It is a comprehensive software for all aspects of nursing in our facility, we rely on it for charting under all categories and broadly sharing relevant documents for each resident, for nursing to billing.
CONSSometimes charting close to midnight with the change over in days can act strangely, but support can fix these issues when necessary.

MED eCare Review
The product itself is great. It does the job if used correctly. The people behind the scenes supping the product and the customers are fabulous and don't get the credit they deserve. Other software firms focus on sales. They forget product development and they certainly skimp on support. This doesn't happen with MED eCare.
PROSThe Dashboard is great. It provides a clear snapshot of important management information which can be used to quickly analyse data and correct anything that needs attention. The various reports and ease of access to data is something that saves Management a considerable amount of time when completing audits. The product offering itself is vast and comprehensive. Most importantly, it's the people behind the product. The support is fantastic. From implementation all the way through to live support several years later.
CONSNot so much something with the software but generally speaking, integrations with care planning companies (at least the main players) would be hugely beneficial.
Reason for choosing eMAR
The people I dealt with were most honest during the sales process. This product had some features which others didn't (although they may now have them). The founder/creator of the product was/is a nurse. Some other products were a little too new to market for my liking.

Upgraded But Still Could Improve
Customer support is extremely fast and friendly!
CONSIt is slower to use, and is not user-friendly in learning how to use the software.

MED e-care eMAR is a Reliable Option for LTC
Our overall experience has been positive. It is sometimes hard to get prompt response from support when there is a problem, but this seems to be slowly improving over the last year. Having used another eMAR system in concurrence, we appreciate how much easier this e-MAR is, how smoothly the integration usually works, and there are less steps for pharmacists and assistants involved as compared to other platforms. We have had a positive response after a software update changed the refill functionality to be very confusing and time consuming. After our complaints, a change was made in a timely manner that was much more user friendly. There has been an increase in their responsiveness to requests in the last few years.
PROSWe like the visual layout of the system. It is easy to tell on one screen if all the meds for the current day have been signed off. The integration with Kroll is almost seamless.
CONSThere is no alert to missed meds on previous days. No scanning capabilities. No integration with Momentum although it has been promised for years.
Reason for choosing eMAR
Better functionality, more user friendly, less costly, less pharmacist and nursing time to manage.

EMAR excellence
Overall experience is fantastic using e-Mar. In previous years of working with Paper mars, the e-mar is much more efficient. Smaller chance of errors with missed medications or missed residents. Saves time with not needing to check and double check the paper mar orders at the end of every month to be sure everything is on the new months paper mar.
PROSResident photos - photo disappears once meds administered to resident Shows only those who have meds due at administration times Ability to sort by room or name Ability to mark residents on LOA Ability to write notes Description of medication is provided Efficient use of time as no longer need to check and double check orders every month against next month mars as done in past with paper mars
CONSUnable to change a prn medication once it has been administered. Very occasional staff have hit administered to a prn and then the resident changes their mind. Unable to fix this when it is a prn. With scheduled medication you are able to go back in and adjust. Occasionally staff would mark a resident as away or as in hospital and then they return and meds need to be given. These meds you have the ability to go back in and change the away to administered.
