PrimePay is a cloud-based human resources and payroll management solution designed for small businesses. It offers payroll management, a time clock, benefits administration and compliance management.

The PrimePay payroll solution includes payroll tax services, check payment options and document management. The tax management module allows users to manage state, federal and local tax filings. Users can also create custom reports on applicable taxes and track online pay statements.

PrimePay also features payroll reporting, where users can create and share standard reports such as compensation recaps, general ledger and 401(k) reports. The solution offers time tracking, which enables users to track employees’ time on the clock and calculate pay based on the time worked.

PrimePay offers subscription pricing based on the number of modules. The product offers integration with QuickBooks and Microsoft Word. The vendor offers a knowledge base and online support.

Didn't make it much past implementation...

Pros

Pleasant sales experience - made product sound great & had us excited to leave ADP!
Signed up for what appeared would be an easy, user-friendly payroll platform.
Please read (shortened) list of cons below

Cons

Implementation was terrible
Took a long time to recover from the tax mishap during implementation
Was really tricky to have an HSA Plan - deduction codes proved difficult to set up and GL mapping didn't align
Had to send specific codes to each employee in order for them to register and they couldn't do so until after the first processed payroll!

The price was fair for what you receive. There are some good reports that are useful for monthly payrolls, and year end reporting.

Cons

Customer service was the worst, and overall very limited reporting capabilities. As soon as our first year end, I pulled the plug on Primepay.

Reports and verification of payroll prior to the payroll being submitted.

Pros

Employee pay history is easy to run the report and our employees are very grateful. Entering Payroll takes very little time and the review process is very easy to balance back to our entry report that is completed prior to entering payroll into the system. I like the clock that runs when you are done entering and payroll has been submitted showing that the payroll is being generated. Nice touch.

Cons

Nothing, just a learning curve starting the system, but I'm sure before long it will be easy as can be.

Easy to use, and great report structures. Love that HR3 has carrier feeds. The new timeclock is great!

Cons

My biggest frustration is that there are too many links and no integration between software. You have to get a link to all different services (HR3, PayStubs, FSA, Timeclock) all have different links which frustrate users. Also, as the administrator, you are stuck with having to reach to so many departments because you no longer have a dedicated service manager.

This is my first experience with payroll software, it is so user friendly it makes the payroll process extremely easy to learn and use.

Pros

The program is very self explanatory, and the ease of changing or looking up employees information makes it a pleasure to use.

Cons

Although you can always reach customer service when needed, I find it is hard to contact our representative by phone promptly.

Easy Cobra administration

Pros

I manage my clients Cobra administration and it was a fairly easy system to use when I was able to access it.

Cons

I can no longer log into the site. After multiples calls for assistance, they are still unable to resolve the problems. I cannot talk directly with the IT department. Luckily, they have a team I can email the work to and they have to input it for me. I've not been happy with them and will be changing to another program.

Access to every report our non-profit might need. If I'm not sure about an aspect of the sw or a particular report, thankfully, I can pick up the phone & am greeted by someone local, willing to answer and help in any way!

Cons

Not sure what all the reports are or why there are so many but that's mostly on us being unlearned in HR matters. Sometimes I have to weed through all of the options to find what I really need.

I use PrimePays services to run my payroll, to pay my payroll taxes and to keep track of employee benefits such as sick hours, vacation and medical and supplemental insurance premiums, They make it easy to look up records and download information 24/7/365. Also in 10+ years with Primepay I have only had TWO different representatives handling my account. I love having someopne who knows and cares about me when I call for help!

Administration of our program - we only have 5 participants, so it's still an administrative burden for us to work with.

Pros

I like the software, the company, etc. - they do what they are supposed to do. The initial set up was guided by their staff and all questions were answered promptly. They sent staff to our open enrollment meetings to answer the questions of our employees and handled most of the setup through email/telephone.

Cons

I don't like the constant emails. Enough already... Every day a news blurb - sometimes even ones that don't have anything to do with their program. I know employers need to have a source of information, but if they already have a source, we need to have a way to opt out of general info emails and just get the ones pertaining to the program. Also, we don't need a -0- debit notice via email.
