Zoho Recruit is a web-based recruiting solution for small to mid-sized businesses. The software's comprehensive applicant tracking system (ATS) includes resume parsing, automated job board posting, customized company careers pages, resume storage and interview scheduling. In addition, Zoho's offerings include over twenty-five specialized applications created to help users collaborate with their peers to increase productivity.

Zoho is a purely web-based system, which means implementation is simple, as there is no hardware to buy and maintain. This solution integrates with Google applications, such as Google Calendar, to save time and forego repetitive data entry.

Finally, this software doesn’t require a long-term contract: users can try the software for free, and upgrade to Zoho Recruit’s standard package, which is priced on a month-to-month basis.

The software is good for collaboration, and the automation makes it easy to use. It works for me as a recruiting assistant most times because everything is done at a click of a button. Most intriguing feature will be the level of customization I can get from using this software compared to other similar ones.

Likes Least

The software has a heavy page and so takes a lot of time to load or may not load at all when the internet connection is poor. There should be a way to save cache memory when working so one can have some freedom.

Recommendations

try Zoho first, there is just every chance you will stick to it eventually.

Pros: The ease of use. Zoho is not overly bulky and you can easily add or take out functionality to create slim and basic operational procedures and workflows.
Its very easy to configure yourself and its one of the only systems allowing bulk uploads of candidates at the basic price.

Cons: UI - its VERY basic which is not necessarily a bad thing but it looks like it was developed 10 years ago and hasn't changed.
The Search functional could be improved.

Recommendations

Determine what your actual needs are. There is a million options and most companies don't need a lot of functionality to gain huge process advantages from an ATS.
Zoho is so easy to use and the price difference between enterprise and basic may not give you the added benefit.

I have been using this software as an ATS for a couple of years now. I find it easy and the fact that you can customise is great. Zoho are regularly updating features. The Outlook link is great and allows quick upload of candidates even in PDF.

I would highly recommend this product as it has made my searches much more efficient.

They used to be a really good solution for the amount you pay but the recent platform change has been problematic at best by taking away features that used to make it a really good value and easy to work with. Its still a great price.

They did an "update" to their platform that completely blindsided us as a company. We were used to the old platform and many of the good features within the system they took away. We can no longer send out text messages to the group of candidates even though it still shows as an option the button hasn't worked since the migration around Feb 1. You can't edit templates when you send them to a group of people. The templates you have to work with are sealed and not able to be edited as they were before. This is a pain. The customer service is many times lacking not because of a desire to help but because they are unprepared and many times tough to understand since they are in India.

Recommendations

See if it stacks up to what you were using before and make sure you do a proper trial to see if its better. It will be a step up for people just getting into an ATS but for many some of the functionality will be lacking.

I like that they made an effort. I felt like they tried in the customer service department. I also like you don't have to sign a contract.

Did take too long to get live support. A dedicated chat person would have been nice. The search isn't clean. Can't just search by a name quickly.

I am still TBD, I went Bullhorn, but haven't found it wonderful yet.

The concept of the product is decent. Otherwise, Zoho Care via support@zohorecruit.com is responsive.

Although the concept of the product is good as an ATS, the general flexibility is restricted in some areas. The emails through Zoho servers are also slow to receive, with the fastest auto refresh rate of 3mins, sometimes a client / candidate can send emails at 9am, and I would receive it a few hours later!

Other than that, I have problems with Zoho email.

Recommendations

In terms of the product - it needs more work. It needs more functionalities and power to the users, but without the cost of ease of access and use. Once the product becomes essential and easy to use, I'm sure users will be persuaded to jump in to use Zoho Recruit.

The two best things about this product are that its cheap, and that its on the web, so accessible from any PC or Mac connected to the internet

Should you have any issues with the product, the SLA allows for an email response every 24 hours. Typically this means stepping through a support script one line at a time every 24 hours. After 10 days of this query/response they suggested calling their support line, which goes to voicemail most of the time, given the response timing - it would appear that they support the European time zone.
The standard design template is very inefficient, forcing users to scroll extensively to find the most often used fields, the site is not mobile optimized, they do have an iOS app but 3 weeks after release we still have been unable to search for clients or add interviews for existing candidates. The interface for both the website and the ios app are maze-like and reminiscent of the motorola 50-menu-deep phone interfaces that led to it's marketshare loss to Nokia. Its counterintuitive, full of similar sounding fields that give the user no sense of what the fields are supposed to represent.
It is predominantly a flat-file database so does not pre-screen for company name entries so you can't see if clients or candidates work for the same company if another user has misspelt or given a slightly different company name eg Zoho vs Zoho Ltd vs Zoh etc
The ios app only allows you to add an interview to a candidate (in theory because we have been unable to do this yet), it is not possible to add an interview from the job search or the client for that candidate interview.
Overall I get the impression that this software is a form for filling in excel spreadsheets, designed by engineers that don't use it.

Recommendations

fill it with live data. try to find your data. Remember that if its painful to enter data AND to extract it, it offers no benefit to the user. The key is to have both, at the bare minimum the ability to extract the data you put in.

Our company liked Zoho for several reasons: excellent customer support, low monthly cost, and lots of add on options for other Zoho services.

Likes Least

There isn't a tech support phone number, just email. A phone number would be nice in an emergency. Also, while Zoho has a lot of add on products that integrate with Zoho recruit, it is missing some key pieces like the capability to invoice people.

Recommendations

They have a free trial period or a free minimal use product, so you can easily try before you buy. Be sure to evaluate whether you need automatic job alerts sent to candidates, because the software doesn't do that yet.

I love Zoho's low price. I also like the ability to automate emails that are sent out - with one click you can send a specific frequently sent email text customized to your candidate's situation and jobs. Their job publication interface no our website is also great - very customizable as well. I also like their tech support - they are very responsive and very helpful.

The one thing I don't like is the mass email function - it is a pain to send mass emails out and there is no way to automate the process.

Recommendations

If cost is paramount, Zoho is the winner, hands down. They have a free trial period so you can try before you buy. It is integratabtle with their email system, or you could have emails delivered outside of their Zoho system.
