I have been a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Customer for the past three years. About a year ago, we almost didn't renew because we were no longer happy with the product. However, after we expressed all of our concerns to our Salesforce rep they were able to make adjustments and I now have no complaints. This tool is great and we are seeing a good ROI on our investment. Their new content builder tool makes it easy to create emails even if you don't know HTML and if you pay for premier support you really get top notch help when needed.

-Easy to create beautiful emails
-Great customer support

Cons

They like to nickle and dime you for a lot of features. The product can be great - if you're willing to pay a lot.

Advice to Others

Paying for premier support is worth the investment. It's night and day better than the basic support we used to have.

Salesforce is an extremely powerful and useful tool. I would recommend it to any large scale business that has many accounts and needs to stay on top of all of them all the time.

After working for a company who provided Salesforce for our use, was highly disappointed that my new company was using printed out excel spreedsheets -love the capabilities and price point for single user.

Pros

Am able to update and access the act info via smart phone!

Cons

High cost prohibits me from using Salesforce in conjunction with Badger maps.

Advice to Others

It is very useful with all the features it has to offer. I was a Marketing Manager at my previous job and used this software daily. Once all the data is imported it is pretty simple to use from there. For those who are manually entering the data, I would suggest to fill out all the fields in order to get the most out of everything. I like all the dashboards and are very user friendly. It makes Social Media marketing easy! All the platforms are offered and tracks analytics for each post.

Pros

The best part is that Salesforce customer service is pretty spot on when I asked for tutorial videos or was stuck on something. I emailed them and they called me as soon as possible. I would talk to the customer service representatives for hours and they would walk me step by step.

Cons

The reports when exported are not very appealing. I wish they were formatted differently. It is a little pricey, but you do have a to work with.

Advice to Others

Make sure you watch the tutorial video and really get to know your product in order to be able to use it at its full capacity.

Salesforce isn't the easiest to set up and integrate, but when you get there, you're likely to be happy. Infinite availability of modules. Integrates with almost anything. Encourages cross-team communications. Great support from the vendor, and strong community of users and third-party integrators. My favorite CRM solution.

Learning curve on configuration is a bit steep. The flexibility makes it less likely to be usable out-of-the-box.

Recommendations

Larger shops with larger datasets will benefit from the advantages of Salesforce. Not so good for small shops.

Its very user friendly from the beginning to the end of quote generation, store the price list, store contacts as data base, request a follow up reminder, create customized templates.

First time user need a free training, as there are loads of information to digest.

Recommendations

I love that Salesforce can cover so many different facets all tailored to just about any business. For example, if your business does not have or intend to have a social presence, then you will not need the social media access for social listening, etc. I was impressed to learn how to map out journeys of ideal customers then setup analytics on behaviors and actions to track the progress.

Truly nothing. I wish I could have used every single feature but I was only able to experience parts based on what my client used. During a long engagement, I was able to help my client set up automated email marketing campaigns then track the progress along a defined journey to generate leads. Great interface. Sorry, this asked what I liked least and I lost track.

Recommendations

Schedule a consultation with Salesforce so they can help you decide what features/packages will meet your business needs. Ask for a free trial and really take the time to get comfortable with it. I imagine their conversion of free trials must be pretty high.

The only thing is if I don't remember to enter a call ( which I don't do ) I would have a problem because I depend on the app

ITS A MUST HAVE!! Any CRM is better than none. That said, the program can save business if a disgruntled employee leaves. If you have a CRM you are fine and somebody else can pick up and know what accounts were being called on.

The UI is not always intuitive...The platform moves really slow at times..some issues with compatibility in Chrome
