Marketo is a marketing automation system designed to help sales and marketing professionals collaborate more closely throughout the sales cycle. It is a robust solution for B2B marketers and is especially popular among technology companies. Marketo’s software can handle clients with a user base ranging from three users to more than a thousand users, but its price point makes it ideal for mid-market and enterprise organizations. Since its foundation in 2006, Marketo has experienced enough momentum to make it the fastest growing marketing automation vendor on the market.

Marketo's marketing automation software has capabilities in lead management, lead nurturing, database management, territory assignment, social media integration, campaign management and analytics. In particular, Marketo offers a process-driven automated campaign builder, which provides more flexibility and scalability than the traditional if/then campaign builders. Customers will experience increased flexibility with the “Sandbox” application, which allows organizations to create a copy of the software for testing, development, modification and training purposes

Marketo marketing automation offers a web-based deployment model where all data and information is hosted off-premise in Rackspace’s secure data centers. Marketo products are built on the LAMP stack, and the EXT JS Java Script Library provides a desirable user iterface. The use of these open standards enables Marketo to offer integration with a range of third-party applications and data sources. For further integration capabilities, Marketo has built several products, such as Sales Insight, on the Force.com platform, providing out-of-the-box integration with Salesforce.com apps.

Marketo has an outstanding product and great support, but their greatest strength is their leadership in terms of where marketing and marketing automation are headed. Marketers are constantly challenged to improve on their strategies and programs, so choosing a partner who will keep you on the leading edge of this rapidly evolving space is critical. Marketo has successfully created a tool that is both feature-rich and easy to use. We have needed zero IT support to implement e-mail campaigns, landing pages and lead scoring and the Salesforce integration is very tight.

To help you make the most of the solution, Marketo provides you with lots of great tools, content and ideas on how to succeed with marketing automation - key resources in leveraging any tool. The product is backed by an excellent team of people who are extremely responsive to customers, from leadership to the customer support to the product team. If you recognize that choosing a marketing automation solution is equal parts the tool itself and the partner behind it, then Marketo is the right choice for you.

I can't express how much easier Marketo makes my life. I am the events manager at my company, and I use Marketo's lead management functionality to send out my invitations, set up my registration pages and manage my attendee lists.

Marketo was great before - but now, with the new Programs & Events release, it is AMAZING! We have a small marketing department, so I am responsible for every aspect of an event, from start to finish and beyond with our follow-up program. From roadshows, trade shows, and dinners to parties, dinners, and meet-up groups - you name it, I handle it though Marketo. I love being able to tie all my assets together under an event, and being able to clone an entire event saves time and allows me to focus on other aspects of the event. It also helps me easily track my cost-per-lead and figure out which events are driving the most leads and helping us close the most deals.

With 15 different events planned over the next four months, in cities all across the world, I am going to be on the road a ton. It's key for me to be able to set everything up in advance and know that it will just GO when it needs to. Furthermore, being able to check on it from anywhere in the world with the touch of a button brings me huge peace of mind. After the event, our programs manager can funnel our leads through our nurturing program until they are ready to be engaged. Our sales team loves this because they can focus on working with an opportunity, not looking for one.

I can't rave enough about their support. The community helps me solve so many different "How do I do this?" questions. When I have best practice questions, I can reach out to other Marketo users for guidance. On the rare occasions we have had to contact support for a technical issue, they get back to us ASAP - even for small concerns.

In summary, Marketo is the best!
