Booker Software


 

The Booker cloud-based platform was designed for service and class-based businesses who want to continue the lines of engagement with clients. It manages the processes for finding new clients, booking appointments, selling services, managing inventory and client retention.

Point of sale (POS) and e-commerce are integrated within Booker. Aside from credit and debit, it also processes mobile payments, so customers can pay for service anywhere. Booker also tracks vendor and product inventory, providing insights about what products staff is using and customers are buying. Automated scheduling and payroll management sync directly with the appointment book.

The Booker marketing network partners with popular websites and consumer apps, offering a way for customers to automatically book appointments. The Booker customer app is completely customizable. It sends reminders about upcoming appointments, has map integration and promotes engagement through Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites.

Before signing contract we were promised formulas would convert over, notes would convert, and most off a clover integration 4 weeks out. Once we wasted hours converting files, and phone calls learning system we were told the sales man was misinformed. What a joke!!! Our time is so precious, don't waste yours with this company!

This is a tedious software for input of products.
It doesn't work the way it was sold to us three months ago.
We have been told of fixes to the software so it will be what we need -said a week. A week has come and went with no response.

This is not a good product and we are once again down. Booker does not realize the impact on a business when there product is always down. They charge monthly when we are down 20% of the time.

Booker is down again today this is a weekly occurrence. I have 52 employees and can not book appointments, check anyone out and the bookkeeper can't do her work. This software company hangs up on people when the software is down and does not have 24/7 support.
We are in the process of moving to MindBody.

Buyer beware. You can not operate a business without POS software.

Recommendations

Full featured product that integrates with payments.

Nothing ever improves. Software bugs are described as "features." Outages are becoming more frequent. Customer service is non-responsive.

Recommendations

Nothing about this program works. It constantly crashes, and it loses credit card information. The company offers no help.

Constant crashes and outages during peak business hours. Credit card information has been lost on 3 separate occasions with no resolution.

Recommendations

Anything is better than this. Look into something better and save yourself the heartache.

I liked this software in theory, until it came down to the basic functions I needed and then it wasn't adequate for what I was paying. Free software would have been more sufficient.

I joined Booker and was pleasantly surprised to receive prompt phone calls and emails, while I was spending money. When the software was not adequate for what I needed to do and I asked for a refund, I was met with being ignored and was never issued a refund for something I wasn't even able to use. My salesman called me when I cancelled, and then ignored three of my calls as well as an email.

As a business owner and service provider myself, it saddened me that customer satisfaction and treatment was clearly not a priority for Booker Software.

Recommendations

Don't use. Ever. Terrible customer service, ignored phone calls. Only prompt when you are spending money.

There is very little good I can say about Booker. It has given me far too many headaches to offer a single good thing to say.

There have been multiple occasions now where booker says that it can't process a customer transaction multiple times in a row, only to cause an angry phone call the following day from a customer who says that their account has been charged 4 times.

Booker's support line is absolutely NO help, every time I call I get someone who just kind of hums and looks through the system pointing out the same reports and orders that I have already investigated on my end. The customer service has very little knowledge of their own product.

Recommendations

The system is very confusing and detailed in a way that is useless and NOT USER FRIENDLY. The way packages and service series are set up is nonsensical, there are a thousand options for superfluous reports, and takes a million years to navigate or check out customers half the time. It is stubborn when trying to adjust sales in the checkout screen, and instead of simply going to checkout for a customer who has a series balance, it makes you "accept payment" and create an order every single time. I'm a computer whiz who understands how to use everything in the system, but the lack of ease when using this software is EXTREMELY frustrating.

The only thing I liked is that booker is web based.

Not user friendly. Customer service was no help and lacked knowledge of the software and what is was capable of doing. Way too many report options. Too many clicks to do simple tasks, especially in a fast paced salon. Reports weren't printer friendly or user friendly with way too many useless columns that you can't remove. Way to broad of a program for a salon.

Recommendations

Be aware that it can be very complicated at times. I am an quick learner and 6 weeks in I still have to use the "help" option to get what I need...and then sometimes it isn't even in the "help" area. Took extra long to ring out a client...too many steps!!

The website help page is more knowledgeable than the customer service, if you can find relevant articles. The Support team doesn't apparently know it is there though, as on issues I have called in about they have given totally wrong information- only for me to find an article later giving the correct and opposite answer as the support tech.

The point of sale is terrible- equipment fails regularly and the app crashes all the time.

RUN!!! There are plenty of software options and they have to be better than this. After investing hundreds of hours in setting this disastrous thing up and trying time and time again to get it functional I am now facing the possibility that I am going to have to start all over again on a new system. admin, technicians and staff can log in and see their schedule, work load, do payroll or help with an issue from their phone, computer or tablet

the tablet version needs a bit more improvement - not all functions are yet available for tablets. I'm also looking forward to being able to download data the an online Quickbooks version so I have more flexibility as a business owner.

I liked the idea of them creating an app for my business for clients to download. It was cheap looking and not worth the money

The software was confusing, I'm pretty tech savvy and have used online scheduling companies before, and this one is definitely behind in technology and not efficent. They weren't completely truthful with what I was getting, maybe the sales guy didn't actually know....

Recommendations

Make sure you have 30day at least grave period with full money back. This company was terrible with it. Being a hairstylist I have many different types of appointments.

-I looked for options on being able to categorize them to help my clients search for what there looking for easier.
-double booking
-how appointments are booked, is there an app for phone/tablets. And how well they work, one software company I used, wouldn't allow me to double book clients through the cell phone app.
-can I adjust my schedule easily? I sometimes like to work on my days off or I want to take off early one day etc. and need to adjust my times so clients can't book. Booker software did not allow this to happen easily, I had to click through a bunch of tabs to access the option to change it. Not efficent
-I like to have access to email marketing, I would see what their options are

Booker is a POS system which we have used for 6 months in our shop. It is elegantly designed and user-friendly.

We encountered a few times the software just shut down randomly and had to reboot the computer.

Recommendations

It's cloud-based and is easy to navigate. It's also easy to train someone to use.

I would like to have integrated membership forms. The reporting could be a little better. I feel like I have to run multiple reports for payroll when I should be able to have the key elements on one report. Or maybe have the options to select what information I want on any given report. It's not very flexible when trying to set up pay rates, commissions, etc. For example, I can only have one amount for product commissions. Everyone gets the same amount when I would like to be able to customize it to each employee. And then be able to have all of that reflected on a payroll report. Also, I would like more attention on the membership part of the software. That was one of the key reasons we adopted Booker, but I would like to see digital intake and membership forms integrated into the system so clients can sign up on line or in house without having to use paper.
