RUN, powered by ADP, is a web-based payroll solution designed for small businesses. The solution can be deployed on either iPhones, iPads or on any touchscreen device. RUN can integrate with multiple third-party accounting software and human resource management services from ADP.

RUN provides cash flow management by allowing users to track and verify cash requirements before processing the actual payouts. With built-in reporting and analytics capabilities, users can monitor and view complete analysis of their monthly payroll activities. The solution also has a dedicated HR portal to keep all critical information at one place with an online storage for saving employee documents. HR411, the online resource from ADP, provides day-to-day best practices for businesses.

RUN also comes with the support of ADP’s payroll tax compliance team with notifications for tax deadlines, changes and new requirements. The team helps to make filings and tax deposits as per the latest regulations of federal, state and local tax authorities.

Don't Sign Up For ADP Payroll!!!!

Pros

Eddie was very helpful. Got us all signed up and good to go. But ADP doesn't talk to one another so we kept getting requests for our UBI # every week and said they would charge us if we didn't get it to them. Very disorganized company that probably won't post this review.

Cons

ADP does not communicate in-house. They send you paperwork that you don't ask for, bill you for things that you don't ask for, and don't process payroll correctly. I had to hire a bookkeeper to come in and fix it all.

I like that you are able to go back and check the tips of the week because their are times wer are too busy to read thru the entire article.

Pros

I like that you are able to get HR trainings, and check an employees payroll details for previous years. I also like that you have the new hire and termination paperwork right at your fingertips.

Cons

I do not like that you get charge if you have to change something once you submit payroll. I would like to have the ability to fix something I did in error without having to call customer care or/and getting charged.

This is a very uncomplicated, fairly straight-forward payroll system. Web-based and therefore accessible anywhere. Easy to navigate.

Cons

No bells and whistles, somewhat "boring" and rudimentary. I wish there was a chat now function so you didn't have to call customer support with every glitch or issue.

Great price, very simple and works for SMB. Very simple payroll solution. ADP is great but I would highly recommend upgrading into a system with import/export.

Cons

No import/export function. Really limits who you work with and they use it as a retention tool. Wish they had more integrations.

Overall, we find ADP RUN to be useful and a pretty good value for the money. It saves us time and works as expected 99% of the time with no downtime. ADP has really good customer service and we've enjoyed the integration with the retirement services. RUN is robust and offers a lot of different, useful features.

Pros

We've been using ADP RUN for a few years now and have enjoyed our experience with the system. It makes payroll a breeze and provides our staff members with an easy-to-use timecard and information portal, which allows them to see their pay stubs, W-2s, and retirement balances. Errors within the system are rare, and the ADP customer service team is extremely responsive if any issues do arise. W-2 forms are generated automatically for us to mail out and ADP also helpfully files tax and employment reports, which saves a ton of time. An added bonus is the fact that RUN integrates with ADP's retirement services division, so employees can make changes to their deferral percentages and investment options directly through the Employee Access hub. We've also found the HR411 feature to be useful for basic HR queries, particularly when certain forms are needed. It's a good resource.

Cons

Every so often, the Employee Access hub seems to glitch and prevents some employees from reaching their accounts. I've found that this can sometimes be rectified with a cache clear or even opening the Access portal in a different browser, but overall this is a relatively minor issue and it can be quickly cleared up in most cases. ADP also has a bit of a habit of having random salespeople reach out from time to time to attempt upsells rather than a dedicated account manager (we do have a dedicated manager, but the upsells are usually pitched by others).

Cons

Wish the site wouldn't go "down" as much. If this happens be prepared to wait 1.5 hours to speak to someone. Luckily they have a service where you leave your number and they'll call you back. But if your looking to talk to someone immediately, good luck.

The only positive thing I have to say is the customer service is very quick to respond to you and help you over the phone.

Cons

This product is expensive and they charge an extra per check if you need to correct something on payroll. Once submitted there is no way to undo payroll to fix any errors or add in hours.

I am still a fairly new user of run ADP and I know there are features available that have not been enabled. It would be nice if there were a detailed list of features with the descriptions of uses, for everything available with each level of package being used.

Pros

I manage the accounting and payroll for a small business. While I have the ability to process payroll manually, ADP saves a tremendous amount of time that needs to be focused elsewhere. ADP also supports the business whenever any legal issues come up when reporting and/or paying taxes. I was sent an alert that the company's rates were being raised in the state of IL, weeks before it was scheduled to occur. The alert enabled me to dispute the raise in rates and keep the company's tax rates at the lower percentage. It would have been much more difficult and time consuming, had I not had the support of ADP.

Cons

The customer support is lacking. I recently upgraded to include the HR Support add-on because I was supposed to have my 6 free months for joining ADP, was due to start. I ended up not receiving my free months and am still working with the sales rep to have this corrected. Although this is frustrating, the sales rep from ADP did make the time to go over the functions available with the HR add-on, so I can fully utilize all it has to offer.

I used ADP RUN for about 5 years, but we eventually grew out of it and needed to transition to the Workforce Now platform. I had a lot of bad things to say about RUN previously (report capability, customer service, etc), but compared to WFN I know realize RUN was great! It's very user friendly, you don't even have to be a payroll expert to easily use it.

Cons

I'm not a fan of ADP as a company in general. Their customer service is hit or miss, it just depends on who you get on the phone. Some are very knowledgeable, some seem very new or just give contradictory information that you know is incorrect.

I believe RUN is best for small companies, maybe <100 employees. We had a 401(k) functionality come up that RUN couldn't support, but if that hadn't come up we'd still be using RUN happily.

Easy to use and cheap. Great for a basic hris and running various reports. It was a service we needed just for payroll so it did the job but it did not offer anything else. Also the payroll processing function is super easy to navigate.

Cons

They do not provide any training on using the software which I think does them a disservice because people will not use it. I don't know if this is a ploy to get people to upgrade to their more robust platforms but quality customer service should be a given across the board of all their offerings.

If you name it they can make it happen. Once it is setup it is very simple to use. Lots of features and help to keep you informed and compliant. Support is very helpful and available all the time.

Cons

It takes a lot of effort to setup. You have to watch for mistakes by the setup team. You would think that with as many companies as they do payroll for they would have experience with anything you can throw at them, but that is not the case. Poor integration across their multiple service offerings, Time and Attendance does not sync well into payroll and things like PTO are not synchronous across the platforms.

We have used ADP for a long time at my current company and at previous companies I have worked for. Knowing that ADP created this program gives us peace of mind we don't get with smaller programs or companies. We know that if there is an issue, ADP is there to help us fix it and our dedicated account representative is always checking up on us. The ability to check previous years is great and we are able to keep all of our hire/fire paperwork organized in one place which is great.

Cons

The biggest issue we have run into is that you have to make sure you do payroll right the first time. If you submit payroll and have any issues that need to be fixed or you miss your deadline then there are charges for getting your issue resolved. The fee is understandable and has made us a lot more careful about what we do. Just make sure you triple check before submitting if you don't already.

This tool is used for Global Data management (HR & Payroll) by us. Features are very helpful and easy to understand by the end users. Reporting functions is very convenient to customize the report as per user request. This application is compatible with IE browser.

Time out of one log in session page is less.
It is very sensitive with any Java updates.

Pros

What I like most is that ADP customer support treats me like the professional that I am. I have often called with what I thought was a horrible mistake or emergency and they are always able to help me immediately. They are very good at teaching me to help myself as well.

Cons

What I like least is that I have to actually take time to learn to use some of the report features. Once I learn how to use the tool it is a wonderful experience.

Super easy to use. Anyone with 2 fingers could submit payroll through this system. Reports are easy to get and adding employees and direct deposits into the system is easy as well. They also offer access to HR forms and recommendations which is very helpful to small businesses. Paychecks were always delivered on time.

Its such a big company so we didn't have an individual rep to help us when there was an issue. It didn't feel like we had any relationship with anyone there.

I liked the fact that we could get direct deposit to our employees, but I think that was the only pro.

Cons

THis product has a high ease of use and is very straightforward. running payroll only takes a couple minutes. Anytime I've needed to include additional line items, adding these in is quite easy

The cons are less about the software and more about the software support. Although it doesnt happen often, calling in for support is typically a nightmare scenario: long wait times and being connected with someone from across the country

Run by ADP makes payroll super easy! Payroll takes me less than 10 minutes with a staff of 30!

What I like best is how simple and user-friendly it is. The ease of initially setting up an employee can't be beaten. I especially love how fast I get payroll done. Run takes all the guesswork out of payroll. I simply approve what RUN has already done and submit. Payroll is just that easy! Plus I can easily access any payroll, employee or tax document. The best part, if I make a mistake their staff is incredible at finding a solution! They're friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend using Run in conjunction with ADP's ezlabor. You';re employees clock in and get paid under the same system which saves even more time!

Cons

The only flaw I can is that if an employee puts in their 2 week notice, for example, you cannot add it to run in advance. You have to wait until the employee is no longer clocking in/out to update their information. It would have saved a step to be able to put it in immediately when they give notice.

This payroll system is very easy to navigate and use for someone who recently just started processing payroll.

Cons

Sometimes it's hard to get through customer service. Be prepared to be on wait for at least half an hour to get a representative to help you on the phone.

ADP RUN keeps businesses organized and employees paid correctly and on time. It is a bit expensive, but is worth the cost considering how hard it is to track employee take-home pay and tax amounts. Great customer support team that understands the product. Very useful software and the industry leader for processing payroll.

Pros

Knowing which taxes to take out and payroll amounts for employees is made simple with ADP Run. The payroll calculator is a nifty feature that allows you to enter your net pay and gross up the wages, breaking down taxes owed on each pay period. The customer support team is very helpful and you receive automated email alerts that make running payroll simpler.

Cons

The customer support team is great, but sometimes, you have to wait up to 30 minutes in order to reach someone by phone. It is also a challenge to reach the same customer support representative since they do not have dedicated/ direct phone numbers, so most communications must be done through email. They auto-debit your account via ACH, and that is the only method to pay taxes. Also, they are kind of expensive since you pay for each pay period 'run'.

Cons

Did not use the software long enough to come up with any shortcomings. Lengthy installation process for a small company, otherwise everything was a smooth transaction
