Wagepoint is a cloud-based payroll management solution that caters to small businesses helping them to pay their employees or contractors while remaining compliant with IRS regulations. It serves businesses across industries like banking, distribution, healthcare, retail and more.

Wagepoint can handle direct deposits, federal, state, and local tax reporting, W2s, W3s, 1099s and online pay stubs. It also offers multi-currency support. Wagepoint is compatible with Windows and MacOS operating systems.

Employers can share access with employees to view their personal information, including pay stubs, helping them replace the lost documents. Users accessing the system can add multiple “pay groups” to keep track of employees and contractors that are on different pay schedules.

Wagepoint offers “Switch It” feature, wherein organizations switch over the existing payroll system to their own. Services are offered on a daily basis that includes support via phone, email and through other online resources.

Excellent customer service

The software helps manage employees on different schedules, contractual and permanent. It makes it easy to pay workers, calculate taxes with ease and directly deposit the salaries to the employees using the software. It is simple to understand and user friendly.

Pros

I must comment on the customer support team, they are always ready to help and respond to customer queries. Is it very useful in paying contractual staff daily , weekly and montly.

Cons

It is only suitable for small organizations, this limits its use in large multinational companies.

One of the best tools to manage employee payrolls

We can now manage our employee payrolls more easily with the use of Wagepoint

Pros

We are regularly using Wagepoint as we have employees on multiple countries and needs to manage them simultaneously. This task is done through Wagepoint and we are happy with it. The monthly report is easy and rich with all the needy features. We can get the payroll and the statements done in a small matter of time by using Wagepoint

Cons

The main issue is that multi currency support is not yet implemented and it needs to be added asap

Amazing Full Features Automatic Payroll!

It's been excellent and I hope to stay with them for years. I'm able to run my business without worrying about the headache of payroll.

Pros

I decided on this product just for the automatic tax filing of the 1099s/W2s and quarterly reports on my behalf. Anything to help save me time from doing any tax work is fully appreciated. The website actually goes well above and beyond with the free reports you're able to generate for your needs, the flexibility of modifying payments and running one time payments, it's so fully featured I'm amazed at how it's able to stay so cheap and offer so much.

Cons

If I had to name one thing it would be the lack of easy documentation for doing more complex payroll activities, such as garnishing an employee for child support but a simple email to their support email and I got my answer.

Simple and Effective, Exactly what you need from a Payroll System

Pros

I like that it takes care of everything for me, remittances to CRA, vacation, ROE, even covers contractor payment (including generating the contractor tax forms). I looked at other payroll solutions but they came up short in one way or another. I was completely new to Payroll, and every time I called, I was able to reach someone knowledgable who guided me at every step of the way. I've already recommended Wagepoint to 3 other founders. There's a lot to do as a startup founder, so it's nice that Wagepoint takes care of a lot of the complexity around Payroll.

Cons

I think they could add more features; like managing team schedules, vacation, feedback, etc. I believe they are working on some of these features already. Those would be nice for them to have as optional add-ons.

Constantly changing, customer service is sub par

Pros

The interface is attractive and colourful, all back end accounting is done easily and prepared for you. Easy access to the site set up was easy but not easy to customize based on specific needs for different companies.

Cons

Customer services takes their time to review support requests, communication lacks from this company, constantly changing the site and functions making it a learning curve every time you run payroll. Some reports needed they don't even have access to

Interactive website and easy payroll system.

Payroll is managed in a few clicks and it is made so easy to handle by making it so interactive and yet so simple. Customer support answer all the queries of our company very fast.

Pros

It is a very simple way to deal with payroll needs. The software does according to the name. If once it is setup the worries are gone and payroll is managed in few clicks. The most important aspect is the customer support which is so ready to help you at any time. They reply so fast to all of the queries.

Cons

Some more customization should be permitted and the server should be made a little faster. Still they do tremendous work for us but a little more speed can be expected. Approval for payroll print should be a feature too.

Great for small business to manage payroll

Pros

All I have to do is login every 2 weeks to put in contractor hours and employee time. Payroll is processed and they automatically deposit into our accounts.

Cons

It was difficult to set up. I have no payroll or tax background and I was confused as to what I needed to do to comply with state and federal laws.

An experience in frustration and bewilderment

We received no benefit from this software. Instead it was a giant waste of time and effort working with this company.

Pros

I do not have any thing good to say about the use of this product. The project was a complete waste of time due to Wagepoint.

Cons

We spent about a week and a half getting it setup. We were told we were good to go. An hour later we were told our account was closed, and could not get a reason. Then, in that e-mail chain of being informed we could not use the service, the message was sent to a different company. If a company cannot be trusted to communicate without improperly sending communications to another party, I could not in good faith trust them to handle our employees banking and other personal information.

Once in, incredibly intuitive and easy.

Pros

I can do payroll in less than a minute. Also, it protects me from myself by taking the deductions out of my bank account to pay the government, so we don't worry about remitting that separately every month anymore.

Cons

It was a little tricky to navigate the setup, but the customer service was incredibly personal, fast and effective.

Wagepoint staff are remarkable!

Pros

I love the ease in which to enter all my employee data, have my own control over input without depending on a customer service rep to call me and communicate information over the phone.

Cons

At this point I don't see any negative aspects. I have not yet tried to input payroll from another area other than my computer at work, so I'm looking forward to trying that out one day.

Great payroll software and service, but could use polish

Pros

Love the series that come with the software. Payroll is fast in most cases. Track app is also really cool, but in obvious beta. Really looking forward to it becoming fuller (would be amazing to see scheduling and timesheet management!).

Customer service is e-mail only, but they are super helpful and thorough.

Cons

The whole interface is a bit dated, and for some reason, everything is squished into a small division on a page. Making the window bigger doesn't show extra information. It seems limiting, and the next two issues probably stem from this design choice.

Paying vacation is a pain. You have to take the accrued vacation, then divide it by their pay, so you can add it to the pay in HOUR format. Why not just have the information available on the main payroll screen and add it as dollar amounts? Strange manual work for a product that is so automatic otherwise.

Adding tips is a strange too. You have to manually choose to add tips every time. Should be configurable to always show tips column, for example.

Reports could be more customizable. Like totals for specific time periods.

Quebec support could be a bit better.

Pros

Set up is super super easy. Like all new products, I thought it might be difficult but this did not disappoint.

Hands on support and set up for all my clients, whether they are my first or fifth.

Pros

Single login for all client files. The support team is able to respond usually same day or at the latest the next morning. Straight forward processing.

Cons

That it won't track advances (issuance and repayments) so I have to manually track to ensure that everyone has repaid.

What I like least about the software is not being able to contact a person directly. Every business should give the customer an opportunity to speak directly to a person.

Amazingly easy to use and fantastic customer service!

Easy to use and setup the payroll for our company so it will be able to grow with us.

Pros

The software was very easy to use and the customer service was fantastic. Thanks to my Customer Success Manager, who provided a great customer service experience. With her help and guidance I was able to set up the system, add my employees and get started within a couple of hours. This system is easy to use and essentially follows a step by step process that guides you to complete your payroll. Easy to access reports and very simple to set up the portal for our employees to get their stubs.

Cons

There could be some better how to information on site and if all types of income being paid could be visible at the same time on the data entry page would be good.
