LOVE Skimmer!
I've really liked Skimmer so far, their customer service is awesome and everyone I've spoken with has been so helpful. If they don't know the answer to my question they take the time to find the answer and call me back. It's so comforting knowing I can call and speak directly to a human every time I call, or email.
PROSSkimmer is tailored so well to the pool industry and has helped us manage our cleaning technicians so much more efficiently. I can see a quick snapshot where everyone is at in their day and know exactly what is going on at each pool in a second.
CONSTheir scheduling for repair technicians isn't great yet, but I'm hopeful for their new update on the software coming soon. I would just like to have a calendar to see how many repair jobs are on for the day instead of just a list of jobs, having it that way makes it really hard to schedule efficiently.

Salesforce was just too robust for our small family owned company.
Reasons for switching to Skimmer
SimPRO was awesome but ended up having so many rabbit holes you have to go down to get to certain things and just wasn't user friendly. They're also more expensive than Skimmer so we're saving more, but SimPRO does offer a lot more than Skimmer does right now.

This is a must have for any pool company - especially the mid to large size companies.
I rate SKIMMER 10/10 across the board. Not only is the product amazing, their customer service is next level. I have never reached out to them and been disappointed with the result. Any issues (most self inflicted) has been handled quickly and with a smile on their face. This is what every service based company should aim for.
PROSI really have no complaints about SKIMMER. It has allowed me to minimize the tedious tasks that I was handling. I have moved just about every aspect of my company over to SKIMMER in some form or fashion. From maintenance routes and service calls to everyday scheduling (regardless of what it is for). I couldn't do what I do in a day without SKIMMER
CONSWhat I like least about SKIMMER is I didn't find it sooner. I have been using them for I believe close to 4 years now. Just in the first month of use, I noticed a dramatic decrease in missed tasks, or overlooked issues.

I did extensive research before making the plunge. Skimmer had the look and feel that I was looking for.

Broken software
No benefits, just pain. We are moving away from Skimmer. It is a horrible product.
PROSThe ease of implementation. The app is intuitive.
CONSSeveral. The app is buggy and for the first year of use, whenever we would complain about a software issue, Skimmer personnel would blame us - either our internet connection wasn’t good enough, we were out of date on updates, or the software wasn’t intended to be used with Chrome. They would never accept responsibility. Invoicing within the program has been promised for more than a year. It still is t ready. Now, the ability to transfer invoicing to Quickbooks is broken. It has been broken for more than a week and all we get is “sorry for the inconvenience.”

Without Skimmer My Small Business Would Have NO Foundation
It's not over complicated and it's very "human", the pool industry is a bunch of 10 point words that no one really has an answer too without googling it. With skimmer if you have good training and are certified in your department. It's straight from the book and simple. Building your company with this program has changed my life, and truly made me live out my dream. If Skimmer endorsed us, I'd probably pass out. Haha, thank you guys for all of your hard work. Keeping things simple in the world right now is hard, and you guys have nailed it.
PROSThe RECORDKEEPING is phenomenal, if you use this software correctly you can literally have no loose ends when a customer or any employee disputes something. Skimmer covers all of our "evidence" on all repairs, cleans, before and after pictures with captions for our service guys has been a game changer. Our sales in repairs are through the roof because of it, when the customer sees the repair tech send photos of detailed issues with parts, and is then able to explain why is massive.
CONSHaving to email the work order to complete the job is awful, to be frank we have 100's of work orders completed but the customers don't want an email from a repair when they are already getting pool cleaning emails, and invoices after.
Reason for choosing Skimmer
If you are on the pool and spa service and repair side, this is the best software you can get hands down. The photos must be taken in real time, so cleaners and techs can not take advantage of their company and my heart and soul is in this. Don't ever change the photo feature.
Reasons for switching to Skimmer
It's the most over complicated programing I've ever tried to grasp, I don't even know if the best coder and engineer combined could figure this software out. The [sensitive content hidden] of the programs webinar was the most overwhelming experience and I've been in this industry for 10 years. He talked more about his companies success and the complexity of the program was insane. Whoever the [sensitive content hidden] is, he needs to lay off the Adderall or Coffee

Pay the pool man started doing extra charges within my first month to start off with. And as well of having the most caveman app ive seen hands on, it is the least smooth working app ever unless you watch the 50 videos begining to end. Skimmer has such ease to it that i havent watched one single tutorial video. Just my phone call about the new billing and a friend showing me how he uses his and i was learning all the rest on my own! Super simple!
