Itemize is a cloud-based accounting solution specializing in expense management. This product is designed for use on mobile devices. Users take pictures of invoices and receipts with their smartphones or tablets and that data is then stored and can be used to generate expense reports.

Itemize use artificial intelligence to analyzes receipt, extracts data points, scores the document for extraction accuracy and returns details via its API in under thirty seconds. All expense data is stored in the cloud for ten years with bank-level information encryption.

Itemize allows users to request or make a payment by accessing company account via mobile or desktop. They can also track mileage for business trips. This solution automatically calculates mileage rate and reimbursement based on distance.

Itemize offers integration with Xero and Quickbooks Online. It is priced per user per month. Mobile apps are available for both with Android and iOS.

Pros

I have primarily used this app for personal expenses and loved the email feature, saving everything there lets me have everything in one place.

Cons

The character limit on descriptions; Occasional lags of the app, better recognition of receipts.

I love the Itemize App

Overall, made my life much easier and would recommend to anyone who wants to personally use it.

What I like the least is that sometimes the app is lagging, at least on my phone but I understand this can be normal with any app.

The one stop shop!

Overly satisfied.

Pros

This makes doing my tax and reimbursables so easy. I don’t have to keep paper receipts anymore and saves countless hours at tax time. It is a must for anyone.

Cons

Defaulting to USD over AUD. It was a pain to do it on very item.

Helps me get organized.

Pros

I was constantly loosing receipts and expense reports were becoming a nightmare for me. Itemize takes seconds to snap a picture of the receipts and record them onto a excell file.

Cons

The only downside to the software is it sometimes miss reads the receipt and put the wrong label or price.

Simple and easy to use - great for freelance consultants

As a freelance consultant I travel a lot, for multiple clients on multiple projects. Itemize allows me to keep track easily and create custom report quickly in order to bill my clients, accurately and without missing one receipt.

Pros

Very simple and easy to use. Does exactly as expected for a independent freelance consultant. After looking long and hard, this tool is the best for expense management - never loose track and quickly create reports!!

Cons

The app is simple and easy to use. The website version could probably have a little more functionality included. Concern is backups and loss of data.

Tried call "sale, support" never call back. Tried chat (it said someone will contact you soon), never call or contact. our company would have add more than 10 licenses, but now looking for another app that have better support.

Pros

I think this app is just average. it's simple to used.

Cons

Can't add more descriptions on note. (due 100 < character limit). Have to paid extra 1 license for company account (Owner) which is never used. sometimes itemized server down. can't send report. can't add attachments (photo of product or notes) to the receipt (photo).

Great Product

I primarily use it for personal expenses and have appreciated the email feature! I love it that I can send all of my receipts straight to the email to have them put into the system.

Pros

I love how easy it is to use and categorize expenses. I have saved so much time not having to manually enter everything into a spreadsheet.

Cons

The pictures don't always upload clearly - sometimes they come in quite fuzzy and hard to read. I also think the Pdf feature and generating reports could be made more user friendly.

Ease of use and simple to navigate. Not time consuming in order to get my receipts organized and imputed into the system especially if it is a long receipt that you do not think the system will be able to accurately read and upload

Great for a small business owner to track receipts for taxes. Super pleased with layout of app.

Pros

Ease of use. It also sends you reminders. Makes tracking receipts easy. It is that simple reminder each day that makes me track my receipts and mileage which makes doing my taxes super easy.

Cons

Sometimes the app does not work properly. It can blank out when you are trying to enter a receipt into the app. I would like to see improvements in this area.

I am a basic user needing a place to store receipts and create reports for tax purposes.

Pros

The app is easy to use and I can put my receipt in as soon as I make a purchase for quick categorizing, Reports were simple once I figured out what I needed

Cons

Sometimes the app loses connectivity and I have to take a picture of the receipt again, screen for custom reporting is not that simple for a basic user, but I am a programmer so the wizard wasn't that difficult for me, however some people may not find it that easy

Pros

It is all mobile, I take my phone everywhere. I have done this once for my ten dollar gift card and I do not have a Linkden account and do not want one.

I think you should have a crop option for the receipts. I always take my picture of my receipts on my steering wheel.

It is a good APP, but may improve few things

Pros

The software is easy to use and control categorize the expenses. It has a good OCRecognition where most of the receipts is well identified.

Cons

Sometimes it does not save the info you input, then later you find multiple entries; I use it with 3 different currencies and countries, it would be great to keep the last input as default and to have some favorites Countries, Currencies as first options. I contacted the support and they never returned.

Slow to upload pictures

Pros

It helps organize receipts, when the app works correctly. The filters are nice, but could be greatly improved.

Cons

Pics are slow to upload and sometimes the app freezes and pics are deleted and then you have to begin over. The software has a hard time recognizing names and dates and sometimes even dollar amounts, so you spend time making sure things are correct, which is adverse of why I purchased.

The applications was down too much time

Pros

you will always have a clear copy of the receipt. Nice to look up and have all information on hand. Very detail information. Very good for tax purposes.

Cons

Was down too much time. Was having too much technical difficulties. Was not handy anymore. Would be perfect if it works the way its supposed too and available every time.

my experience has been mediocre

Photos of receipts.

Pros

I like the ability to take photos on the fly. I also like the ability to make reports with pictures of the receipts and a total.

Cons

I can't link different emails. It is slow. It is not very intuitive. Labeling things on the fly is not possible.
