Salesforce could be the market leader but they have to constantly thrive to win new businesses and treat them all as same to be there for a prolonged period of time.

Pros

The consultants were quick to establish the business objective and provided alternates to tackle the business and process bottlenecks

Cons

They were not showing up an inclination to close the deal and win the business, the overall lead time was way too long than the competitors in the market

Value for Money

Just made the transition from Dynamics, and the Salesforce CRM allows for a simpler lead handoff and record of information.

Pros

Just transitioned from Microsoft Dynamics. SF is so much better at having appropriate tagging of sales reps, forecasting for weeks and months, continuity of business, and accumulating business intelligence to improve the business.

Cons

It can get very messy. not sensible to characters, resulting in duplication of accounts due to character variation

Pros

Salesforce.com is pretty easy to use. I'm self taught but have found that it is even fairly easy to customize without having to know their Visual Force code. They have a large App Exchange for companies who integrate into their product.

Cons

Their support isn't very good. I try to find my own answers before ever calling into support or submitting a ticket.

We can see how much this will help our business!

Pros

We have a Roofing company and it really suits our business model and increases our productivity. We have all the info we need in sales to manage our clients, and there are so many other aspects to the software we can roll out over time. The Trail head training is great.

Cons

There is so much functionality, some more basis set up examples would have been helpful, but we were able to find everything we needed

Pros

Easy to use, user friendly and overall a useful tool to have in your buisness. I think most people have used it so training is easy and staff can get started straight away.

Cons

Could do with a quick log call option to help cold calling and lead generation. That is a thing that I think will make your system top.

Value for Money

SalesForce has a long learning curve. A rudimentary knowledge of it can take you a long way, but you will not be making full use of it -- especially as a nonprofit, that normally would have limited resources.

Pros

There are many great features about SalesForce, including the AppExchange. It gives us a lot of flexibility with regards to events, volunteer management and donation recordings. The feature of recording contacts is easy and prominent, unlike other systems where it is hidden.

Cons

Although it advertises itself with a feature to compose and create newsletters, the feature is not user-friendly and it is awkward to use. It is easy to create text but tough to format. Several apps in the product are repetitive when creating a contact, especially in the Auctions for SalesForce feature.

When asked how I keep up with everything my typical reply is "I've got the right tools." Salesforce is my go-to Marketing Platform when I open my toolbox. The pricing is very reasonable and it really took my business to the next level.

Value for Money

My organization uses Salesforce Marketing Cloud to help provide quantifiable metrics for our marketing spend.

Overall, we have found it to be a robust platform. The marketing automation it is able to perform is top-notch.

It has helped us to engage integrate our "thinkers" (analysts and data-driven specialists) with our ability to engage our consumers, both B2B and B2C.

If your company can afford it, I would recommend it: it is money well spent.

Pros

Integration of various marketing channels.
Provides qualitative analytics.
Strong boost for social media efficacy.

Cons

Costly
Time-intensive

Advice to Others

I recommend having a paid specialist help set up the interface. We lost valuable time with the software while we internally discovered best practices for ourselves.

Pros

Cons

I think the email cloud in general is not so intuitive in a way that I need to spend more time with putting together the email campaigns than I should. Like one example, I don't understand why I need to click so many times just to upload a photo, or a subscriber list. It is also quite difficult to manage a subscriber list, so easier to just keep uploading a new one...

Creating newsletters in the Marketing Cloud environment is a frustrating prospect unless you are satisfied with a single column format. If you are looking to create double or triple column styles, you'll need to hire a designer with expertise in HTML, and the company's customer service team does not provide guidance at that level unless you are willing to shell out a LOT more money. We eventually gave up and went with a different software and company.

Pros

Some headway has been made to make the interface easily navigable, but much more needs to be done.

Cons

Difficult to navigate. Hard to get to stored repositories for image insertions. Impossible to get images and text to line up properly in side by side columns. Not enough support form customer service teams.

When you send hundreds of thousands of emails, it seems you're destined to be tied into a system like this. It's very powerful, but it's extremely complex. Even for an experienced email developer, it takes awhile to get used to building triggers and actually sending emails.

The tools keep improving somewhat, but they're still very cumbersome. I wish they would spend more time making things easier and lighter weight instead of complex and bloated.

Pros

Very powerful. Good support.

Cons

Extremely expensive and complicated.

Advice to Others

Make sure to buy a plan that includes technical assistance. If you end up paying for it a la carte later, it's much more pricey.

We were working with a vendor to implement Marketing Cloud. That didn't go so well so now we are starting from the ground up. Marketing Cloud is very robust in terms of functionality and offers a lot of features, there is lots to learn but after you get past that hurdle you can see the benefits of using Marketing Cloud. Backend functionality could be improved a bit to be on par with Sales Cloud but I'm sure that's to come in future releases (ie permission updates)

Pros

It's great to automate email schedules and have dynamic templates to really customize the user experience.

Cons

It can be very overwhelming at first learning Marketing Cloud as a whole.

There are vastly more features offered with this CRM when compared to the competition (zohoo, Microsoft CRM). It offers customization for almost all of the features so that you can only work with the tools and settings you need. The preset templates for reports are useful.

Pros

- Preset Templates for easy use
- Powerful Search tool
- Sync calendar and contacts with private e-mail
