The Docstar software makes it easy to get my hands on any historical document related to any of our customers very quickly.

I love the integration with Epicor and the workflow approvals.

Very happy overall and would purchase it again if needed.

They keep charges in Y that would have already been paid as part of X.  Double-dipping. Their accounting team is inflexible and will refuse to work with you to resolve the problem.

Cost of ownership - affordable, feature rich system.

Pretty easy to use and upload copies of checks and to file when done. Everything is user friendly.

There are some functionality gaps but they would apply to only the largest of companies. I've got no real complaints with the product; most of what I encountered are experiential things.

Sometimes it's more complicated than it needs to be to build a workflow. The need to download some files in order to view them is bothersome.

Web based GUI is easy to navigate and clean. Install is not difficult.

Seems slow; lot of steps to file a document; user starts to file the document and the information disappears - have to start the filing process again.

The thing that has made DocStar helpful at all has been the fact that our accounting team created detailed tutorials for staff use.

Trying to find documents for audits was a tedious, costly process and storing documents in file cabinets exposes our organization to theft and loss.

It has the ability to be highly customized and accommodate complex workflows. Does great at retaining images of documents and the search functions are usable and logical.

We also use it for our A/P and locating assets within the township. Docstar integrates with our GIS systems and makes it very easy to locate documents, permits and any assets with a click of a button.

The integration is Static. Once you run the workflow, the links are no longer live.

The program crashes often and seems to randomly lose documents all the time, and its user interface isn't the friendliest.

I found it very user friendly and easy to set up. I looked at several different programs at the time and very glad I choose DocStar.

Once you understand where everything is, navigation throughout the system is pretty straightforward. Form templates can have as much, or as little data fields as needed.

DocStar is good for those who don't work with expense reports often as it is very baseline as far as advancements go.

Batch importing thru email, hot folder, xml or csv comes free. Full MS Office integration and virtual print driver come free.

We hope to take advantage of integration with Epicor and finding documents within the sales order.

The feature that I like the most about the softwareis its ability to help us organize our documents.

Lack or ready report, lack of ready workflow, lack of full Kinetic feature in ECM that works, bugs all around related to Kinetic.

I can only view previously filed documents. All of this is making it very difficult to do my job.

Lack of documentation on how to use the software or how to customize it. Difficultly customizing the software so that users can use it.

Customer service is worthless, upgrading from the previous version to this one took twice as long as quoted, everything about this program is cumbersome and harder than it should be.

Past and present employee information is always at your fingertips. Fingertips that no longer have to deal with constant paper cuts.

Haven't found anything we don't like about this software.

Storing content digitally will give us a fast return on investment in labor and storage. Finding new uses for the solution all the time.

I have almost 20 years experience with competing content management platforms so I'm not new to it. I know what I want them to do and how I want them to do it.

We met with the top 4 or 5 vendors in addition to docSTAR and docSTAR met every one of our requirements.

System is very user friendly and able to retrieve a document in seconds rather than deal with paper files.

Very satisfied with the system and would highly recommend.

Most importantly, DocStar's customer service has been TOP NOTCH...although to be fair, we hardly ever have to call them since the solution is so stable.
