Powerful and user friendly software. Easy navigation through the different menu options. Customer Support is top notch too. Their reps are very helpful and have assisted in product education.

Pros

The functionality of Workforce Now is perfectly suited for our business needs. Haven't had many issues with the product, and as a new user, the Customer Service team always guides me through to the end. Really appreciate their support.

Cons

The message center is a bit clunky.

Advice to Others

Definitly reach out and ask about a demo to see how Workforce Now will give you one less thing to worry about in your business.

Easy user interface. Good for small to medium size companies. Initial set up will make some effort. ADP support sometimes is not that great. Will need to deal with different representatives to set up each different functions. After setup, customer support during peak time is a pain. Will have to wait for a long while in order to talk to someone, and it will largely depend on the CS rep you talk to. Sometimes will be given the wrong solution and have to go through the process again.

ADP is not intuitive or user friendly. The processes to make modifications to customize the software are more complex and less transparent than necessary in this digital era. It seems to me the sum of ADP's parts add up to an extremely fragmented whole. Customer service is a tortuous labyrinth of a lot of hold time coupled with a lot of talk that often ends with no solution.

Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

Refer to my review.

Advice to Others

I would steer clear of ADP. Consider the cost of your time and frustration when shopping for an HRSI provider.

I always say I love ADP's features and functionality. ADP Workforce Now allows us to take the business forward as the HR environment also goes cloud based. The features are rich and engaging which makes it very simple for anyone who has never utilized ADP Workforce Now to be able to easily adapt. Everything from payroll systems, to benefits enrollments, and talent development (including performance reviews and recruitment) can all be brought into one place under one program and under one login. For medium to large size companies ADP Workforce Now is definitely a good way to go, especially if the business is trying to bring everything under one program or platform instead of utilizing several vendors/programs for multiple services, for example, a separate vendor for payroll, a separate vendor for an HRIS (Human Resources Information System) or a separate vendor for an ATS (Applicant Tracking System).

Pros

Features and Functionality
Ease of use
Innovative platform
Engaging and visually appealing

Cons

Cost, it comes at a fairly large cost
Not all inclusive from the standard
Every feature requires a payment to set up (i.e. HR is separate setup fee than Payroll, etc.)
Every feature or "module" is a separate "Implementation Specialist" which can get to be confusing

For the most part ADP workforce now works well for our payroll vendor. When it comes to the benefits portion, however, it is very overpriced for the services you will be getting. For the basic benefits services, you won't even get carrier connections which really becomes necessary when you have multiple healthcare providers in your plan. Instead, you will have to be willing to pay much more and change your platform just so you can have ADP send information to carriers for you when you make a change in the system. Also, they do not support the monthly measurement reporting that is an established ACA option, so if you are using a lookback period then it will work for you, but if not just be aware they don't support the monthly measurement.

ADP works great for payroll! Their customer service is the best I have experienced and they usually solve my issues fast and efficiently. We use them for 3 separate entities (small, medium, and large) and it really does fit out needs here in South Florida.

Pros

The platform is easy to use and very user-friendly. The main page is a good launch pad and it is very self-explanatory to use. You can easily reverse payments, direct deposits, change employee information, tax withholding etc.

Cons

What I do not like about ADP is their HR system. You would think such a strong platform would have a good HR platform built out or a useful integration. As far as I know they do not integrate with any system which is really a deterrent to work with them. Our goal as a "big" small business is INTEGRATION so if they were the partner with more HR and ATS platforms they would be great!

Advice to Others

I would consider the systems you want to implement on a whole before looking at ADP. Like I said before it is a bit complex to integrate so making a good plan about what building blocks and software should be used BEFORE trying ADP would be wise. I am wiring this from a Human Resources point of view so I look to the software for people solutions heavily.

Once equipped with the knowledge to utilize the functionalities of the software, it becomes a great asset to our company/employees. It's a very smart software system.

Pros

My experience with this product allowed me to maintain record keeping of our hourly employees when they clocked in and out. For salary employees, it keeps track of pay stubs and gives you itemized deductions from each paycheck.

Cons

ADP could improve its software by removing modules from the interface that employees do not have access to. For example, a salaried employee does not need access to the time entry module, so remove that button altogether from their interface.

We use ADP as our payroll system. I am on the phone with them daily to fix bugs and offer improvements to their systems. It's not the worst system, but not the easiest system to navigate. ADP workforce now is easy to use the product. Customer support is very prompt. Training are effective.

Pros

Some features are very user-friendly. Customer support is prompt. Trainings are effective.

Cons

More they are trying to enhance it, more they are making it complicated. There are some features which makes no sense to me like choosing a language when my default language set up is English. Sometime you get transferred from HR to payroll and back to HR when you call customer service. Employees keep falling off the benefits plan when there is change of position.

Advice to Others

The core product was very robust. Make sure you think through before you opt for their latest version.

After running on the old 2.0 version, we upgraded to version 10. The look is great and after a learning curve, it is easy to use. The issues are that it is very slow and takes a while to load pages. Other issues include the report writing function which is not good compared to the older versions. It is much more difficult to create a report due to the different formats of the reports.

Pros

Pleasing to the eye
Easier to find information
Recruiting module is much easier to use.

Cons

Report writing
Very slow to load

It is a user-friendly system. The paychecks feature and functionality is great. You are able to see and image of the paycheck via a mobile device.
I also enjoy the ability I have to see the status of requests and who needs to review such requests. I like that the benefit election walked me through each step as well. Mobile features and functionality a plus and the ability to easily group all paychecks is helpful. Paychecks are easy to read and edit from an employee and administrator lens.

In general, the ADP WorkForce Now product (I am using v. 12) is reliable and easier to use than previous versions.
ADP has done a great job updating the workflows and the User/Employee experience to make this more user-friendly.

My technology role as a broker allows me to suggest better solutions to ADP for their service opportunities; if they listen and employ more personalized service for their WFNow clients, they really could be a great solution for the middle market size. To me, the lack of service focus is the one thing holding them back.

Pros

They appear to be putting in the work to prepare WFNow for the future with API's (apps) and making it easier to connect to other platforms
The system generally works as it should. ADP has prepared some helpful "just in time" learning sites for online support.

Cons

Personalized Service is sorely lacking for groups under 1000 with ADP; once you implement, you are left on your own to figure things out and must call an 800# to get help. Unless they have used ADP before, HR has a hard time figuring out how to get new things done in WFNow, such as add a new plan, update EDI, etc.

Advice to Others

There are two primary obstacles: not having a personal contact and not being able to resolve issues quickly. These are very important issues, especially for the rates companies are paying for the services. There are options such as Comprehensive Services where you can outsource most of the benefits and payroll (for a fee), but most ADP clients is not familiar with these options. Take advantage of in-person and online training with your local sales office as much as possible.

I used ADP while working in HR at ARAMARK. We used ADP for accounting purposes. This program was not as easy to learn but once you got it I rarely had problems.
