Phorest is a salon management software solution designed for small and midsize businesses that features appointment bookings, point-of-sale, inventory management and reporting. The software offers cloud-based deployment and a salon-branded app for mobile phones and tablets.

Phorest features online booking which allows salon staff to manage bookings from the salon’s website and through Facebook. Once an appointment is booked, it gets updated in the system automatically to help reduce overbooking.

Phorest features “Client ReConnect” which allows users to send automated emails to customers based on their booking histories. The software also offers a point-of-sale module which helps users to record all their sales and orders in a single place and maintain a cash register. With the help of a stock control module, users receive notifications when inventory levels are low.

This software has given me control of my salon as I don't work in the salon, I know what is going on and able to keep on top of my business.

Pros

Easy to use and navigate around, the various colours kinda personalise the calendar but still makes it very user friendly. I did not margin for the ongoing training offered by Phorest at my convenience , I expected to be able to get hold of someone when I want for any issues that I come across and I have not been disappointed thus far. I was a little dubious about the monthly price of the software package but now I am seeing that its good value for my hard earn cash. I hope this continue but so far I have no reason to think otherwise. I am looking forward to a long and prosperous working relationship with Phorest. Phorest you rock.

The clients scheduling is awesome. It's very easy to use and manage. Client cards is a great option. We like the fact we can see notes on our calendar screen

Cons

The thing we like the least is the way confirmations are Handled with the client. We would like a daily report of the clients who've confirmed for their appt and a list of clients to call and confirm for the day. It also would be nice to have a call report the day after appts so we can call each client and see how their Appt was. At this point, we are only calling clients who haven't submitted a review. We believe if they've submitted a 5 Star review they are very happy and no need to call.

All together in one package, dairy, marketing, sales, stock control etc on line sales & links to Facebook Instagram etc

Cons

Expensive and on going costs could be high depending on SMS usage. Treat cards are expensive & I didn't realise you don't need them as the points can be put on automatically

Pros

I like the ease of making appointments and the financial reports available. I love the text message ability for marketing!

Cons

I am disappointed you don't have the online feature for capturing a credit card for a same day service. It has to be all deposits for all online appointments or none and I don't think that's appropriate.

I have been able to move from a software what was not nearly as user friendly. It's like combing advertising with your pos system.

Pros

The software is very user friendly. Common sense approach, easy to find your way around. I like the layout and the color coding. I love the social media being tied to the software to help boost client interaction. The automatic text reminders are nice.

Cons

A lot of my information did not transfer over from my old Millinneum system. My product line, my client account balances. I would like to have the option to send single text reminders when the occasion calls for it.

Easier to manage my business.

Pros

I have only used this software for a couple of days but it has made my life so much easier already! I am very pleased I chose Phorest Salon Software for my business. Customer service is second to none! Thank you for all your help!

Cons

It has only been a few days since I have joined Phorest and I have not come across anything that I would not like about it.

Eases the pressure on the reception desk.

Pros

I am now part time after having a baby so installing this software will make my life so much easier. I feel that i will be able to manage the salon a lot easier from a distance. It also eases the pressure on the reception desk. Clients able to book 24/7.

Cons

Haven't found anything to dislike yet. We are going live in August but i have every faith in Phorest that the system is going to run smoothly. From the contact i have had so far with Phydos & Colette i am confident in this.

Marketing features and the bonus stuff you come up for free. I like the ability to use my own cc processor with your system.

Cons

Not being able to do last minute appointment reminders by the hours or the option to do multiple reminders.

Only stalled today, but we can already see the appointments alot clearer to see and organise the rooms far quicker. Loving the none- paper form of record cards!
Its super handy for checking our staff columns and appointments online from home! Great for recording stock take and staff hours.

Pros

It reduces the amount of 'no shows' and targets clients who may forget to re-book. We also love how it manages her stock take, all record cards and we have amazing access to it from home and online anywhere! The team at Phorest are super helpful and great to work with. The software is everything a good salon needs!

I can view what's going on in the salon whenever I am in the world. I can use the reports for different things, which are so useful. I can use the software to cash up and print everything off neatly!

Pros

Ease of use, online bookings, the app, the support, the amount of reports I can use, all are so useful! and just everything else that comes with the software ! It's amazing!

Cons

Want to be able to put people on the waiting list on multiple days with one click, at the moment you have to add them each day they would like

Clarity of the daily business conducted in the shops. Staff usage, sales, cash in store. It's all there to view.

Pros

Simple to use and very functional. The reports are great and save a lot of time at month end. I love the fact I can now access all the branches through the app. This is a major step forward for any business owner or manager.

Cons

Cloud based so reliant on internet connection. Internet goes down and we can't process sales. Not good.

Pros

Many systems already in the software make our interactions with our clients easy and efficient. Great booking software with plenty of report analysis to check our growth and progress. They listen to consumer suggestions and are constantly improving the software and adding new features.

Cons

Some of the clickable icons are not obvious or intuitive. Some text that can be clicked on for additional options doesn't always look like a clickable button.

The support team are brilliant and always happy to support and help where they can. Customer service excellent too. I like that its iCloud based . I like the reports too when they work!!

Cons

We can not book colour online because we can't book across three chairs !! Was promised we would be able to do this in the sales pitch - yet to happen and have resigned myself to accepting that it wont work as I don't think there is a way for it to happen. We are very happy we moved over to Phorest anyway and 4 years on, we like it and have just purchased another license for you new salon ( so it cant be bad!! )
