Jolt Software


 

Jolt is a Human Resources platform provided by Intuiplan. The system is scalable and appropriate for businesses of varying sizes. Companies in the food and beverage industry, hospitality and travel, retail, and others can use and customize the program to meet their needs.

Core functions include personnel tracking, learning management, performance review, goal management, time and attendance and employee scheduling offered within an integrated suite. Employee scheduling and time and attendance can be purchased as stand-alone capabilities as well. Users also have access to a checklist of daily tasks to be completed by employees on shift. Inspection forms may be produced for management to review standards. Training information, employee announcements, and human resources issues are also manageable through Jolt.

Jolt is both browser agnostic and downloadable onto private servers. The software can be accessed via mobile devices and desktop computers to manage single or multiple business locations.

The actual process of building a checklist or form is quite simple. The vendor is very responsive to requests and eager to assist.

Likes Least

There's nothing negative about the vendor. They are really great to work with. Since I am not using all the features the home screen seems cluttered. Perhaps it's just me getting used to where everything is. A few things that i didn't like have already been corrected by the developers. I only have some minor format issues. The overall product is well thought out.

Recommendations

It's hard to evaluate all the products out there. It takes time to enter your forms, then use them enough to get 'a feel' for them. I put put this product on your short list.

Pros

Very easy to set-up and use. From checklists to labels. Once set-up and implemented it is very easy for your team to use even if they are not technologically savvy!

Cons

The ONLY things that I would want added/changed is some form of advanced logbook. Like a "Google Doc/Spreadsheet" Type format, that all leaders could record in and see the entire log (for example - guest complaints). And/or an easy way to retrieve and look at completed forms from the iPad.

Overall, Jolt is fantastic. There is a bit of a learning curve on some features, but the overall functionality is worth the work put into it.

Pros

Creates accountability, productivity, consistency. This is a wonderful tool.

Cons

Startup price is a bit high, and learning curve for team adaptation is a bit difficult. But isn't everything that's worth it?

Jolt has greatly simplified our day dot process and made it more productive and easy to use for everyone. The forms and checklists are also being used more than they ever were on paper. With paper lists we were always losing them and didn't have a good filing system. Jolt solves all those issues, as well as offers options for greater organization and productivity than we ever had before. And Jolt's customer service is amazing! Whenever I've emailed them with a question they respond within the hour, sometimes within minutes. I cannot express how important good customer service is to me, and they have definitely earned my loyalty with this quality! Highly recommend!

Pros

I like that everything is in one place and easily accessible for the whole team!

Cons

I wish it was a bit clearer on how to set repetitions. It's a little confusing.

A very helpful tool that we use is the label function and creating list. Recently, we have really enjoyed scheduling a business quarterly review and learning what more we can do with using Jolt.

Jolt has helped us keep compliant with date labeling, ease of use for team members, buy-in from team and ownership of list to complete tasks. It has cut down on paper list everywhere or announcements on back of door. Jolt allows us to put it all in the platform and be seen on multiple devises at once.

We transitioned into Jolt back in December. It was a great checklist platform that we have been looking for awhile now. We would have signed up based on the checklist feature along. The scheduling feature is just icing on the cake! Also, the labeling feature has really streamlined our in-house prep and have helped us with FIFO'ing.

The customer support team has been very helpful with the transition. If we have questions, they get back to us immediately. They also listen to our feedback and make adjustments to make the overall experience better. Kudos to them!

Pros

The ease of the checklist and labeling features.

Cons

Scheduling can kind of flake out. Sometimes the cloud doesn't keep up with what we are trying to do.

Use the bulk imports! It makes things a lot easier.

After speaking with a couple of people that work with jolt, they were extremely patient and detail oriented with explaining everything concerning their software. We had a great experience! Customer support representative and the Jolt team are always ready to answer any questions and the software is advancing our store and it's potential. It is a great accountability tool for our business as well.

Pros

I love that you can create all sorts of list and forms and also make them each a different item type.

I wish I could access the information tab and the "+" sign on Jolt lyte.

We have been using Joel for about two months now, and our restaurant has changed so much during that time. It has given our managers a great sense of accountability, in that they can now hold team members accountability for things that they said they did no items get missed because they have to be checked off, no items get done poorly because some items have pictures that need to be taken. It is really helped turn our staff into a better functioning unit.

Jolt has been an absolute game changer within our store. We currently use it for all of our checklists. We also have all of our product training materials in there. By placing Ipads around the store we have been able to supply team members with information instantly, instead of having to search it out on our training web site. Currently, we are looking to change our scheduling over to Jolt, and with the features it provides we are excited.

The ability to view the checklist from home and the archives of lists to keep our temp sheets

The video online for scheduling isn't very helpful

For the short time we have used it so far it seems work work well. There are something I would advise making an option. When something is out of parameters give it an option to change the color.

Overall our questions have been taken care of now it's just making it better for us and any new people who join. She has been great with sending get us hasty emails to our questions.

We have been using Jolt at my restaurant now for around 2 years. We love the customization options that Jolt includes, how easy it is to use, and how much more neat and organized our restaurant looks since we began using Jolt. Jolt has allowed us to toss out our old paper checklists and gave us checklists on tablets. Having our checklists and information all in one place made our checklists easier to access and has given our restaurant a more professional environment. We have also watched the productivity of our team rise as a result of using Jolt in the restaurant. We also use this software to create and send out our weekly shift schedule to the whole team. The mobile app then allows team members to request shift trades when needed straight through the app itself. Then, once a shift trade request has been submitted, the manager of that shift can then approve or deny the shift trade right on the app. This saves time, and is a great deal less effort than having to make phone calls all day to find someone to cover a shift. Myself, as well as my team, highly recommend this software to anyone or any company in need of a game changer. This software will be the tool that helps you and your team get to the next level.

Pros

Cons

Goal setting not built in. App sometimes does not read (connect to) printer on the first attempt.

The support staff has been beyond amazing in supporting our company's first few months on Jolt. She is extremely helpful and doesn't mind walking us through various process multiple times. Jolt is great because of how much it offers, and how many functions you can use it for. However, although she has gone through and helped us out immensely and spent a lot of time getting us started, this system is not easy to use right away. Most functions have so many steps and options that it becomes confusing and overwhelming. I would like Jolt more if it was more user friendly. Overall the product is great, I would like it more if it didn't take so long to figure out and didn't have so many complex options.

Pros

It is a one stop shop for many business needs. Jolt offers so many different functions that make streamlining everything easy.

Cons

This software is more complex and difficult to navigate than any software we have ever used. I don't care for how the scheduling is set up. For example, if we want to change one person's shift, you must first unlock the schedule, change the persons shift, and then publish the schedule again, which notifies every single employee every single time someone else's schedule gets changed. On when to work, all you have to do is click on that person's shift, change it, and once you hit save only they receive the notification.

Advice to Others

It's great software and offers a lot of useful features, but it takes a long time for each person to get trained and able to use with ease.

I have been using Jolt for around 3 years. I have also encouraged many other to use the product in operating their Quick Service restaurants as I feel it is an amazing operational tool.

Prior to using Jolt I was creating my own intranet to manage tasks, projects, employee details, etc.

Jolt could fulfill all of these requirements and ran on IOS making hardware implementation simple.

I have seen the feature set grow over the years and am confident the product will continue to evolve.

Pros

IOS (although would be nice to have it run on Android too,) great at tasks / list management.

Cons

Bad UX design both on client and web / back end. Communications (announcements) requires time clock use (i have submitted this several times). Cannot assign tasks to security groups (only allows individuals), reporting on client is rough. A bit better on backend, but still challenging,.

Advice to Others

If you want to go international I suggest you improve the lite app (inc android) to allow push comms notifications.

Jolt has allowed us to reduce the amount of paper and toner we use on a daily basis. We were able to eliminate 23 paper checklists that we used on a daily basis in our locations. The ease of use on the iPad for our Management teams has increased productivity and the visibility into the completion status is something we haven't had before. We are very happy with our switch to using Jolt for online checklists.
