Cornerstone has several LMS systems out in the market and as one of the biggest players offers a lot of variety in terms of utilization as an LMS. However, because of this they mainly cater to larger organizations, and those who can generally provide an LMS admin. This is due to how long they have been in the market. Although they are creating new platforms for the emerging market *gamification, tracking, social media, etc* this has made it daunting for them to have support for their other platforms.
One of the largest players so a lot of experience.
Knows the inside and out to creating a learning platform.
Great for organizations that have been around for a few years.
Not much of a learning curve takes time to effective manage
Require an LMS admin that most new LMS do not
Very expensive, not good for small organizations.
Like any LMS you want to do your due diligence and see if it fits within your budget and meets your individual criteria.

This is a great product that allows you to create a successful classroom community within your school. There are many features that allow you to generate online discussion among your students and allow them to connect with the course content in engaging ways.
The software was fairly easy to use. Most of my students found it tremendously helpful with the abundance of help videos and content that was available online
The software can be very expensive depending on your schools budget.
I would not get this product unless your whole educational institution in on board and prepared for a slight learning curve.

We have found that for our organization, one which has never had an LMS, the Cornerstone Ondemand LMS has been accepted and is in the process of being integrated in to our culture. We are only 35 days after launch and have already had 1/6th of our organization access elearning courses. Employees have adapted well to accessing the system, requesting elearning courses, and registering for instructor led events. We couldn't be happier!
The ease of use for the end user. The implementation team and process was better than any of the other four LMS products I've participated in implementing in other organizations. The team at Cornerstone is extremely helpful and dedicated to your success.
As with any LMS software, the complexity of the administration functions is always a challenge.
Do your research. Make sure you have a clear understanding of the needs of your organization. One LMS doesn't fit all needs, but Cornerstone is definitely one that should be on your list to consider.

We have worked with Cornerstone over the last 6 years and the adaptation of the LMS was easily streamlined and the services and support we received were excellent. CSOD has made great strides to listen to their clients and adapt the system to be easily customized but at the same time be a great out of the box product.
Phasing out a lot of older products that require new purchases.
Attend user groups, Convergence and use the Client Success Center

As a user & content manager, the software has enough flexibility to make it possible to create curriculum & courses for employees and customers. Once populated they are easy to find and sign up for.

Cornerstone OnDemand is used in our company as a global learning management system. It is now implemented globally across all markets and regions. We want to use Cornerstone OnDemand a as one stop shop for our employees for any type of learnings. So all learning content we have, was or will be migrated to Cornerstone OnDemand.
We are only using the learning cloud. The functionality which exists now is covering most of our scenarios. It also covers specific factory and pharma requirements. We still have a lot of requirements for future enhancements. We believe Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) can do better in reporting and needs to redesign some older modules (like Exams and Evaluations). But in general we are satisfied with CSOD's functionalities.
Great customer support and client approach. Very professional product management team
Cornerstone OnDemand's functionality covers most of the requirements from different industries for both white and blue collar [workers].
Good possibility to configure solution.
Delivering new enhancements with every release (quarterly).
As Cornerstone OnDemand becomes bigger, it is difficult to deliver enhancements with the same speed.
Cornerstone OnDemand needs to increase number of developers to keep same level of enhancements, quality and speed.

My team and I evaluated and implemented Cornerstone's LMS. We liked the functionality of the product and that it had a social media component which allows users to create communities where they can comment or share content. The vendor was easy to work with.
The transition from sales to implementation was relatively smooth but we did have challenges we worked through related to timing and testing but nothing we weren't able to overcome.
Ensure you evaluate several options and have a good idea what you want your users to accomplish with the tool and what the business is trying to drive by implementing and using the tool. You also need to have a good change management plan with communication milestones and events to drive participation.
Candace from Janney
Having a specific success manager to our account. An advocate for our voice. Each client has a great voice.
Some functionality cannot be changed and it drives me nuts. Some things not easy for the user to navigate.
Have actual leaners test the functionality. Try to do something difficult to learn what challenges you will face.

The amount of data it can store and the back end reporting capabilities.
There are too many limitations to what you can and cannot do. Our firm has a hard time developing programs within the LMS because of the restrictions we get with posting content, searching for items, and making changes to the canned content they make available.
Be sure that if you purchase the canned content from them you have a clause, or clearly defined agreement, that defines what they will assist you with and what a reasonable turnaround time should be to get the work complete.
Elena from MoneyGram International
Ability to build curriculum off of individual videos.
It is extremely difficult to get tech support help.
Lack of training materials explaining software functionality.
Consider the size of the organization - this product is designed for larger scale organizations.
Ross from Seattle University
Great customer service. It was a great experience working with the reps.
I found that the training material was a bit slow at times.
Always good to go through the training modules. You will be set up for instant success.
Kristen from Team Rubicon
My review is related to the Cornerstone products that my organization uses: Core, Connect, Learning, Recruiting. I think Cornerstone is a great product and Cornerstone support cannot be beat. I love the fact that Cornerstone is constantly improving itself, with updates and improvements every quarter. Cornerstone support is available in so many different places and formats. It's never far away. On the Cornerstone Success Center, I use the Ask the Expert forum all the time and get answers often within the hour. Suggestion City is a great place to make sure that your wishes for improvements for Cornerstone are heard.
Sometimes I do feel that Cornerstone tries to do everything, so some of the details get missed. I also sometimes feel that Cornerstone focuses on making it easy to use for the end-user, but forgets about making it easy to use for the person implementing content. Content implementation is sometimes counter-intuitive as it seems that it is set up like a programmer would set it up. If you think like a programmer, it makes sense. If you don't, it seems convoluted.
Definitely think about what your organization needs and what your goals are. Make sure that Cornerstone meets your needs and ensures that you will be able to meet your goals.
Ben from Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment
They offer many features. They have many different areas of the tool that could be useful.
Each feature has an additional cost. Also the software is outdated and takes a long time to navigate.
If you don't have a choice, Cornerstone can still be useful. If you want ease of use for learners and admins, turn and run.
Jeremy from NORDAM
The end-user experience is really good. Our end-users have been very pleased with how clean and organized it is, and how easy it is to find everything.
The administration was a nightmare. We had many problems getting what we needed from Cornerstone, as well as from Cornerstones third party vendors. There needs to be more focus on customer service, and more management of their third party vendor.
Ensure the contract is very specific, and make sure you get in writing the amount of time problems will be resolved. It took us over 1 year for implementation because of the problems with customer service.
Johanna from XPO Logistics

The customer service is on point but, from an ease of use perspective I feel like it lacks. Our training department is constantly changing and trying to train someone on Cornerstone I dread the most. There is a great deal of help guides cataloged under help dependent on what page you are on. If it weren't for that, I may have not learned the system at all.
The learning environment lacks clear ways to register temporary users, construct curriculum's with stop-points, and courses are constantly needing to be manually completed.
IF there is an easier to use program, I would try it first before getting under contract.

Goal setting, tracking, the ability to link goals to the organizations goals.
The length of time to pull an org chart - reporting.
It is good for performance management and goal tracking - employees can link goals to the goals of the organization.
Jered from Farm Credit Bank of Texas
There are many features and functions to integrate with a large organization.
Implementation for Cornerstone is handled by third-party vendors. These vendors can be lazy and might try to rush you through implementation which is a huge mistake.
Have clean data... whether you are pulling from AD or somewhere else make sure your data is correct and clean
Jennifer from MicroPort Orthopedics
I implemented CSOD twice within 6 months for two different companies. This system is very robust and flexible. It has an "Amazon-ish" UI which makes for easy acceptance.
It's a complex system, so it can be a challenge for an administrator, but the payoff - the flexibility - makes up for it. There's not much to dislike.
Spend the extra dollars for good admin training. It will save you time, money, and headaches in the long run.
Chelsie from Farm Credit Bank of Texas
I like that they partner you with an implementation expert that is willing to walk you through the launch process.
The online resources can be confusing or out of date. Some of the modules that I took didn't have the most up to date or accurate information.
Make sure that you get a timeline for implementation before you purchase
