Pros

My favorite part of ZR is the ease for applicants to apply for jobs via smart phone. This is modern and super productive for both parties. As a hobby graphic design I also enjoy the simple design of the site. Layout is simple and the colors are a great fit. The most beneficial part of ZR the work they already do for you. With the "great match" feature my team was able to prioritize screens based on the qualified profiles.

Cons

We had some issues with our representative. She was super sweet yet we were promised 7 days more than we were actually given; each profile was supposed be granted 25/day limit yet it changed to 25/month in which I had to share with my teammates. This was super frustrating.
Although ZR holds some great feature we did find we were getting large pool of candidates yet most of them were not nearly a fit. I also don't see a 25/day limit being beneficial for agencies with many positions to fill.

Great overall product!

Pros

The website is very user friendly in narrowing candidates. It allows for quick summary of the positions so both ends can find a good fit.

There is not a lot to complain about with this software. I recommend it highly to friends when looking for jobs or candidates.

Pros

I’ve created jobs and applied to jobs using ZipRecruiter. I enjoy the fact that I can make one profile and easy apply to several jobs and that it keeps track of how many I’ve applied to. It also sends recommendations via email, text and mobile notifications. As an employer it’s pretty intuitive and you can organize and track your applicants very easily as well as source candidates if needed.

Cons

Sometimes getting the algorithm to send you jobs that you’re interested and qualified for can be off, but it can be enchanted with a little work on your part as the applicant by responding as to why it isn’t a good fit.

Just wish they could stop sending so many messages to my job! I get it, you're available and ready to have us sign up again. We dont need this much communication!

Pros

You get a lot of applicants, if you can read them. A bunch of free options to post open positions.

Cons

After signing up for the first free option, then a paid option, every person in my office now receives notification of a free posting. The resumes that come in are in basic notepad font, making it harder to read. If someone placed their resume as a one page, its now a 3-4 page. Simple errors turn into nightmares to try and view the applications.

A Cost Effective Tool for Hiring New Talent

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Product Quality

Customer Support

Value for Money

Pros

The software is very user friendly. It is easy to not only post openings for my organization but to also manage the applicants who apply. The graphic User Interface (GUI) is user-appealing and I found there to be very little time required to ramp up when I first started using the system.

Cons

When you pause your subscription, you are charged a month to not lose your stored data. When we have a lull in hiring, it doesn't make sense to pay for job slots, so we request a pause. However, it seems counter-intuitive to charge an employee who obviously wants to use your product again going forward when hiring needs change by holding their data ransom.

The system will help you find general labor candidates but their costs are very high for the candidates that you are getting.

Pros

You are able to search candidates by the job they have applied for or by keyword. You can also search by area.

You get applicants from other countries, and across the country for general labor positions. There are also resumes that are over 3 years old in their system.

Cons

The customer service is poor. I attempted to contact the company in an attempt to set up a standard monthly fee and program for our recruiting needs and they never responded. I attempted to reach out to them 4 times before giving up and discontinuing the usage of the product. The product is great, they just need to be responsive to their paying customers.

Pros

What I like most about ZipRecruiter is that the system automatically posts your company's job openings to several job board all at once to generate tens or hundreds of candidates in an extremely short amount of time. Also, the overall dashboard for employers is very easy to navigate making it quick to filter through candidates as needed.

Cons

What I like least about ZipRecruiter is that although the system enables employers to quickly generate a large amount of candidates, the candidates that you receive are not always the most qualified. This often times caused our team to have to filter through several resumes, many of whom we didn't want to even consider moving forward with based on their lack of experience relating to our openings. If ZipRecruiter could better identify qualified candidates, my experience would have been much better.

If you are looking for positions that are not technical and do not require experience, then ZipRecruiter may work for you. I received a large number of applications from the site. Unfortunately, the applications I received were from candidates that did not have any experience relevant to the job I was hiring for. I have heard from others that ZipRecruiter is an excellent resource for sales representatives.

Pros

It is very easy to post jobs on ZipRecruiter. The User Interface is very user friendly and simple to determine what to post.

Cons

The candidates that applied to my Software Engineer and Software Project Manager roles were not qualified at all. I received resumes from janitors, restaurant workers, fast food restaurant managers, and grocery store clerks, but did not receive a single candidate that was even worth a phone call for my positions, which require much more experience.

Pros

ZipRecruiter has a nice database of candidates that is relatively easy to search. They provide no shortage of candidates as well applying for positions. It is a good site for posting and praying or if you have open parameters for filling a position.

Cons

Most of the candidates that apply for jobs are not qualified for the position they are applying for. The way ZipRecruiter lets candidates build a resume' is very basic and the system allows candidates to apply for jobs without really even sharing any relevant credentials. The functionality of ZipRecruiter is extremely limited when it comes to compliance and reporting for Affirmative Action Employers.

Likes Best

It's cheap and allows hiring managers and internal recruiters to quickly share the workload related to screening and onboarding. Really like the quick, but very useful emails, with the resume attached. Great for sitting at the airport and reviewing resumes. The custom tags are very useful.

Likes Least

The UI doesn't allow much personalization. I only care about a couple job postings, and everything from my company is loaded in, without the ability to save custom views and dashboards. Also would really like a high level dashboard with key metrics (new applicants, total unreviewed applicants, number of thumbs up/flat/down, ALL PER POSITION, or FOR ONLY THE POSITIONS I CARE ABOUT)

Recommendations

Constantly hone in your JD's based on the candidates you get. Sometimes I am getting too technical resources, so I tweak it, and get too junior resources, and keep adjusting your JD's
