ADP is a large company that owns a large part of the market. They are an old system that has not made any moves to be cloud based and to one platform. there are a lot of "work arounds" that are needed to make their software work which causes a lot of other issues. Customer service is bad. No one will call you back to answer questions or help you understand why you are waiting 6-8 weeks for a simple W-2 change.

Pros

Self Service - Employees
Benefits Administration
Ease of Clock in and out for staff
Visually pleasing features

Cons

Reporting
Not one platform
Bad Customer Service
System Down repeatedly
charges for EVERYTHING
when you have more than 1 EIN, they are not likely to sync them all even if you ask them to

There are better alternatives out there.

Pros

They originally were a payroll company, so that they do quite well. Customer Service is normally helpful, though you never know who you are going to talk to.

Cons

They're software is cumbersome and confusing. Not intuitive at all. They are trying to make it better with regular updates, but they should probably just start over from scratch.

Pros

ADP afforded us the ability to house on our own server if desired. We can set up customized templates. We are able to input unlimited scheduling options to meet the needs of our various facilites.

Cons

The export/import of information can be tricky. (however this is due to our housing it on our server) The rest of the information and entry is fairly straight forward. I find it difficult to figure out how to run customized reports. Customer service is virtually non-existent.

Pros

ADP Workforce Now is a good HR software. It provides what we need as a company. As a new user of the software, it is user friendly and it does have helpful features. I enjoy the learning bytes because it has accessible learning material.

Cons

Their current recruitment module is not mobile friendly. Would like to have more filter features to organize and manage the requisitions. You can't customize some formats of the layout of the recruitment module or the ADP home page for the quick links.

At the end of the day, ADP plays the market, that's what they're good at. They add all these software to fluff up those revenues but they're there to hold you in as long and as hard as they can by making the thought of leaving dreadful.

Pros

ADP WFN does payroll quite well (provided everything is mapped properly), it's robust and able to handle all details that impact payroll as well as those that are impacted by payroll.

Cons

The HRM side needs more work, getting answers can be like pulling teeth, different tech support, sales, specialists will tell you different things. I am quite underwhelmed thus far with ADP as a whole.

Pros

The platform is easy to use and allows for a lot of customization for employees. The wizards make on boarding and off boarding a breeze. I like that I was able to customize the homepage and add important documents for employees to access.

Cons

Healthcare integration was not simple at all. There are too many steps to enroll and terminate an employees benefits which allows for too much room for error. That is my only complaint is I had too many issues with the benefits team and getting things done. It also should include benefits support from start to finish. COBRA administration had to be done through a separate provider which for me is just too many hands in the pot.

I have dealt with adp for many years before now and had never had these issues just seems like something is going on internally in which there is no one manning the ship you can barely get a manager on the phone.

Pros

If you have a very straight forward small organization and barely need an HRIS system (not sure many companies fir into this) then this can work for you.

Cons

Terrible customer service, terrible turnaround time for any changes, not customizable, no after hour service for payroll processing, much of their staff is too new to even understand what you might need, did not submit our taxes on time causing issues with our bank accounts and freezes, and finally their system is always down (time and attendance one day, reports another) which they blame on scheduled maintenance (In the middle of a work day?). All in all the system is very sluggish and the interface is terrible.

Pros

Ease of onboarding, online Open enrollment processing,Off boarding, reporting writing, Overall there are more pro's than Cons.

Performance Management, not enough leeway in setting up internal career center- can't really brand it; career center limitations regarding candidate job search capability - they cannot search by geographic location or job title; No quick manual I can refer to- every time I have an issue I have to contact the center which can take up to 10 minutes to speak to someone. There are way too many moving parts to Workforce Now not to have a quick handy reference guide.

Pros

First - ADP is always making changes and improvements to their web-based software. (Also - the fact that it's web-based enables our managers to run payroll for their department even when not in the building.)
In the past few years we've been using ADP, the portal gets more and more user-friendly, with a clean large-buttoned home screen.

Their customer service is second-to-none; we rarely have an issue getting through to someone (occasional long hold times) and every representative we've spoken to has always been helpful and friendly.

They also do a great job of updating their software to keep up with the latest in ACA rules and regulations as well.

Cons

We self-file our taxes, and each quarter we have to specifically request ADP provide certain reports. We would prefer the reports be automatically available either via their main portal or through the iReporting software.

We use this product for payroll and to communicate info to employees.

Pros

ADP is an industry standard. Lots of companies use ADP so a lot of times employees are familiar with the system and it makes it easier to train.

Cons

The software has a mind of it's own. I have seen discrepancies in what administrators on the account can see in an employees profile versus what the employee who has a standard user account can see on their own profile. For example, there was a discrepancy in what an employee could see as their vacation balance versus what the admin could see. I understand that things can go wrong with technology, but it also doesn't help when customer service can't figure out the problem or the solution. Also, customer service makes promises to call you back but rarely do.

Secure, dependable and user friendly payroll processing. A time and attendance system. Reporting functions that allow us to track and report critical information that helps us run a better company. Offsite support and a system that is always rolling out updates and training. This is a great system for the medium to large business. You cannot go wrong with this program.

Pros

Workforce Now has changed from being a time and attendance and payroll system to a Human Resources tool I cannot do without.
I am a one person Human Resources Department and I need a HR system that can streamline and support the many functions I deal with on a daily basis. Workforce Now (WFN) does that and so much more. WFN comes with dozens of preloaded reports that allows me to run employee rosters, payroll reports, attendance reports, cost of labor by hours and earnings. It tracks tax information and General Leader Reports for our accounting department. Employees are able to electronically request time off and get manager approvals emailed to their cell phones or home computers. Managers and supervisors can make notes right in the employees electronic file so there is always a record of items they can use when doing annual reviews or disciplinary action meetings.
There is so many options available. Making sure employees get paid properly is critical, but this system and the ADP support team take payroll to a whole new level! ADP has been working diligently to make this system a workhorse in the HR department. The updates keep this system cutting edge, yet user friendly and easy to run. You will not have to worry about having outdated and stale software in a year. There is always something being improved. Just in case something does come up, WFN has a solid support team that you can reach out to for questions and assistance. And they are only a phone call away.

Cons

What do I like least? I only have a couple of issues, and the pro's far outweigh the concerns, but it seems like the support team is very busy on some Monday's and Tuesday's. When you try to call in for support the wait times can be a little long. I have learned to plan ahead and call early. If you want a least like about the software specifically then that is more difficult to answer. I guess I'd say the learning curve can feel a little intimidating when you first start to using WFN. Help is only a phone call away or a quick look up in the integrated help screens.

The system has gone down a few times, so we were not able to clock in on time-- creating more work for our managers.

Old school if that is what you like

Pros

A lot of companies use this. It is common for most HR professionals to have experience with it. Most people started off with ADP.

Cons

No support. Cumbersome layout. Reports are inflexible. Always speaking to different people for support. Never know who is on your account.

Pros

The end user experience is pretty intuitive and much more so for managers with many direct reports. The software integrates pay changes and reviews and is very helpful with auditing/reporting functionalities.

Cons

Software did get glitchy at times with freeze outs and hourly workers unable to clock in / out and creating a backlog of timecard edits that could not be done in bulk.

Pros

Having all of my pay and tax documents in one location. It is also extremely useful for tracking vacation and sick time.

Cons

I have bookmarks for ADP and ADP Workforce Now and frequently log in to the wrong one. Arguably I can just delete the less-used bookmark, but I am not completely sure what its purpose is yet.

It seemed easier to use before the last update. Now it is a little more of a challenge to find what you need to request time off or make changes.

Pros

When it comes to workforce management, especially when you work for a large company, reliability is paramount. ADP has provided reliability consistently for the entirety of my experience using their products/services. They have grown and evolved and have been able to retain their reputation of being a brand you can trust to deliver what you need, efficiently.

Cons

I don't usually like to knit-pick, but that's really the only way I can speak to any downfalls for ADP WorkforceNow. The dropdown menus on the webite are laggy sometimes. That's essentially it.
