Let's just say, I am happy to be moving away from Namely at the end of the year.
Having on representative sounds nice but then it is just easier for them to say "I am not sure, let me check" then it puts your issue on hold for a week.

Cons

-Taxes always have an issue with getting correct information to states
-Payroll and HR systems dont work well together
-Onboarding documents dont save signed
-deduction codes like LTD dont feed over with new hires

I would definitely recommend giving Namely a chance.

Pros

Easy to use, amazing payroll system, great reporting features. Particularly like the homepage- has a social media type feel which works for our company communication strategy.

Cons

Namely gets quite buggy from time to time so we are constantly having to let our account rep know about these issues.

Pros

easy to use, complete, track reviews. Customizable enough to use for yearly reviews. Kinda cute that you can send "praise" and messages to your co-workers.

Cons

Pretty simplistic, in my opinion. It's bare bones, and while intuitive, only digitizes what could easily be accomplished with a paper form. I see the value in that, but that can be easily recreated. Maybe there's other modules we don't buy that are more advanced.

Don't let your fear of change deter you from moving to a truly innovative and integrated solution.

Pros

Long list here. Everything in one place. Simple to access. Easy to use. Mobile. Integrated with several other key partners. FABULOUS customer service. Conversion is handled professionally, competently and quickly. Managers are delighted to be able to master the "dark arts" of goals, performance reviews, time off, resources and more. From the CEO out to every person at Namely, there's a vibe of energy, commitment and smarts. How refreshing.

Cons

Short list here. Like any innovative, new solution, there are features we users crave. The Namely product development team are fast and responsive. The product roadmap is shared with us. Oh, this was the cons list. Sorry. Done.

Pros

Appears to be highly configurable and from what I've seen can integrate quite a few systems (ATS, LMS, Performance Management, surveys, etc). The interface is so easy to use as well and esthetically pleasing!

Cons

Unless you're planning to integrate their payroll solution, they don't integrate outside of their HRMS with automation.

Pros

All in one Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, Time Tracking, Performance Management, Intranet. It keeps all of your data in one and the Reporting functionality is better than Zenefits.

Cons

Not user intuitive, not a sexy UI and you have to navigate through many clicks to get through to something that should be more simplified. The implementation was pretty smooth, but you really rely on your account manager on navigating and customizing.

Pros

Stellar HR module

Great Customer Support
I like the social feed aspect

Cons

Payroll module is rudimentary
For a Software to claim syncing between HR and Payroll, very little syncs. We have to update data in several places. I wish the data flowed. Onboarding is more manual than our last HR software.

The support team and onboarding tools are both fantastic. They've recently added a "goals" feature that we are just starting to use, so that is exciting. Overall, it's a great value for the price.

Pros

Great UI, compared to other HRIS products of similar cost. The internal support team is very responsive and helpful. There is a wide range of tools to choose from: onboarding, PTO, performance reviews, benefit portals, payroll, etc. I've found the onboarding feature very helpful, as new hires can start their HRIS profile, as well as read and agree to all new hire paperwork.

Cons

The API leaves some room for improvement, but I believe they are working to improve it. Also, the benefits portal works well, but the "electronic feed" to the insurance company hasn't worked for us. Well, it works, it just doesn't link accurate information. I believe they are working on that as well. The performance review reminders are not found in an intuitive manner, but the program itself is pretty easy to use once you know where to find things.

namely is simple and easy to use. It's extremely beneficial to have all of your HR documents and information in one place (online). As an employee, you can quickly view how many days of PTO you have accrued, then see which holidays you have off, and then view your past paychecks. Extremely user friendly and efficient software. Wonderfully designed as well.

Pros

Ease of use, having the information all in one screen (with multiple tabs), streamlines HR process, great design.

Cons

Inputting hours is a manual process if you are hourly - a bit time consuming. Seems like this process could be automated somehow.

Customer Support

Overall, Namely is a great HRIS! It's nice to have your employee data, payroll, benefits and potentially your employee files all in one place. The ease of use is great, the UI is wonderful, and our account manager has been great to work with.
However, the only downside we've had this far are implementation issues. The timecard system in Namely is a bit cumbersome (but they are working on a new release) and we did have communication issues during implementation (i.e things not getting done that we were told were being worked on.)

Pros

Ease of use, user experience.

Cons

Doesn't appear to be a lot of integration with HRIS and payroll - but it sounds like it's coming.

Benefit implementation was extremely rocky. We had to begin our open enrollment 1 month later than expected. The benefit team (Brokers) were great! They were in constant communication with us, and assured us that everything would be taken care of.

Well, we ended up losing our projected benefit plan. We then had another plan that was not well off like the one we wanted, but we needed something to give to our employees. This is where the Namely benefits team dropped the ball.

Communication slowly dimished and our benefits in Namely never changed from the original to the present. To make matters worse, one of our Brokers from Namely was arrogant, unqualified, and attitude-prone. She made our relationship with Namely a terrible experience. We no longer wanted to rely on the benefits team for the mere fact that we didn't want to deal with her. Here's the best part about Namely's benefit team (sarcasm) - the unpleasant Broker had a subordinate who went into our dental carrier's website and took away one of our employees benefits! Yes, that's right! She deleted the dental benefits without speaking to us beforehand. That is extremely unprofessional. That employee ended up going to his dental provider and was denied for not having dental insurance.

Cons

Had to constantly look at the user guides.
The user guides were not detailed enough. Ex. roles and permissions - too complicated.

Advice to Others

Look elsewhere. They look good and are on the cutting edge of technology, but lack the fundamentals to be a great system.

We only used Namely for HRIS, not payroll or benefits, so perhaps my experience would have been different if everything was all tied together. In the end though, because they didn't give you a dedicated HR business partner, and the insurance rates weren't great, we switched to ADP Total Source (a PEO). My experience with Namely was ok.

Pros

The interface looks nice. The fields are customizable, although often you must get your service person to create them for your.

Cons

The customizable fields often require someone on the inside to implement for you.

Advice to Others

I would read more about those who experienced Namely with their benefits and payroll included. Ideally, the system would integrate all things together and make it super easy for employees to login, make the necessary elections or changes etc.

Value for Money

A couple of years ago I sat in my office after getting off the phone with our previous HR software support team. I was angry at the 72 hour turn around time and then it hit me. I don't have to put up with this. I began my journey to find a replacement HR/Payroll platform. I didn't want to be held back by so-called "turn around time" ever again. Demo after demo I battled through all the fluff of the so called superb platforms on the market, then I threw on the brakes. I stumbled on this company called Namely that looked familiar to social media that I frequent. It looked so simple, could this be the one? I signed up for the demo prepared to be disappointed by a flashy sight with no power behind it and awful customer service, but then it happened. I found the ONE. So simple, yet very powerful and the customer service was off the chart (from another planet). We took a leap and implemented Namely's HR and Payroll platform. I dreaded to hear employee feedback and was terrified to reach out to customer support. Employee feedback started to roll in, what? they actually love it and it's easy to use. I never dreamed I would receive so much positive feedback from employees, but I did and still do. Then came the day I had to contact customer support. I was blown away by the quick and courteous support I received. I was in awe. This is exactly what I was looking for. I couldn't believe it. An HR platform that employees love, HR and Payroll managers love to use, and quick and courteous support. Namely will allow us to grow To Infinity and Beyond! We love Namely!

Pros

Employees and Managers love the look, feel and ease of use. The platform is very customize able and the reporting is very powerful. From on-boarding to termination, Namely has what it takes to get the job done. Their open API is a huge plus allowing integration with almost any vendor.

Cons

The calendar could be more powerful and the file storage could use a makeover, but you can't lose with this platform. They are continuously listening to users and making improvements.

Advice to Others

If you are not happy with your current HR/Payroll platform you definitely need to give Namely a look.

Pros

Namely is fairly intuitive. Most employees have not needed much in the way of training or tutorials and they like the eases of use and the user interface. It can be customized fairly well and the team and account reps are always available to help. I also love how it integrates so many HR functions under one roof and all are done well.

Cons

One minor drawbacks on time off reports is you cannot run a report to see vacation balances as of a certain day in the past (or future) - it is only current. Also, navigating is a bit clunkier than I'd like - there are no dynamic searches and you cannot jump from a Teams page for one employee to a Teams page for another employee with one click.

Pros

I work almost exclusively on the payroll sides of Namely, and I've found it to be user friendly and super intuitive. The easily accessible training videos are fantastic and great when you find yourself asking, "How do I do that again?" My favorite part is the easy navigation!

Cons

I can't say that I actively dislike anything. I think because I'm still learning the software there are going to sections that I don't know how to work as efficiently. IE: I'm hoping there's a way to link our 401k directly in, so that when users make individual changes through the fidelity portal it automatically update (like other benefits sections do). Not sure if that's possible?

We are trying to minimize paper clutter and store information digitally which is one of the reasons why we chose Namely. On-boarding process is much more automated as you can upload all required documents into a template and have new employees complete them using e-signature. Performance Management feature makes it very easy to keep track of everyone¿s progress and manage from the administrative side. Benefits Open Enrollment is now automated and employees will be accountable for making changes or selecting new coverage.

Pros

ser friendly. Easy to navigate through the website and very easy to run custom reports in the HRIS side. We are also utilizing their on-boarding, performance management and benefits enrollment features to save the company time as well as to reduce paperwork.

Cons

Biggest concern is that the Payroll module is as robust as Namely claims it to be. The report writer is limited and there are manual double entries that you need to do to if you are tracking PTO as well as other information using their HRIS module. We ended up purchasing their Namely Time module because the web-clock and PTO Tracking in their HRIS module is very limited; the web-clock is unable to round worked hours as we track employee hours worked in 15 minute increments and PTO Tracking was not accruing the correct amount of sick and vacation balance for the employees which caused us to manually track PTO for 6 months on a spreadsheet. Even with the Namely Time module, it does not fully integrate with Namely Payroll, therefore, all accrued vacation and sick balances does not feed over and we are not able to show the accrued balances on employees¿ pay-stubs which is required by law in California. We have NOT been in compliance for over 10 MONTHS .

Customizable, easy to use, one stop shop for all employee related things! It's a great tool that helps us keep employees informed and engaged

Cons

There are still some product enhancements that need to be made to enhace the overall admin experience and also a few things they can add to help poll engagement.

Pros

System is easy to use and employees have said how they have found it user friendly. The integrated aspect with payroll also makes processing very simple. The reporting functionality is fantastic!

Cons

Although they have partners companies can utilize for applicant tracking, it is not fully integrated into the HRIS.

Pros

The central news feed is a great, social tool, especially useful for keeping everyone up-to-date. Some of the functions are fantastic - the onboarding, the performance tool, the time off function, and its very easy to customise some of the profile fields to your own requirements. Also, it will be great when the new reporting tool is rolled out, and you can do point in time reporting.

Cons

There are limitations in terms of some of the functions for non-US employees. For example, we can't track UK or Canadian expenses through Namely. Also, some of the recent changes have meant we have had to change our internal processes to fit, rather than having the flexibility to do it the other way round.

PTO requests are easy and I love appreciating my fellow co-workers!

Pros

The ability to customize the system and tailor it to our unique culture. The newsfeed and birthday/work anniversary reminders are amazing!

Cons

How an employee PTO balance is reported in Namely. Currently, the PTO plan is set up so that each employee's PTO renews on their anniversary date. It's confusing and it is not the true available PTO balance.

We recently switched to Namely as our primary HR platform and it is leaps and bounds better than ADP, our previous solution. It integrates seamlessly with our SSO platform and provides a nice clean, clear, and concise interface.

Pros

Seamless integration; very easy to use; contains PTO, pay; annual review, and other information all in one place.

Cons

None at this time as we have just started using the product

Advice to Others

Namely is definitely an improvement over ADP and suits well with our other cloud-based platforms.
