  • Pros

  • Fully customizable, good automation and powerful workflows. Great reporting, Good "single pane of glass" software.
  • Flexible and very user friendly. We have utilized this module of the system now for over 2 years and we find it one of the best Asset Tracking systems attached to our helpdesk application.
  • Everyone was all great to work with and very accommodating to our requests. We have an excellent product at a very competitive price.
  • Cons

  • Only recently have they added time sheets, routing rules, and triggers. The reporting is poor as well with little options for custom reports.
  • I asked specifically if we need to back up any configurations before we do that and was told no that it should carry over. After the upgrade, none of the syncing configurations carried over.
  • You're limited to just the options they give you. Since it's web based they can't really customize anything directly for you because it will impact all of their customers.

  • Pros

  • If you meet them at a conference, they are pleasant to work with on your issues and always open to suggestions. It's nice to know that there is a good team behind the product.
  • The end users love this software. If you have a good programmer on your team, this product will do just about whatever you want.
  • Easy to understand the flow and good in getting alerts and notifications. Very good as a ticketing system.
  • Cons

  • We ran into so many operational flaws and deficiencies that we finally had to drop ChangeGear after only one year of use.
  • With flexibility comes risk and some of my pain areas are the support services (pay for support) has degraded since I first signed on and are difficult to arrange.
  • Reporting was horrible, any customization was impossible, the support from the company was horrific, slow to respond, promised everything, never delivered even when we offered to pay for things.
