### Our Analysis of Stripe's Pricing Plans

We've dug deep into Stripe's pricing landscape to help you navigate the various plans and find the best fit for your business. From the Standard Plan to Custom Pricing, we've broken down the key features, benefits, and potential drawbacks of each option. Stripe offers a range of pricing tiers tailored to businesses of different sizes and needs, and understanding the nuances of each plan is essential for making a smart choice that aligns with...

your goals and budget. \*\*Standard Pricing Plan\*\* Stripe's Standard Pricing Plan offers a pay-as-you-go model designed for businesses of all sizes. There is a simple fee structure of 2.9% + $0.30 per successful charge for domestic cards without additional costs or monthly commitments. \*\*Pros:\*\* - \*\*All-inclusive platform:\*\* Access the full suite of payment processing tools and features for a fixed, pay-as-you-go rate. - \*\*Predictable costs:\*\* With integrated per-transaction pricing, you only pay for what you use. - \*\*Global reach:\*\* Expand your business internationally with the ability to accept payments from customers worldwide. \*\*Cons:\*\* - \*\*Higher rates for international cards:\*\* Transactions involving international cards incur an additional 1.5% fee, which can add up for businesses with a significant global customer base. - \*\*Currency conversion fees:\*\* If currency conversion is required, a 1% fee applies, potentially impacting profit margins for international transactions. - \*\*No discounts for volume:\*\* The Standard Plan does not offer volume-based discounts, which may be less cost-effective for businesses processing a high volume of transactions. \*\*Custom Pricing Plan\*\* For businesses with large payment volumes or unique requirements, Stripe offers a Custom Pricing Plan. This tailored approach provides volume discounts, multi-product discounts, and country-specific rates to optimize costs for high-volume merchants. \*\*Pros:\*\* - \*\*Tailored to your needs:\*\* Custom pricing is designed to align with your business model, ensuring you get the best value for your specific requirements. - \*\*Volume discounts:\*\* As your transaction volume grows, you can benefit from lower rates, making it more cost-effective for larger businesses. - \*\*Multi-product savings:\*\* If you use multiple Stripe products, you may be eligible for additional discounts, further optimizing your costs. \*\*Cons:\*\* - \*\*Requires negotiation:\*\* Custom pricing is not readily available and requires direct negotiation with Stripe. - \*\*Lack of transparency:\*\* As custom rates are not publicly disclosed, it can be difficult to compare pricing with other providers or assess the fairness of the offered rates. - \*\*Higher minimum volume:\*\* Discount pricing for volume may require users to sustain a high volume of transactions. \*\*Additional fees and services\*\* In addition to the core pricing plans, Stripe charges fees for specific services and transaction types. These include fees for ACH Direct Debit, 3D Secure authentication, Instant Payouts, and more. Stripe also offers a range of add-on products, such as Billing, Invoicing, Tax, and Radar, each with its own pricing structure. \*\*Consider the following when looking at add-ons\*\* - \*\*Evaluate your needs:\*\* Review the additional fees and services to determine which ones are relevant to your business and factor them into your cost analysis. - \*\*Bundled savings:\*\* Some add-on products, like Radar for Fraud Teams, offer discounted rates when bundled with other Stripe services, potentially providing savings for businesses that require multiple features. - \*\*Scalable pricing:\*\* Many add-on products, such as Billing and Tax, offer both pay-as-you-go and monthly pricing options, allowing you to choose the model that best aligns with your transaction volume and growth plans. \*\*Conclusion\*\* After analyzing Stripe's pricing structure, it's evident that it offers a range of options designed to cater to businesses of various sizes and transaction volumes. \*\*For small businesses or startups:\*\* The Standard Pricing Plan is likely the most suitable choice, with no setup fees, monthly fees, or hidden costs. The per-transaction pricing model ensures that costs scale with the business's growth, making it an attractive option for those just starting out. \*\*For larger enterprises or high-volume businesses:\*\* Stripe's Custom Pricing Plan unlocks additional possibilities. With volume discounts, multi-product discounts, and country-specific rates, this plan can be tailored to meet the unique needs of larger organizations. The flexibility and potential cost savings make it an appealing choice for businesses processing substantial payment volumes. Ultimately, the decision lies in carefully evaluating your business's current scale, projected growth, and specific requirements. By aligning these factors with Stripe's pricing options, you can select a plan that optimizes your payment processing efficiency and aligns with your financial goals.

Overall Stripe has been great with payment gateway, and I have never felt the need for another payment gateway for my business.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Stripe is very user friendly payment gateway. I have been using it since 2018 and I have never felt the need to get any other payment gateway for receiving online payments. The security system is so enhanced that it automatically detects fraudulent payments and blocks it before the transaction goes through.

#### Cons

The invoicing with Stripe is not very pleasing as it has basic templates which I do not use, because I require some additional lines to add to my invoice.

#### Reasons for choosing Stripe

Stripe has a special program called Atlas. It helped me register my company in the US and also helped me in getting a US bank account. After all this, Stripe also provided me with the payment processor. This facility was not available with any other company.

For a dealership like mine Stripe has been a solid tool for taking deposits and payments without needing a bulky point of sale system. It is reliable most of the time and customers seem comfortable using it since it feels familiar and secure. The fees and occasional payment holds are the main drawback but for the convenience of taking payments remotely and keeping everything organized in one dashboard it has been worth using. I would recommend it to another small dealership owner as long as they go in knowing the fees will eat into bigger transactions a bit more than they might expect.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I run a small used car dealership and started using Stripe mainly to take deposits online for vehicles before customers came in to finalize paperwork. Setup was honestly a lot easier than I expected. I was worried it would take a full day of messing around but I had it connected to my website within an hour. Customers can put down a hold on a car remotely which has genuinely saved a few sales since people can act fast before someone else buys it in person. The dashboard makes it simple to see who paid, how much, and when, without me having to dig through emails or texts trying to remember who sent what. I also like that I can send a payment link straight to a customer’s phone if they are not near a computer, which happens a lot in my business since people are usually calling from the lot or from home.

#### Cons

The fees add up more than I expected once you are dealing with larger transaction amounts like vehicle deposits or full payments. A 3% fee on a $2k deposit is a lot different than a 3% fee on a normal online purchase. Customer support can also be slow when something actually goes wrong and in car sales timing really matters. Waiting on a support ticket while a customer is standing at the counter is stressful. There have also been a couple of times where a payment got flagged for review and took a day or two to clear, which is not ideal when someone is trying to buy a car same day.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 2/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Having our invoicing and accounts receivable in a single dashboard was helpful to a team that spans several time zones and has lots of moving pieces with various clients needing different billing cycles.

#### Cons

Stripe's percentage is quite high on the larger-ticket billing. We paid several hundred dollars with our initial client payments, and there are more cost-efficient ways to bill one-off customers.

#### Reasons for choosing Stripe

We needed a bit more administrative oversight and accounting transparency for records and client management. Stripe delivered that.

#### Reasons for switching to Stripe

Wave generates invoices easily, but doesn't have an automated or secure way to pay them like we needed.

### Stripe works for day-to-day work with Stripe — know the fees and filters

In the months we have been using it day to day I have used Stripe for day-to-day work with Stripe. This is how the tool behaves for us right now, not how a demo looked. On the positive side, contractor payouts that we used to batch on Mondays now go out the same afternoon we approve the hours. The constructive side is equally specific: support replies have been fine when we have written in, just not fast enough for a payment that is stuck at 4:50 p. M. On a payday. For a team our size, that tradeoff is one I can live with, and we are still on it.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

In the months we have been using it day to day I have used Stripe almost every working day for day-to-day work with Stripe. Mobile payments are not a novelty for us; they are how the front desk finishes checkout while the client is still standing there. A typical in-person collection that used to stall at the desk now finishes before the client is out the door. Notifications are noisy on a busy day, but they are reliable — I would rather clear a few extras than miss a failed send.

#### Cons

What I like least is straightforward. Support replies have been fine when we have written in, just not fast enough for a payment that is stuck at 4:50 p. M. On a payday. The business activity view is thinner than a full merchant dashboard — filtering a busy month by client still takes more tapping than it should. None of this is a reason to leave, but it is the part of the week I notice.

Positive! It's a built in payment system that functions perfectly 90% of the time and I like that I can direct where the taxation appears via the client or clinician's end of things.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5

#### Pros

I like its built in data provided through my EHR platform that makes it easy to run credit cards and pulls up invoices with no glitching. There's mobile accessibility via EHR app so people can upload card payments on the go.

#### Cons

Sometimes it has trouble recalling an invoice if the card information is delayed and then there's a roundabout way to solve the issue but it just takes some extra clicking.

Overall, my experience with Stripe has been positive. It is a reliable and user-friendly payment processing platform that is easy to set up and integrates well with many applications. Payment processing is smooth, reporting tools are helpful, and the platform is secure. While customer support and account reviews could be improved, Stripe has been a dependable solution for managing online payments.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5

#### Pros

What I liked most about Stripe was how easy it was to set up and use. The platform has a clean, intuitive interface, reliable payment processing, and integrates well with websites and other business tools. It also provides detailed reporting, strong security features, and a smooth checkout experience for customers.

#### Cons

One downside of Stripe is that customer support can be slow or difficult to reach for complex issues. Some account reviews or payment holds may take time to resolve, and the platform's pricing can become expensive for businesses with high transaction volumes or those needing advanced features.
