you to track and keep notes about discussions, meetings, documents sent and received. Anything pertaining to the client is there at the click of a mouse.

I've use BigContacts for eight years (since 2006). I converted from a PC-based ACT! system that I had customized extensively. The web-based CRM was ahead of its time back then and has kept pace with competitors since.

BigContacts had all the features of a more expensive site like Saleforce.com without the huge cost. Add to that, it's easy to train new employees on BigContacts, which allows them to efficiently support you and the clients sooner. BigContacts.com has been a great complement to keeping my business organized, tracked, and streamlined.
