Cin7 is an inventory management solution designed for small and midsize retail and wholesale businesses. It offers inventory management, point-of-sale, warehouse management and reporting functionality within a suite. The solution can be deployed both as a cloud-based and on-premise system.

Cin7 features e-commerce integration that allows users to display the accurate pricing of items based on the stock’s real-time landing price. Users can track their inventory in real time, which helps with preventing overselling and over allocation.

Cin7 offers stock reorder functionality, allowing users to create purchase orders directly from the inventory portal during an inventory shortage. The solution also features third party logistics services, which helps users ship stock from their warehouses via registered logistics companies.

With the help of customized reporting and dashboards for tracking and monitoring all the inventory data, users gain a complete view of all their warehouse and shipping activities and are better equipped to make inventory and stock level decisions.

System implementations are never fun

Cin7 resolves our business need of needing a CRM to integrate into an account software. Like with all new systems implementation, its a stressful exercise for businesses. Cin7 provided the support we needed during this time. We hope this partnership continues to flourish, and we look forward to continuing on the journey of building our business with them.

Pros

The biggest attraction with Cin7 was finding a CRM partner that could support our business. Cin7 has the size and support team we require to fulfil that need.
The integration with Xero .
The system has a lot of clever functionality.
The support received during the 3months post implementation was good. We had a dedicated account manager Srikanth who guided and was the go to person for all issues. He was responsive to our needs and did the best to represent our business issues to the internal developers.

Cons

Our business product cost model is based on detailed per unit cost at large quantity. Cin7 is currently unable to deal with this requirement on a consistent level whereby all features of the system is gathering and reporting consistently at 4dp.

Cin7 is not the easiest system to use. Screens are very full and system processes are often complicated and multi stepped. eg when selecting kitset items in sales orders

Ease of customisation or feature/report enhancements. There is no clear path from customer's perspective how to have this done. As customers we are willing to pay if the feature is crucial, however does not seem to be an option.

This is our first time using Cin7 and so far it’s been great! Our direct contact has been on top of everything. He’s guided us throughout the process which makes the every transaction smoother. I would definitely recommend Cin7 and him!

NO General ledger and Not recommended if you have large qty of inventory

4. If you choose to create all items for Cin 7 to integrate with Quickbooks, then you will need to create all items you have once more so that it can sync with Cin7. 5. Reports accuracy. If you run different reports the total sales amount most likely will be different. This is mostly because if you don't select the item from the drop down list you can still save the order while you think it will be calculated. Or if you somehow change the item number then you change it back it can't recognize it. 6. Tax issue. I don't know who's the accounting person with them designed this software but the tax charge can not be charged on line level - it can only be charged on order level. Therefore, if you want to have an invoice include both taxable item and non-taxable service on the order, your customer will be taxed for the service part or you will need to do 2 separate invoices. 7. Customer balance. This is a totally failed function for Cin7 since they don't use general ledger for reports. The "Paid" mark on the sales order page is NOT accurate - I have seen orders with payments shows no mark and orders without payments shows "Paid 100%". The customer's balance under CRM is pretty much a joke because of the customer payments postings recognition issue. 8. Other service issues - customer service, billing, and so on. I caught one order created by their customer service in our system not void no notes no notices. Overall, very disappointed.

Pros

The user interface is easy to understand and straight forward. Charts are pretty. I think the software will be good for a tiny business that only use Cin 7 for all basic functions - inventory, customer management, etc.

Cons

The biggest issue is NO General Ledger supported within the software so their reports are simply adds and minuses so sometimes the formula can gets messed up. We have switched to another software. I had a few major issues with Cin 7 and we were working with Cin 7 and Quickbooks integration:

1. Timing issue with Cin7. I don't know what time settings in Cin7 is but the time stamps are messed up for some orders.

2. Due to the timing issue, their inventory posting timing are super delayed. The customer service told me that the COGS only will be calculated after 24 hours of the order invoiced AND dispatched. This is also partly caused by no general ledger set up. Your COGS report will NOT be accurate if you dispatch and invoiced the order say - 8p.m. on last day of the month. The COGS report may calculate it on the first day of the following month. This is a huge issue for monthly reporting.

3. Integration. I only experienced Cin 7 with Quickbooks and it was a disaster. I was not participated in the implementation process so I don't know who's idea it was to create only one item in Quickbooks and when import data from Cin 7 to QB it only imports the amount of the total sales of line items to Quickbooks and descriptions but no inventory movement and no record of number of qty of products sold. You must rely on Cin7's reports for this part but the reports. This option should never supported by Cin 7 as their reports are not always accurate.

It has been a very good experience.

Pros

This program offers everything that I need to run my business, at a very reasonable price. It has a multitude of different functions, and the customer service is very good.

Cons

I would like to see more reporting on the program, like inventory turns.

Cin7 is great to use, but needs a bit of improvement

It is a software that has so many options a has a good customer service with updates and someone ready to help. It has many good features as well. The main con is that is crashes too much and sometimes it becomes a liability at work.

Pros

You have so many options to complement retail sales, such as reporting, branch transfers and most important, a flexibility to jump from date to date and search over a big database of sales and customers. .

Cons

Even though it is easy to use, the system crashes a lot, so it is difficult to work without a system that is carried through a business

A must to manage stock

I like the fact that it integrates with Xero and Shopify and that you can also set up websites through it

We have been with CIN7 since June this year. We have had fantastic support to assist with working the programme. It has assisted us greatly with stock control & purchasing.

Good alternative for Excel Files

CIN7 has been such an amazing easy to use cloud platform. The on-boarding was super helpful. My specialist was able to help me every step of the way.

Expensive, comprehensive but slightly cumbersome

We had real issues with clients managing their stock levels, movement of stock, manufacturing of goods, and warehouse management. We moved several clients onto CIN7 and it does the job very well. We can have a stock figure live, online any time of the day or night.

Pros

Fully featured software. They really have thought of every eventuality and cater for it. There are so many things you can do with this software.

Cons

It's so big and bitty that it doesn't feel good or easy to use. It is stable and reliable but doesn't feel that way. It has so many features that it's really difficult to set up and not that easy to learn to use. It's not the most intuitive software.

Cloud based inventory system for merchants

Pros

Very robust. Pricing was about middle of the pack. Would be perfect for Fashion and Apparel retailers, beauty, cosmetics, furniture.

Brilliant

I am very happy with my overall experience with Cin7. I have been able to track inventory from multiple locations, integrate my accounting software and integrate a vendor EDI system to the software.

Pros

The Cin7 staff and customer service really stand out. The customer representative has been an incredible help in providing one-on-one guidance and direction in integrating the software with all of our platforms.
The sophistication of the software is impressive as is the ability to deal with multiple locations, regions, pricing, fulfillment centers as well as its B2B platform. I would highly recommend the software and staff.

Nothing to note the software is very sophisticated so takes some time to set up

Excellent Overall Service

Sri has been an integral part of picking up the many pieces that we were unsure about and him fixed and helping us through the stages.

Cin7 is a great one stop cloud based platform for inventory managemnt . Their workflow is very good and their support is great.

Cons

The PO workflow of adding freight and duty into seperate PO to link to the original is archaic and i hope they get this issue sorted asap. Im sure other people have complained about this also.

Robust, Customization Friendly and Efficient

Very friendly and respectful group to work with Support is effective, but I recommend using videos to describe any issues that are complex We have been assigned an exceptional support member from Cin7. Customer rep. has been extremely helpful in resolving our integration issues and customization needs. He is very bright and able to assimilate lots of information quickly to understand an issue and work with his Cin7 colleagues to find the best resolutions. He also has excellent follow-through. My advice is to ask for him.

Pros

We’ve been utilizing Cin7 for about 9 months. We integrated the Cin7 for our business during Q1 2018. We have found the Cin7 platform to be robust, and the customizations they provide to accommodate specific business needs have been very important towards running our operation effectively and efficiently.
In summary:
 Robust platform for a small to mid-size business
 Inventory management capabilities are strong
 Sales Order and Purchase Order functionality is solid
 Reporting capability has improved with more features and functions this year.

There is a cope for improvement as it ages.

CIN7 increased our monthly charge three fold

Pros

cloud based - which at this point is about the only thing i liked - clearly not sufficient

Cons

Buyer beware. I signed up in spring of 2017 to use CIN7 for my two retail businesses. The first was an ok experience; the second was in onboarding stage for almost a year. At that point, in spring 2018, CIN7 announced that they were tripling our monthly charge for both accounts and there was nothing I could do. We tried to resolve and come to a compromise, and there was a complete lack of interest in hearing a customer’s point of view. So, after paying them multiple thousands of dollars, and investing additional thousands of dollars in training, we got to dump everything and go elsewhere. I’m still appalled when I think about their business practices and complete lack of respect for the customer relationship.

After 3 months of implementation and time wasting, cin7 is unable to provide the promised and won't refund!

Pros

It's cloud based and look modern. I like the idea of what Cin7 says it will offer on paper and maybe it works for other businesses, but certainly not in my case. Started off very good. Lots of promises, very friendly, good value etc; then it just goes downhill from there.

Cons

Went through the details and the proposed process of implementation, as I was a little sceptical, I was told that all the fees would be refunded if Cin7 isn't able to provide as promised. So, after three months they finally say they won't be able to do what's required. During the 3 months I had to chase regularly for any updates. On a number of occasions I was offered 'workarounds' rather than solutions. I tried to be reasonable and compromised on certain things that we as a business could live without (or do manually). Bottom line is Cin7 failed to deliver certain customisation which was promised at the very beginning which is integral to our business and are now trying to come up with some excuses, whilst not issuing a refund. I have all the proof in writing and I am not going to let this just pass without getting my money back. I regret dealing with Cin7 and would recommend to seek alternative solutions.

Fast and Easy

The processing of inwards and dispatch has improves considerably using the Pick n pack feature.

Pros

What I like most about this software is how easy it is to use, training staff is much easier and has seen benefits in a reduction of hours spent on training. Because of how easier it is there is less incidents of issues or data been input incorrectly.

Cons

The feature I like least about CIN7 is not being able to have Phone Numbers or contact number as a coloumn in the CRM
