This software is made for 2018. It has a Facebook like feel, so it’s incredibly user friendly and familiar. The functionality is great and can be used at an enterprise level.

Cons

It’s quite expensive for a smaller business, but I don’t know if a small business needs all of the features and functionality that their software provides.

An HRIS that Everyone likes to Use

Overall, it's a great HRIS, and a great company. Namely is constantly updating the system and releasing new features. The support team is top notch and is always happy to help in anyway they can. Namely may be missing some features or some may need to be updated, but the interfaces and the support plus the fact that they are dedicated to releasing features that are requested really make it a top HRIS system.

Pros

Easy to use for Employees, Managers, and Admins. The interfaces are elegant, clean, and very intuitive. The ability to automate tasks or delegate tasks that used to be a burden has freed up time for Managers and HR admins. Having everything all in one creates an easy experience for our employees. The ability to use the Open API allowed us to automate our employee data flow out to different parts of the company and keep our systems all in sync.

Cons

Missing some features you might get from an older HRIS, Payroll, or Benefit system. While the time feature allows a lot of customization, it can be burdensome to use and navigate.

Namely has been a huge help with our startup, particularly in streamlining all processes in one place. Having a dedicated Accounts Manager and Benefits Manager provides resources that assist across the spectrum. Accessibility and support are a outstanding.

Cons

As with anything, there are hiccups, such as importation of employee payroll from another product to Namely, but the good news is that the folks at Namely always work hard to get through those challenges, take the issues under advisement, and work toward solutions.

Implementing Namely is the best HR decision our small company has made. We have a small administrative team and I am new to HR. Namely has provided us with a huge opportunity to start out with great employee compliance, structure, and utilization of forward thinking technology.

Pros

It's inclusivity of employee information; it's features save time and help with company compliance. It helps new employees have a platform when working remotely, and helps HR keep up with remote employees. Namely is always adding new features based on client feedback and everyone at Namely is a pleasure to work with.

Cons

The timesheets aren't my favorite, but they get the job done and do offer a few different options. Namely is working on improvements to the things I dislike about them.

They took on our benefits brokerage services in the middle of a renewal season when we were struggling with an unreliable broker we've had for years. They came in and negotiated down rates for us, set up new plans, working with our insurance carriers and got us everything ready in time for open enrollment. Unbelievable effort - Namely hires outstanding talent and their benefits team works wonders!

Pros

Aside from having every tool an HR/Payroll dept needs integrated and working together, the best part about Namely is their customer service. Each client has an individual client partner instead of an 800 number and a case ID. That's made all the difference - instead of going thru prompts and re-describing the problem to a different CSR each time you call in, your partner knows you and your company and always responds quickly. Outstanding customer focus!

Cons

Nothing, they're exactly what we were looking for and more. If I were looking for a new system, I would implement Namely again.

Easy to use platform that is intuitive out of the "box", yet customization to the needs of the business and HR Team. The news feed is a great way to add transparency to your communication efforts throughout the business and is easily recognizable from a social media perspective. The data is captured and maintained effectively and it is one of the easiest payroll experiences I have had.

Cons

They are still working on integrating the HR and Payroll side of the product. They are a doing a great job getting there, but it is something to be aware of.

The clean and easy-to-use interface helps me in onboarding, payroll, etc. and reduces the need to always work through software with employees (plus, there are training resources for basic tasks). The payroll module is straight-forward and easy to use - I spend minimal time running payroll, and if there is an issue, Namely is quick to respond. The customer service I've received has been top notch - we have one point of contact for HR/payroll and they help get answers when needed. We also use their benefits which helps simplify things as well (and great customer service there too!).

Cons

No major complaints - sometimes there are very (very) specific features we're interested in - there's often work-arounds or it is on the list of potential adds. The performance management module is very customizable and is included - but still could use a little work to be on par with stand-alone performance management products (but is still an excellent product!).

For instance they took over sending a file for our 401K transfer amount to Voya. The total was suppose to be around 2000 but they instead transferred 17000 into employees 401K accounts. It was a mess to fix and they didn't even seem remorseful. That is just one of MANY issues.

Pros

Honestly Nothing. The look of it I guess is nice but that's about it. They have you take hours of training when you start and its not helpful at all.

Cons

Everything they've tried to "take over" they've screwed up. Not worth the money in my eyes. I don't trust anything they've done and their customer service is not very good either. For instance my 'rep' got married and went out of town for 3 weeks and didn't even tell me or put me in touch with someone to help with any issues. I've worked with a lot of HRIS systems (I am an HR consultant) and Namely just doesn't make sense. Its extremely confusing.

*Lots of great workflows to utilize to eliminate pen and paper documents.
*Namely did fully refund us our money after our implementation was handled very poorly.

Cons

Phew, my boss and I had problems with our Namely implementation from the beginning. It seems that the company was undergoing a lot of turnover and restructuring during our implementation, and we felt it. There would be weeks when we would hear no communication from our lead implementation specialist. My boss thought he had quit or had been let go and had to write a strongly worded email before we got a response back. Our Namely benefits specialist then made an error with an algorithm she was using to calculate benefits costs during our open enrollment in November. If hadn't caught the error, our company would have lost thousands of dollars. We have had numerous issues with payroll since open enrollment and have cycled through several specialists since. Last week, my boss and I decided we have had enough and are moving to another HRIS system.

Namely HRIS is a fantastic program, layout, very easy to use. The integration process was great and our implementation manager for Namely HRIS was fantastic.

Cons

Namely time is very basic and hard to use. The scheduling feature is very basic and time consuming. In addition, the integration between the Namely systems don't exist at all. Simple information needs to be entered into both systems and the integration capabilities are very basic. Switching to this system was supposed to cut down on every day HR/admin work, however, now she just spends her time making the programs match. Basic integrations like making an employee inactive doesn't even exist, you have to do it first in Namely HRIS then go to Namely Time and do it again. For employee hours to feed back into Namely HRIS, you have to pull a report out of Namely Time and import it back into Namely HRIS. I was promised seamless integration by our sales rep and I feel very mislead. The Namely HRIS application is completely different from the Namely Time application and it's different sign-ons.

I like Namely because it is so simple to navigate. Our old HR software was clunky and badly organized. As an employee, I only ever need to check this sort of thing on occasion, and there are a few specific things I look for when I do, like paystubs. I want those things to be easy to find so I can get in and out as fast as possible. Namely makes that easy.

Cons

There are some features that just don't seem necessary for an HR software, like a social feed, performance reviews, and task management. We have plenty of other softwares that accomplish those functions, but I'm sure other teams could get good use out of them.

I would avoid the service. I have moved on to Gusto and found that the system is easy to use and thus far has not had any glitches.

Pros

In theory their service is end-to-end. what we found was that the modules didn't seamlessly exist so information was being entered twice

Cons

the system isn't true single sign-in. The customer service was abysmal and their sales process wasn't very honest

We recently implemented Namely and it's been a welcome addition! Making benefit elections was a breeze. Managing time off is very simple and easy to track for managers and employees alike. We've also moved our quarterly MBOs from google sheets to Namely.

Cons

The biggest con seems to be general slowness in loading pages. It seems like almost every page I click takes a few seconds to load as opposed to instantaneous loading. I would love to see their lightweight performance management system be improved so I can conduct weekly 1:1 q/a and follow up in namely as opposed to google docs.

Let's just say, I am happy to be moving away from Namely at the end of the year.
Having on representative sounds nice but then it is just easier for them to say "I am not sure, let me check" then it puts your issue on hold for a week.

Cons

-Taxes always have an issue with getting correct information to states
-Payroll and HR systems dont work well together
-Onboarding documents dont save signed
-deduction codes like LTD dont feed over with new hires

Pros

What I like most is that Namely allows users to access their payroll and HR information easily. Users can update their own bank accounts if they have direct deposit.

Cons

What I like least about Namely is there are a lot of limitations. Every time we ask about some features, the answer is usually that it's not available. There can't be more than one person processing payroll at the same time. The payroll and HR systems are not talking to each other even though they're both Namely. It's very disappointing.

Pros

Very simple to use. It is very much a step by step process of how to create a flow in the system. Minimal customizing is available so that makes the program itself really simple to use and create on.

Cons

It can be viewed as too simple. There is very minimal conditional logic that can be used. You're going to want to carefully create and assign Roles to make the system work as desired.

It makes it very easy to find my paystubs and benefit information. It also has a nice newsfeed where people can post company updates. Also, if I can't remember someone's name, I can go find their picture on Namely and it has information like their name, the department they work in, and how long they've been with the company.

Pros

It's really easy and intuitive to use, it has great features, and I use it all the time. It's much, much less cumbersome than most of the cloud-based software of a similar nature that I've used at other companies. I really have hardly any complaints about Namely; I just wish the other software I used at work was this nice.

Cons

I don't like that I have to go to organization.namely.com instead of going to Namely and just logging in. I'm not sure why this bothers me but I find it frustrating that I often forget and go to namely.com, and then land on a page that's trying to sell the platform to HR professionals.

Some elements feel like a blatant ripoff of Facebook, but hey, it makes it easy to use.

I helped a friend of mine get his business off the ground and when it came to tackling payroll, Namely stuck out. We gave it a go and haven't looked back. They've got him covered, from benefits administration to performance management - it's all under one hood.

Cons

We love it. The best part about Namely is, you don't have to be an expert to use it. That goes for payroll, HR functions and even employee usage. The user experience is unrivaled.

Even though I decided not to use the software long term, for those who are quick typers or those who have dedicated people to handle their HR it would be an idea solution for staff management.

Pros

It makes it very easy to enter data and to keep track of everyone. I did not upload staff pictures. It is VERY helpful to have a graphing feature that allows me to visualize data over time.

Cons

It took longer to enter the information than I thought. I went back to normal pen and paper because of this. Although this is a great product and a great idea, because I am a slow typer it just took too long to enter data. I also found field customization more difficult than it should be. Mayber I should have had my office manager deal with it!

Namely pulls in all the information I want into a sleek and streamlined dashboard. I can access everything I want easily and quickly. They go above and beyond what I'd expect from an HRIS platform

Cons

I love using this product, there really isn't many bad things I can say. Sometimes it might lag a little but that could be explained by poor connection at times.

Pros

I like how well everything is organized. You can find everything you need pretty easily as an employee.

Cons

Sometimes with all the data you can fill it with, it does get confusing. It's important to organize things properly for employees.
