Justworks PEO is a human resources solution for small and mid-sized companies in industries including accounting, advertising, non-profit, banking, consulting, telecommunications and more.

Core features offered within Justworks PEO include personnel tracking (core HR), payroll, benefits administration, and on-boarding. Through partnering directly with aetna and MetLife, Justworks offers benefits package options for users, and employees can make their benefits selections online without the need for any paperwork. Additional features of the software include vendor payments, tax document filing, Zero and Quickbooks integrations, time-off management, and an employee dashboard. The employee dashboard feature offers employees the capability to request time off, enroll in benefits packages, review payments and pay stubs, and access the company calendar. As a PEO, Justworks manages all compliance and tax filing procedures.

Justworks PEO is offered to companies throughout the United States as a web-based solution, and is both Mac and iPad compatible

    I love the software. It does save us a lot of time and money that we don't have on spending on a HR person.

    Pros

    We are small team and its great to be able to manage all the payroll services in one app

    Cons

    I think the user interface can be a little be simpler. Sometimes I find it hard to find certain items. Maybe have a menu on top of the page.

    1. It super easy to use and find anything you may need (benefits, pay stubs, salary, team, etc)
    2. They have a super helpful and easy-to-reach support team.
    3. The work benefits you can opt into, such as citibike programs or gym membership discounts.

    Cons

    If I had to think of something, it would most likely be one of the settings we chose internally that was not easy to change immediately as it was related to a benefit that if changed would not take effect for months.

    It makes it easy for employees to see their paychecks, benefits and manage enrollment during the year. One less thing to worry about.

    Cons

    The additional service they offer are not actually very good. We tried using some of the random 'extra' services and they were a time sink. We spent over 3m and 6h of our time talking to people who were unable to resolve the billing issues they said they could help with. No idea if they even ever tried.

    I use JustWorks everyday to keep track of all my HR needs. From payroll to 401K and tracking PTO.

    I love the ease of JustWorks platform. We used another PEO before switching to JustWorks and all reporting and features were third party integrations that never worked. JustWorks is a one stop shop and has updated access to anything and everything you may need. Their on-boarding process is detailed and customer focused and they even answered questions from my team about insurance concerns. They walked me through the transition step by step and were available immediately to answer any questions I had. I could go on for days about how much easier JustWorks has made my job!

    Cons

    Because JustWorks is so new, there are a few reports that they haven't implemented yet. We have a PTO accrual system that rolls over every year but maxes out at 96 hours (this changes based on goals) and JustWorks has no way to track this. Once a day is used, it can be recouped by working another month, encouraging employees to take time off. It's been difficult for me to try and track this and when asked about it, JustWorks said it's not something they have developed yet.

    Signing new hire documents, and setting up my payroll was super easy! I was almost concerned with how seamless the process was.

    Don't, under any circumstances, ever do business with this company!

    Cons

    Terrible customer service
    We must pay everything way in advance (health insurance is due by the 10th of the prior month)
    Payroll must be paid on Monday for a Friday payday.
    Payroll must be paid a week in advance if the Monday is a holiday
    I've written several times to the CEO - no response
    Terrible start-up process - key (and required) documents not provided until after the start-up date
    Misinformation is their normal way of doing business - not trustworthy

    I like being able to check my paychecks, benefits, and contact my coworkers quickly and without having to sort through a complicated menu.

    Cons

    I wish you could customize the dashboard. Small gripe, but it would be cool to be able to move your calendar, directory, add widgets, etc.

    Everything is bundled together and easy to find. The site has very clean navigation and set up so you can find the things you need the most, paystubs and healthcare information quickly. Also, they make the setup so fluid so it's not like "Oh god, gotta sign up for another software..." like my last job.

    Cons

    No more bi-weekly paychecks! I've never been on a "1st & 15th" kind of schedule before so that definitely takes some getting used to.

    I really appreciate the effort they made to design a platform that is super easy to use. For non specialists, it's a great platform to manage your HR admin and payroll. Their onboarding and customer support is very dedicated and responsive. It helps a lot, especially when you plan to move from one HR platform to another. I highly recommend.

    We're growing rapidly and had just hired a COO for operational issues, but discovered she is also extremely good with customers too. So we needed to automate even more processes, and quickly. Justworks was a perfect choice, both for helping us decide which direction in health benefits would support our continued growth, and with the streamlining the benefits tax paper trail we needed too.

    Pros

    Extremely easy to use and to understand what the best choices for our particular employee structure were.

    Empowered us to feel confident in the choices we made, as our employees are a key asset for us.

    Cons

    We haven't found any yet and feel pretty confident that, even as the new presidential administration "changes the HC rules", that we have made the best possible choices.

    I've used Justworks for a little over a year now and I adore it. They are always super helpful over the phone and email. I send them as many referrals as I can! I love that I can manage tons of contractors and schedule payments very easily. Their profiles make it easy for my employees to manage their settings and keep up to date with payments.

    Pros

    Very beautiful, easy to use, serves the purpose very clearly. I love that it was very quick to learn and keeps getting better. If I ever have questions about insurance my account rep is amazingly quick to respond and always helpful.

    We found Justworks on a hilarious subway ad (ooh man are those advertisements great!) while on the way to a meeting to establish a contact with a paycheck company. We wouldn't stop thinking about them in that meeting! Since we began our partnership with Justworks everything is a little easier. Even when things don't go as quickly or as well as we expect, it is still always faster and more reliable than us doing it on our own! We are able to feel free and like someone (many someones's!) have our back all day and night long. As Justworks has grown and as we have grown as a company, we feel more supported and like they are more available all the time. It has truly been one of the most educational experiences of our business careers to have the wealth of information and giant well of support that is Justworks. Super bonus: anytime something does not work well for us, they offer an upgraded version to us (in other words, Justworks is always listening and looking for new ways to serve their customers so that the world is better served). THANK YOU!

    In the past, I've worked with other high-level systems. I find that justworks is geared more towards smaller companies and startups. Though the software is not as developed, I find that the customer service makes up for that. The justworks team is great and I feel that they are taking good strides to improve their system.

    I can't create employee schedules for hourly employees nor track attendance.

    Love Justworks. As an admin and an employee it's super simple and intuitive - makes my job 1000x easier. Our account rep is incredible too - My rep is quick to respond and super knowledgeable.

    Clean, intuitive, uncluttered

    Access levels can be inflexible between vendors/contractors and - if someone can add a new vendor they also have access to all employee information...

    Easy to set up & what makes the difference is incredible customer service! Looking forward to an easy year end close and issuing 1099s. Wish we could issue one time payments for vendors without setting them up as a vendor.
