Teamspective & feedback

PROS

The very best feature for me and from my point of view is the feedback possibility. It encourages people to send praises and give good feedback as well as asks you to get feedback from the others. Asking feedback in a normal conversation might feel awkward or not natural at all so this lowers the barrier to ask for a constructive feedback. And obviously giving the right type of feedback also needs to be practised and Teamsepctive gives good insight and help questions to fill in the right type of feedback.

CONS

The features I would like to have a wider view is on the pulse surveys. The 2.0 is on the way and the topics are wider so maybe that is the key to this challenge. The pulse questions have been more or less the same though couple of months so having more topics could keep it more interesting and maybe help others to be interested in longer.

Vendor Response

So happy to hear that the tool has helped you improve your feedback culture and lower the threshold for people to help each other grow! Next week's pulse update will definitely add both depth and variance to the pulse surveys. We hope it assesses your concerns. Please do message us with any further improvement ideas after you've tried a coupled of rounds :)

It's okay

Overall good. It's nice to get feedback from peers. It's great that we have the public slack channel where the boosts are broadcast, even when they are person to person. It creates an atmosphere that encourages more cheers and boosts, which I believe is beneficial for all.

PROS

It has an automated schedule that keeps asking me for input. Good frequency, not too often not too rarely. It guides and encourages towards giving feedback and boosts for peers.

CONS

I don't know if using this tool has lead to any actual actions from the employer. Concrete actions and followups would make this feel more significant. Right now it feels mostly like yelling in the void. It might be that our employer is doing something to fix issues, but there's no roadmap and checks to see if the actions taken fixed to lower results? Maybe the employer should set like a target to improve certain metric within a period, lay out the plan to improve it... Then verify after the period wether or not the metric improved. Also: It should ask more frequently who my teammates are, whom to send praise to. Our teams evolve constantly, and for example TS suggests me now to cheer a person I don't work with anymore. If I haven't praised them in times, ask for more suggestions.

Vendor Response

Thanks for these useful insights! Answers "disappearing into a black box" is a common phenomenon with any personnel surveys. One way we try to pre-empt this issue is that each team gets direct access to their own results and can take action on their own initiative as well, without needing to wait for a summary or direction from HR/management. A recommended best practice is to have a 30-45 minute discussion e.g. once a month on the team's pulse results to dive deeper into the causes of issues and plan concrete actions. On the top of the pulse Overview page, each team can also see noteworthy themes with a declining trend or a low score vs benchmarks. For some themes, it also directly links to playbooks for how to assess the issue ("Read playbook"). As a 3rd tip: You can also give anonymous feedback to your management about this (taking action on results) using the "Send Management Feedback" button on the Home tab of your Teamspective app in Slack/Teams :)

Quite handy pulse tool with Slack integration

It's quite a nice tool, but requires that the organisation using has got managers who actually look at the results and consider what they indicate for the company.

PROS

The cadence of pulses is not too much, nor too little. It is convenient to use as it integrates with Slack.

CONS

The questions seems to be the same most of the time. Some questions are formulated in a way that they get difficult to answer.

Vendor Response

Thanks for the feedback! Since the December update to the pulse tool ("Pulse 2.0"), the range of questions has increased and the automatic rotation has been improved significantly. However, not all of our client companies (though most) have updated to the new version yet. Also, admins can deselect certain themes and questions from the rotation. Please do check with your admins (usually HR) whether they have updated the pulse survey and have all relevant themes enables (under "Pulse" -> "Schedule"). PS: You are absolutely correct in that getting the most out of pulse surveys requires proactivity from managers, team leads, and the end users. As the developer of the tool, we of course try to contribute as best we can by: - making the results easily accessible & digestible for all users, - highlighting issues/metrics that warrant attention, and - providing tips and playbooks in the interface.

Its about your employee wellbeing

Overall we have been very satisfied with Teamspecitve as a tool, but also as a company. The founders and the whole team is actively involved with the development and actively seeking thoughts and ideas from the customers. They even host and facilitate gross customer idea sharing and development idea discussion.

PROS

We are because of our employees and customers. Keeping your staff and recruiting new people is key to our growth and profitability. For this we want to be on pulse how our people are feeling on their daily work and lives. Teamspective provides us an easy and convenient way to gather analytics from multiple different perspectives from our employees. The tool provides us very comprehensive analytics and up to date reports and still from respondents perspective the tool is easy, fast on non disturbing to use.

CONS

We were onboard with teamspective from very early stages so some of the features were not so "finalized". Still I would say that the cooperation with teamspective staff and constant development of the tool based on the customers feedback has provided us all the needed functionalities.

Vendor Response

We, too, have thoroughly enjoyed our early collaboration and further development of the Teamspective platform! Thank you again for all your inputs thus far. Let's keep feedback flowing

Great combination of feedback feature & pulse survey!

Customer support has been amazing! Very consultative approach, instead of just answering the questions.

PROS

The feedback tool has been extremely valuable to us, the UI is great! The feedback from employees has been very positive, a lot of employees mentioned this in our last development discussion round.

CONS

The software itself has been very user friendly. However, the combination of ATS, HR system + Teamspective makes it relatively cost-heavy package for a small company like us.

Reason for choosing Teamspective

Feedback option

Reasons for switching to Teamspective

Feedback feature + Finnish company

Vendor Response

Supernice to hear that your employees have found the service valuable and easy to use! Of course, specialized HR and TA tools do cost separately. However, I guess the pulse surveys' Slack/Teams integration alone saves your staff hours of valuable work time every week - not even factoring in how the insights can improve employee engagement, wellbeing, and the company culture as a whole. We will also continue to add more valuable features in the future. You may also consider trying out our revamped Organizational Network Analysis solution, which also makes the pulse results yet more insightful.
