Hubspot Sales provides the functionality to manage your accounts in a lean time saving way. I really like the fact that I can create contacts, record where we are in the sales process and filter that in the homepage to save time and increase productivity. I also enjoy the fact that I can go through the certifications which help me manage my contacts better.

Pros

It talks with other parts of the system, meaning that if I create a client and it has a corporate email, it links to the other clients within that email.

Cons

It is not as intuitive as I wished. The certifications help if I have the time to make them.

The ability to track leads, leave notes and share with others in the organization, email history, and visibility to whether emails are being read. I also love the integration with Google/Gmail.

Likes Least

I don't think the UI is completely intuitive. I am probably not using the software to its fullest capacity because I haven't figured out how to use all of the features. We are in the education industry, so I don't know that all of the fields are completely relevant.

Recommendations

Ensure that the administrator for your company has a full understanding of your CRM needs and sets up hubspot fields properly. It's also very important that they understand all the workflows up front. I'm sure our set up is a bit dodgy which affects the perceived ease of use and functionality.

Too expensively priced for small businesses. Also does not interface with Zimbra email platform; without interfacing with one's email platform, a CRM program is quite useless.

Recommendations

Test the intuitiveness of this type of software, especially during times when you are extremely busy and you just want to add a simple note or quickly schedule an appointment or send a brief memo, again during a time when you are extremely busy. That's a true test of intuitiveness.

There are SO many things you can do with HubSpot. It is such a multi-faceted platform. Their customer service is very helpful. I have also found their online tutorials to be very helpful when trying to understand all of the moving parts on the platform.

Likes Least

There may almost be TOO much that you can use the system for, if that is possible. It is difficult to know everything that they offer because there is so much offered.

Recommendations

Get certified with HubSpot, or at least use their study guides. It really helps for a more complete understanding of the platform. I don't know that there are too many platforms that offer as much as they do, my recommendation is attend some of their webinars and check out their offerings before making a decision.

The support team is great - always ready and eager to help answer questions, resolve technical issues, and provide strategy.
The product is an all-in-one solution to inbound marketing, with blogging, social media, email, and reporting components, just to name a few. The product is very intuitive, allowing non-graphic designers like myself to easily build email templates and landing pages.

One of the cons to an all-in-one solution is that some areas are stronger than others. Lead scoring is a bit challenging and repetitive to set up, but support is helpful in suggesting workarounds.

Recommendations

If you're looking for a one-stop-shop for blogging, social media, and email - you've found the right too! HubSpot makes it easy to stay organized and keep branding and messaging consistent.

The best thing about the Hubspot CRM is that it is another extension between the marketing team and the sales team. It has helped us all be on the same page, and continues to help us grow and work together.

I do wish that it has some prospecting capabilities and that the sidekick was fully integrated with the CRM inside of the same dashboard. I love all the products but would like to have them in the same place.

Recommendations

If you are going to use the Hubspot CRM, it is a must that you fully utilize the marketing aspect of Hubspot as well. Also, make sure that you have the sidekick fully set up as well, bc this tool make it ten times betters.

Since the CRM is still in it's beta development stage, there are a few bugs here and there. There have been a few issues in regards to synching with the CRM we have used in the past.

Recommendations

Take into account how young the CRM is and how innovative it is. Do you spend more time trying to figure it out than actually using it? If so, you are using the wrong software. It should be simple and easy to use while maximizing efficiency.

It does the data analysis for you and streamlines sending messages out through various social media channels.

I cannot edit posts after they are published. I send messages out into several groups, and I have to go individually to each one to delete it if a change needs to be made. It would be nice to have an option on each message to simply click all or several and delete (like deleting emails works), or even better to edit so I don't have to delete.

We have complex commission reporting requirements that the HubSpot reporting add on could not accommodate. We used a connector from cData to access the HubSpot CRM data from our JasperReports Server to calculate commissions.

Great way to run a marketing program!

Pros

Easy to implement & train to use the tools, exhaustive toolset, integration with Salesforce and other popular software, great innovation - new things are coming out constantly and the tool is improved.

Cons

Part of improvements means changes, and sometimes the changes come in piecemeal, meaning that the UI is buggy and sometimes you do things one way on one screen and then another screen has you do it another way. Inconsistent experience.

This product is free, and given the great features, the value is high. We've hooked our clients up with the HubSpot CRM and have been able to prove the ROI they are getting from marketing. It's not too difficult to get behind that!

Cons

I'd like to be able to review sales rep activity en masse in one place. Other than that, I can't think of anything that's wrong with the software or things that could be done better.

Pros

Ease of use is definitely my favorite part right next to the fact that I can design an entire campaign and basically "set it and forget it." The analytics are very helpful, and give the entire team insight into what is working, and what can be improved. There is a huge library of resources that I can check out as much as I want, anytime of the day to help me build my skills at my own pace.

Cons

There are a number of areas where I wish the customization was easier for me and did not require developer intervention. It's an expensive product that sometimes requires significant additional expense with a HubSpot agency to help get projects over the finish line. But overall, it is still an amazing program.

The beauty of HubSpot CRM is the ability to use it for FREE at first and then to continue using it as your grow your business. A lot of companies will default to using a "more powerful" CRM but not many think to use both. If you use HubSpot CRM as a layover for the other CRM you're using (Salesforce), you can improve the information your reps get and augment their experience.

Pros

HubSpot CRM makes managing contacts and their associated deals / companies much easier than any CRM I've used in the past.

HubSpot CRM contact management is awesome. You can really easily change lots of contact data or ownership, something SFDC is sorely missing.

Cons

HubSpot CRM has room for improvement on custom views. The ability for reps to update or view different fields is a little too open.. the recent BETA release is really making great strides to help fix that though!!

Just try it. You don't have to commit to anything, it's free.

We use HubSpot for campaign management, lead generation, lead management, nurturing (sending follow-up emails, campaigns, etc), inbound marketing, and tracking. While my personal experience in the Sales platform is lesser than the Marketing platform, it has still been an excellent tool. The tasks option is also an interesting feature I look forward to working with.
