It's an all in one, appropriate for many kinds of businesses. It will never solve crappy strategy, sales or marketing practices or lame content.

Like anything that is "all in one," any single element is exposed to weakness in function such CRM, email, analytics, reporting, user-friendliness, support, real cost to implement, etc. Put Salesforce CRM to Infusionsoft CRM, by itself, there is no comparison. Suffice it to say however, that Infusionsoft CRM will get the job done for most customers. Unless they need heavy analytics or 500 seats, or killer reporting. You won't get that from Infusionsoft. You do get all in one.

Recommendations

Work with someone who knows what they are talking about. Pay a trusted adviser to guide you on suitability of the solution. Make sure they are objective, not trying to sell you their solution.

If you are sitting in a seminar and get excited enough by the newest, shiny object being pitched from the stage, and you wonder why your team is just shaking in their boots when you come back to the office so excited to tell them they have to learn another stupid software thing. (The software is not stupid. The humans who buy software on a knee-jerk reaction in a seminar, are acting stupid).

I can easily take almost any sales or marketing process and automate it. For example, if someone calls my office asking for more information, I ask them for their name, number and either an email address or physical address I can send the information to.

I fill out one form with this information and InfusionSoft sends a series of emails and/or physical mail to the requestor. Then, in about 4 days, I get a notification to call them back and follow-up on the information I sent them. I don't have to remember, because it does the thinking and follow-up for me.

Also, I realized I was wasting about 1-2 hours everyday just sending people information, because I had to find the file, write an email/letter, attach the file/print the letter, and then send the email or mail the letter.

Now the system does that for me, and I spend about 10 minutes a day sending information. Now I can focus on selling rather than prospecting, which I enjoy much more.

The thing I don't like very much is that I have to use a third party plug-in so my clients can set up appointments with me, which comes at an extra cost. I wish the software had that built in, but setting up the appointment software was pretty simple.

Recommendations

Don't think that InfusionSoft is only for people who sell stuff online. I provide consulting services and don't sell anything online, and it has really helped automate a lot of simple time wasting activities for me.

Also, their Kickstart services are pretty good. But if you really want to maximize your time with the consultant, then spend a few hours watching some of the webinars and try to build a simple campaign in the software. I did this and it really helped me get started quicker than most.

If you're going to invest the money into a system like this, then you might as well learn a little bit about it so you can start using it asap.

First, customer service has been usually outstanding. Good at worst.

Like any software product, there's room for improvement such as being able to split test an email headline. Or knowing when I should be on Firefox or Chrome when things get buggy.

Since there is so much on IS, there is a learning curve. But I hear, once you get it, it rocks. So I'm still in the learning phase of understanding and wish there were more videos that go along with the types of marketing we do so I wouldn't have to call in as much.

If you're ready to scale up and begin automating your process, it's worth the investment. It'll leverage the work you've already done.

What's made InfusionSoft the killer app for our small business is the cutting edge automation centered in their campaign builder. While the level of complexity that allows you to automate so much leads some to call the tool confusing, we've found that with a clear automation plan, InfusionSoft allows us to execute on our vision and create real leverage. It allows us to deliver a high touch marketing and sales experience to our prospective customers.

InfusionSoft is growing very fast in terms of its user base, which can create problems with customer support keeping up to date and maintaining the culture of the company. This is an important part of the decision making process for who you should trust to hold your customer data. That being said, as a 7 year user of the product, I can see that they are getting a handle on this. But at times you'll run into support staff that are not 100% up to speed on this extremely powerful and potentially complex product.

Recommendations

I hear of people bailing on InfusionSoft because they couldn't figure out how to implement it's automation power into their small business. Having looked at and worked with other systems, I can tell you, a simpler solution isn't the answer. Getting clear on what your business really needs automation for is. Get some education on marketing and sales funnel structure, then get the software and you'll be in good shape. Don't look at price, this is as much an investment as buying a building or piece of equipment for a manufacturing business. Look for ROI.

Also, they offer fantastic setup support, and I had my own consultant help me get what I need out of the software. There is also a mobile app that I can set up contacts on the go, a users group I can participate in locally, and they provide models of successful email marketing campaigns from their other users.

They sold me on the dynamics and options the software brings and how they will hand hold me through the company development and support process. What they failed to tell me is that that custom support would come an an expensive price after initial setup.

Recommendations

The software comes with many bells and whistle to accomplish all your objectives. But if you do not know coding or software development then many of these processes to put the system infrastructure in place will cost additional money for that type of support, which can get expensive.

I have yet to find anything to gripe about. I feel like if there's anything remotely negative to say, it's that there's a lot to learn. Not that the software isn't intuitive; there are just a ton of features to educate myself on in order to utilize them all.

Recommendations

Talk to all of them, and know what you need to get out of the software. You can't know what you don't know, but have a list of base needs. Every one of these companies seemed as though they were made for a particular size business; Infusionsoft seemed like it was tailored for my particular small business.

Automated marketing is decent. That's the best thing I can say about them.

I have submitted about 15 bugs to them over two years. Not one of those bugs has been fixed.

Many of my contacts in the CRM were deleted due to an interface flaw in their software. They blamed me and charged me to restore the contacts.

Half the time, when I ask for an update on feature requests and bug fix status, they simply never get back to me.

Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. So many bugs in their program.

Here is one example of their horrible interface and how they refuse to fix the obvious: if I set up an email that I want to send to contacts, there is a small button at the very bottom of the email that cannot be seen unless one scrolls all the way down. This button says "Ready to send". Unless you select Yes, the email will not be sent. Even if I attempt to send the email, I get no warning that I haven't selected Yes for that ridiculous setting. I am told that the email was sent. But guess what: the email is not sent. They refuse to call this a bug and will not fix it.

When selecting fields for a CRM view, there are well over 100 fields to choose from. These fields cannot be searched, they are not in alphabetical order, and there is no rhyme or reason to how they are ordered. It takes so long to create a search as I look through the fields and try to find the ones I want.

They claim to have a survey tool. It is so bad that they don't even use it. They sent me a survey about their software using SurveyChimp and not their own software. What does that say about their program?

I could go on and on. Their management there is the worst. They keep trying to add things to the software without fixing anything left behind. They pound you with ads for their conferences, which of course make them money. But they won't fix bugs, and they won't listen to feature requests. Stay away from them at all costs.

Recommendations

Make sure you test out everything, especially the flow of the interface. Don't believe their hype. InfusionSoft promises everything but is terrible at nearly everything they do.

The transition from our legacy system to InfusionSoft has been terrible. The vendor might have a great product but not for those of us you already have a CRM wanting to shift our data over to their system. This is foundational to get any current user to switch, and they do not help. They did not earn their setup fee at all.

Recommendations

Make sure they can transfer data and get it guaranteed in writing first.

I like the commitment of the company to educate the user. It's gratifying to know that there's probably a webinar for whatever you need help with and that tech support is available for those who aren't necessarily visual/tactile learners. It helps to know there's a safety net if you get stuck, as opposed to other softwares that may have a "well, you bought it-you figure it out" approach.

We went through a third-party consultant who was supposed to build and set up InfusionSoft for us based on a referral. The individual dropped off the planet mid-install and we received no training. We would have saved valuable time and saved ourselves frustration instead of thinking we had to go through that individual to get set up, and could have converted our system to InfusionSoft months ago.

Recommendations

I have had experience with three other CRM/RMS systems, and InfusionSoft blows them all away in terms of looks, ease of use, intuitiveness, and support. The openness of the community makes it easy to help yourself when you need it. Don't expect to run right out of the box. If this is your first CRM set-up, take your time and be patient. It's worth it to do it right the first time. And sign up for the webinars. You won't be sorry.

We as a small company love the benefits of both managing leads as well as the opportunity to mass market under the same system. Both are very easy to do which is great from a time management perspective. The customer service is excellent. I have been very satisfied with the support I get when I call about issues or questions.

Some issues I have are the mobile app from a lead management standpoint could have more options. It allows you to add contacts and look up contacts, but trying to manage those contacts from the app is not an option. I do believe they are working on this and if they add managing leads and contacts from the app it would help for those that are more mobile in their daily schedule.

if you are looking for an all in one package, this is a great tool. We evaluated several products and felt for the size and scope of our company this was the best fit for both managing leads as well as the mass marketing and follow up scheduling capabilities.
