My background is development and I love the simplicity of the Matillion, you can very easy  transform your  thought process into blocks in Matillion, and debug any issues at a very granular level.

The knowledge from other products is transferable. The documentation is amazing (one probably cannot understand how good without the experience).

Lack of version control for the ETL code is a problem.

It's necessary to perform out own server maintenance to support the tool, which isn't too difficult, but can be a pain at times.

Sometimes the error messages can be confusing , but this is often down to the messages coming from BigQuery.

There are other options but none have the ease of onboarding that Matillion offers. The API adds a powerful layer to do advanced integrations.

The support team has been very responsive in resolving some Azure-related issues, tuning our instance, and helping to understand the nuances of how it works.

Error Trouble shooting steps difficult needed help of support.

Small issues with German special characters were solved very quickly by the SWING support team.

The only thing we found out is if we try to create a PDF with a large image , the software doesn't accept it and crash.

Customer Service has been excellent. I always get a very quick response, for example, when I request a temporary license key for use on our test server.
