ADP Workforce Now is a human capital management solution for companies with more than 50 employees. Its core capabilities include human resources management, payroll, benefits, talent management, compliance, time and labor management and analytics and benchmarking.

The fully integrated suite is built on a single database, which automates data synchronization across different components and helps users to minimize manual administrative tasks. The platform also integrates with other HR and business applications via the ADP Marketplace and APIs.

With ADP Workforce Now, clients also receive self-service tools for employees and manager, such as the widely used ADP Mobile app, to access paychecks, W-2s, timecards, benefit information and more; proactive compliance and regulatory alerts; external perspectives on making HR and business decisions with the help of ADP Benchmarking, the ADP Research Institute and ADP Professional Services; and access to a client community with more than 50,000 peers.

It is a user-friendly system. The paychecks feature and functionality is great. You are able to see and image of the paycheck via a mobile device.
I also enjoy the ability I have to see the status of requests and who needs to review such requests. I like that the benefit election walked me through each step as well. Mobile features and functionality a plus and the ability to easily group all paychecks is helpful. Paychecks are easy to read and edit from an employee and administrator lens.

In general, the ADP WorkForce Now product (I am using v. 12) is reliable and easier to use than previous versions.
ADP has done a great job updating the workflows and the User/Employee experience to make this more user-friendly.

My technology role as a broker allows me to suggest better solutions to ADP for their service opportunities; if they listen and employ more personalized service for their WFNow clients, they really could be a great solution for the middle market size. To me, the lack of service focus is the one thing holding them back.

Pros

They appear to be putting in the work to prepare WFNow for the future with API's (apps) and making it easier to connect to other platforms
The system generally works as it should. ADP has prepared some helpful "just in time" learning sites for online support.

Cons

Personalized Service is sorely lacking for groups under 1000 with ADP; once you implement, you are left on your own to figure things out and must call an 800# to get help. Unless they have used ADP before, HR has a hard time figuring out how to get new things done in WFNow, such as add a new plan, update EDI, etc.

Advice to Others

There are two primary obstacles: not having a personal contact and not being able to resolve issues quickly. These are very important issues, especially for the rates companies are paying for the services. There are options such as Comprehensive Services where you can outsource most of the benefits and payroll (for a fee), but most ADP clients is not familiar with these options. Take advantage of in-person and online training with your local sales office as much as possible.

Our company has been using ADP Time and Attendance for over a month now we love the flexibility and easy functionality of this product. We are able to clock in and out via mobile device, request time off, still, do reporting and much more.

Pros

Cloud Based, and mobile functionality is practical and easy. And very reasonable in Price.

Cons

It became a total harassment with this company. Constant phone calls and emails. Even when I stated that we were not interested.

Pros

Has what we need.

Cons

They basically harass you. I finally had to block them.
Hidden fees they don't tell you about unless you specifically ask them the individual fees. You have to be specific about the fees you are asking about.

I used ADP while working in HR at ARAMARK. We used ADP for accounting purposes. This program was not as easy to learn but once you got it I rarely had problems.

Pros

Access to employee information all in one centralized place.

Cons

Learning Curve. Takes about 6 months at least to be completely independent.

Advice to Others

I recently went through implementation with this software. After analyzing several other vendors, we chose this system because all modules were housed under one platform which was important to the company.

Pros

I recently went through implementation with this software. up with different levels of users for editing and viewing. There is plenty of training available in all forms (except face to face). ADP is a large corporation that is financially sound.

Cons

As far as cons, the implementation took longer than expected and a requested timeline couldn't be provided. We had multiple contacts during implementation which got confusing and we were inundated with emails from different people. The platform had limited customization features which caused frustration with a bigger and complex firm.

Advice to Others

Be sure to look at 3-4 vendors before making a decision on an HRIS. Each system can be great but what is most important is which one works for YOUR company.

ADP has been a great step up from a custom low-end HRMS we previously had. It has required a bit of configuration tweaks to fit into a nonprofit world of business, but the ADP team has been helpful and willing to provide advice as we have implemented various modules.

ADP - Not Great in Chrome?

I have had several issues when trying to perform basic tasks such as requesting time off or changing my profile content. In fact, I had to switch from Chrome into IE to use ADP just this morning - shouldn't it be compatible with all major browsers?

We implemented ADP Workforce Now and it was a nightmare for us. Customer service was sub par- we were batted back and forth between departments- no one wanted to take ownership and help resolve our concerns or answer our questions. After a year, we will be looking to move over to an alternate system because things really have not improved.

I have used ADP for several years and have been very happy with the product and customer support. It is easy to use for payroll purposes and has great multi functionality. However, the reporting could be easier to use and have more customization options. It also seems that every time I need to utilize a new feature it is an additional cost which includes heavy implementation costs even though the majority of the implementation is self service.

I have enjoyed my working relationship with our Client District Manager and Executive Relationship Manager over the years. ADP has provided our company with accurate and timely payroll for all of our employees throughout the United States. They have also provided comfort with remaining compliant as it relates to our multiple tax filings and also, our employee wage garnishments.

Pros

ADP Workforce Now is easy to use and the report writing system provides information necessary for our senior management requests. ADP has always been willing to go above and beyond when we have needed them to (in a state of crisis...). That really matters to me.

Cons

Having to log in a number of different times throughout the day, due to time lapse sessions (security reasons).

Advice to Others

Communicate your needs and wants well to ADP and they will deliver. Have patience (!) during the implementation phase and ask questions along the way.
