In theory, we were doing all the right things but we needed Perform Yard to help us manage for compliance and better adoption. The extra benefits of reporting, goal setting, onboarding check lists and document storage are superb as well. #### Cons Nothing yet. so far our experience has been superb. I figured it would be one more broken tool, and you know what? My notifications are pinging me, reminded me about the admin work. #### Cons Too many buttons sometime, and I get lost in the menus. The grading scale is silly. It’s always 1-5 for everyone and this isn’t fair for a new person. How can a Junior get a 5? Despite numerous requests to opt out of our contract, the higher ups informed us that was not happening. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 1/5 - Value for money: 1/5 - Customer support: 3/5 - Functionality: 1/5 #### Pros Our Customer Success Manager and the support team were available in a timely manner and tried to help. #### Cons - Not seamless or efficient when it comes to the navigation and the process of assigning peer feedback and seeing average scores. - Time consuming to have to reach out to hop on a Zoom call or phone call to get assistance with ongoing issues. - PerformYard did not provide the seamless process we were guaranteed upon signing up. - They do not allow you to opt out of your contract. We had a stipulation in place that allowed to opt out if we were not satisfied within 1-year. Before moving to performanceyard, our performance tracking was nothing more than random paperwork and no one had any idea where they stood regarding their promotion or even what goals they had met. Now, performanceyard allows us to keep a clear record of each employee's check-ins and milestone achievements directly on their profile pages, allowing managers to evaluate employees in a fair manner. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 4/5 - Value for money: 4/5 - Customer support: 4/5 - Functionality: 5/5 #### Pros I am using this system every day to pull up my monthly reviews, as well as my quarterly one-on-one meetings with my manager. The nice thing about performanceyard is that the learning library and feedback tool are both located within the same area allowing me to see what is pending without having to switch back and forth between five other systems. I am able to log into performanceyard through okta and google sso, making it easier for me because i do not need to remember yet another ridiculous password. #### Cons The administration aspect of performanceyard has been somewhat difficult to understand and building out the first few templates from the ground up takes way too long. Additionally, we are able to track our remote workers' goal setting through the system. If like myself you get completely lost in the Admin Menu Area, Customer Support Chat Responds Promptly. We've found the 360 Degree Reviews to be okay, too, especially since our Work Style is a mix of many different Clients in a Team Based Environment rather than the Traditional Hierarchical Structure. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 4/5 - Customer support: 5/5 - Functionality: 5/5 #### Pros PerformYard does a great job doing the review part without having to crash the entire system (a total loss); you can award badges or some sort of recognition, and there appears to be an online "Learning Library" of sorts. #### Cons Also nice is when reminders pop-up on my computer screen every time it's time for the quarterly performance reviews...I tend to forget. There isn't a grammar/spelling tool available for me to use while writing formal performance reviews. The Quarterly Check-In Listing will show exactly 3 (3) days before the deadlines but once shown, these listings are open for TWO WEEKS after the deadline. Sometimes the site loads VERY SLOWLY. Pulling reports from the last 90 days is very difficult. Before PerformYard, We had our Goals in Spreadsheets and Reviews in Emails, Everything was totally unorganized. This Platform allows us to put all of our Goals and Peer Reviews and Manager Check-Ins in One Spot, therefore I actually know what my manager expects from me. It prevents People from Only Remembering What You Did Last Week During the Year End Review. Gladly it doesn't break down when we all log in at the same time to complete Evaluations. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 4/5 - Value for money: 4/5 - Customer support: 4/5 - Functionality: 5/5 #### Pros I love that the 1 to 1 meeting tracking feature keeps previous weeks notes so i don’t forget what my manager and i talked about and also the slack integration reminds me via messages, which is great since i’m always logged into it anyway. I also like being able to view our organizational chart and who reports to whom, all without having to go through multiple spreadsheets and also I think the AI tone helper thing has been somewhat helpful in writing positive peer reviews with out sounding negative. #### Cons The Search bar is somewhat frustrating when I try to locate an older Training Course I've completed. There are also way too many steps to get from my Current Goals Page to a Feedback Note from like 3 months ago. Our managers no longer take months to create an actionable plan, they receive one in about 10 minutes due to the automated process that occurs after inputting data into the system. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 5/5 - Customer support: 5/5 - Functionality: 5/5 #### Pros These heatmap things help identify areas that are causing people to quit, and you do not have to dig through multiple spreadsheets to find those areas. Right now I’m sitting at my messiest desk sipping on cold coffee trying to get this done as quickly as possible; however, their AI summary tool did not fail us when we ran our large-scale survey. Also, the support staff people answer you back in support chat and remember where you left off if you had to leave and then came back. They also provide us with benchmarking data of other technology companies so our board has some type of reference point (other than asking us) to understand how we stack up against others. #### Cons During our live review cycle in the middle of it, PerformYard moved where the reports lived which destroyed the dailies we send to the CEO and illy provided us with nothing but raw data trash. Every single time I attempt to view the different report categories using the back button I am completely logged out of the application. Prior to using PerformYard, we used Google Forms and Microsoft Excel, a total mess, therefore I am glad that PerformYard puts all the evaluation questions/ratings in one place without causing anything else to fail. No longer do I have to physically search through paper HR files for information on previous evaluations etc... since it is now available on-line. If you wish you may also send pulse surveys out via this system. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 4/5 - Customer support: 5/5 - Functionality: 5/5 #### Pros I would have thought the 360 degree tool would totally be unworkable, however it has managed the comments surprisingly well. Emails automatically go out to remind employees (or managers) of upcoming deadlines so there's no "chasing" down people to get them to complete something they should already know about. #### Cons Making massive changes to the rating scale is literally impossible and will destroy both the new hire evaluations and annual evaluations. That makes zero sense. Managers also continue to miss the second confirmation button, it is located randomly throughout the program. All-in-all it seems like a clunky application, too many odd terms/terminology and just to exhausting to learn.
