Great Small Business CRM

I've used many systems in my career, especially since I've spent my entire career to date in the software industry. InfusionSoft quickly proved to be a small business platform that can truly automate your business. Whether you need to get up and running fast, or your business is complex and needs to be highly configured, InfusionSoft is still your best bet. It's so easy to setup everything from workflows, opportunities, email templates and even campaigns. The marketing automation and campaign creation was very new to me, and I quickly found out how easy it is to setup goals and the workflow needed within InfusionSoft.

My only dislike is that when you search for something, you have to specify whether its a contact or company. Many other systems don't require you to specify that information and just do a search all for you.

Recommendations

InfusionSoft has the tools within the product as well as the marketplace to get the job done for you. Since they love small businesses, you can trust that the product works for you and the price will fall in line to meet your needs and budget.

Good product for marketing, bad company to deal with.

Ease-of-use

There is a learning curve that is not hard to understand, it just takes some time to get used to what you are looking at and understand how all the pieces fit together.

Functionality

We were told it could be used as a marketing and scheduling software and keep track of our database. We found out that that was not the case. It is strictly an email marketing software that automates all your email marketing and follow-up.

Product Quality

Once you have it set up, you don't have to do anything to continue to market to that prospect.

Customer Support

Once I purchased it, it was hard to nail down training times with my success coach. He claimed he was very busy and I could only book at his convenience. He had an agenda for training and avoided answering specific questions that he knew were going to be a deal breaker till after the 30 days of training.

Once it is set up, it is the perfect partner for an auto-responder marketing campaign.

Infusionsoft is a very immature company. They over promised and under delivered. They offered a money back guarantee and when we got to the point in their training where it was obvious their product was not a good fit for our company, they refused to make good on their guarantee.

Recommendations

It is a good product if you rely heavily on an auto responder to drive your marketing. It will take a dedicated person to get the product up and running. Infusionsoft as a company is chintzy with their training time. (I suspect that is part of allowing the training to go past 30 days so they don't have to refund your money.)

InfusionSoft has changed the way we do business for the better.

Ease-of-use

The whole idea of automating a sequence of communications with prospects and customers is relatively new. Thinking through the strategy is difficult. Although, InfusionSoft makes it relatively easy to implement once you really know what you want to do.

Functionality

It really does everything I need. The marketing automation and the e-commerce really work for me.

Product Quality

The software works and is constantly improving. I have not found anything that does not work as it is supposed to.

Customer Support

They answer the phone and respond to online chats. I have had all of my issues resolved.

I am able to organize all of my information about clients and prospects, but most of all, I am able to automate the process of keeping in touch with them. I have lead magnets on my homepage that links to a sequence of emails that qualify prospects and help me develop a relationship with them automatically.

There are some complexities to using the advance features, but the basics are simple.

Recommendations

This is a relatively new category, so it is kind of difficult to evaluate. I recommend figuring out what you really need and then see if InfusionSoft fits. I used their Customer Lifecycle Workbook and identified some valuable things that I could implement.

Constantly improving platform that will handle just about everything.

Ease-of-use

There is a learning curve, but they are doing everything they can to make it easier.

Functionality

I still need SMS and responsive layouts for everything my leads will see. Most of my traffic is mobile and I'm embarrassed to send them to the pages and forms I create in InfusionSoft.

Product Quality

There have been some glitches that have been really scary for me. Sometimes little things that are changed in an update aren't notated in the release notes. One in particular cost us a lot of money. Had we known about it, it wouldn't have been much of an issue.

Customer Support

It is hit and miss. Some of the support people know their stuff and some seem to be reading from an instruction manual that I've already gone through.

I do run into limitations when I try to do more advanced things. It often requires one or more 3rd party tools to do everything I need.

Great Tool for Staying Organized!

Ease-of-use

Once your campaign is set up (assuming it's done right the first time), this makes work so easy!

I'm certain I haven't unlocked the full potential of InfusionSoft, but so far it's been fantastic!

The layout is clear and simple. Functions can be renamed to fit more appropriately to our uses and company.

The My Day function has become my best friend at work. It is easy to use and keeps me organized with little effort on my part. The online chat service is fantastic! The people are knowledgable and very helpful!

Occasionally, the Campaign Builder can be confusing, but I don't know that it can be further simplified. I would love to have the ability to copy and paste a contact's picture to their profile. Some features (like alphabetizing contacts) seem to be buried and require a deeper understanding of the software, but the online chat help is good for things like this.

Recommendations

Be sure to utilize the training videos and online help as you set up the software to what you need. It is very adaptable to various functions, but be patient. That flexibility also means a lot of knowledge or help is required.

I didn't have any training, and I was able to use the program's basic functions.

There are lots of help features, but, truthfully, I haven't had to use any yet.

It's very self explanatory. If you are coming from Salesforce, little things might hang you up, but it's much quicker to get used to it.

Functionality

The functions of InfusionSoft are excellent out of the box and can be enhanced with added features available in the marketplace.

Product Quality

The value of the features collected and offered in InfusionSoft is outstanding.

Customer Support

Support is top-notch. They are available via the phone or live chat, and wait times have always been pretty short. I think I may have waited 6 or 7 minutes on a live chat queue. The reps are very knowledgeable and provide pertinent links in the support answers they provide.

The automation opportunity makes sure that things don't get forgotten, provided you have your campaigns setup correctly. They are constantly updating and upgrading things. Tags and saved searches make it easy to setup common tasks or provide a jumping off point for new users or when setting up a new office.

On the sales side of things, you are not able to have a subscription item with a setup fee. It must be a bundle of a one time charge service combined with the subscription. This bundle then needs to have a special link created so that the purchase is handled correctly. There isn't any way to make a manual order and combine the two.

Recommendations

Like any CRM, you need to use it for it to be effective. If you don't, it's very hard for it to do what it was made for.

I have used IS for about six months now to track contacts and leads

It's not very intuitive on the campaign side of things.

It gives us good data based on the ability to pick up marketing where we left off with the recording capabilities.

Product Quality

The quality is good, but as a designer, I sometimes have to put myself in my client's shoes and see if what makes total sense in my mind and my way of thinking is easily understood by the end-user.

Customer Support

I talked with customer support and it seemed like they didn't have an answer to the issue I had, but I gave them a work around that I figured out.

Likes Best

I like the ability to record tasks and emails in one place so that when I call a client, I have the history in front of me. I also like the weather widget showing the weather in their location, because you can always have a conversation about the weather!

I don't like how I cannot sort the contacts alphabetically (at least I can't figure out the way if there is one). I also don't like how I have to scroll back up to the top of the page to click on the next page. It would be nice if the next page could be selected at either the top or bottom of the list of contacts on the page (does this make sense)? I also don't like how when applying a tag, I have to click "Apply this tag" instead of just clicking save. It seems like an extra step that is easily overlooked and frustrating. It's not very intuitive (at least for my brain) on the campaign setup and implementation.

Recommendations

Give yourself some time to get use to it.

It is very intuitive and easy to use. What else can I say.

The drag-and-drop campaign and email builders are awesome. I love the new quick add for contacts too.

Functionality

It does everything they said it would. Sometimes, I do get a bit frustrated when building and editing documents that usually consist of more content, though, like a newsletter. It would be nice if you could place multiple snippets in a line horizontally to create three photo links at the bottom of the newsletter. Other than that, I love it. Newsletters have never been so easy.

Product Quality

I love InfusionSoft. As they continue to perfect it and work out kinks, it is continuously becoming a more effective tool.

Customer Support

Customer Support was very helpful through training in the kickstart package. They did always seem rushed, though, which was pretty frustrating. I tried to be prepared for our phone conferences, but some introduction and a slower walkthrough or demo would have been helpful.

I love that Infusionsoft is full of down-to-earth and friendly small business people catering to small business people. Those I had contact with were very passionate about their job and enthusiastic about everything. It was a total joy getting to work with them.

When working with marketing campaigns, errors sometimes occur. I can't always locate where the error is rooted from, which makes me think that InfusionSoft is still working out some glitchy things from being newer software. However, we just sent out our first email broadcast to 250+ prospects and are excited about the simple customization of marketing tools and campaigns that InfusionSoft offers.

Recommendations

Just dig in and learn it. InfusionSoft is a powerful tool if you are willing to jump in and learn. It will operate on its own, but not until you initially tell it what to do!

It takes a little training, but they have ongoing support that is awesome. I've been very satisfied with their customer support.

My only complaint is that we can't receive emails directly to IS. It would be nice to have one place to check emails to and from our customers. But, I think that may be because of our specific email client.

It does what it says it will. We have been very satisfied with InfusionSoft! Great product!

I only have a small complaint. When you search for a customer, click on a field, and start typing, it will jump to the first name field when you are part way through. So you have to click again on the field you were typing in and start over or just wait longer to start typing. It's not a big deal, but when it happens over and over, it's annoying.

For a small company, InfusionSoft is the best option. We looked at several different software options. After researching and talking with several different vendors, we went with InfusionSoft. We have been very satisfied.

Powerful and Professional

It's not intuitive. I spend a lot of time looking for things that should be clearly evident, especially on the Contacts page. I still don't understand tags after all this time.

Functionality

It meets more than my needs. I wish I could use all the features, but I don't have the budget, time, or the internal support from the sales team to put it all to use.

Product Quality

This product is not WYSIWYG. It's complicated to learn, and the jumpstart trainers often talk in jargon since they're so used to the product. The video tutorials are cumbersome and a little too superficial.

Customer Support

The jumpstart startup support is great, and the available online and phone support is also excellent.

Customer training and support is great. This product/service does everything and then some. They have a great response time to inquiries. It gives good analytics.

It may be too powerful for my needs. There's a lot in this package that I won't ever be able to use because we are such a small business. Each user costs additional, so that limits the usefulness for small businesses with small budgets.

Recommendations

Be sure you need something this powerful. The demos don't cover all the capabilities or all the costs. And make sure you have adequate time set aside to learn it inside and out. It could use a half-time person just to use InfusionSoft to its fullest.
