Cin7 is an inventory management solution designed for small and midsize retail and wholesale businesses. It offers inventory management, point-of-sale, warehouse management and reporting functionality within a suite. The solution can be deployed both as a cloud-based and on-premise system.

Cin7 features e-commerce integration that allows users to display the accurate pricing of items based on the stock’s real-time landing price. Users can track their inventory in real time, which helps with preventing overselling and over allocation.

Cin7 offers stock reorder functionality, allowing users to create purchase orders directly from the inventory portal during an inventory shortage. The solution also features third party logistics services, which helps users ship stock from their warehouses via registered logistics companies.

With the help of customized reporting and dashboards for tracking and monitoring all the inventory data, users gain a complete view of all their warehouse and shipping activities and are better equipped to make inventory and stock level decisions.

Pros

We use CIN7 as onmichannel retailer. Easily integrates via EDI or API with our retail partners. We keep all our SKUs in the system and love how it works. Order processing is a pleasure now.

Cons

Seemed a bit rigid at first, but we found solutions for most issues. There are still some limitations to the functionality, e.g. we cannot switch off inventory feeds on the weekend.

If they had account managers that helped follow things thru and understood the system . It would be a really good system .

Pros

Basic stuff works ok . Pretty stable cloud plate form . Good view of products purchased from customers in Crm

Cons

Not even sure if we can use it , for on account customers ( 4 +years later ) intergration to Shopify poor . Stocktake module good luck .
Smart buyer no good if you have more that one store . View on location stock when doing adjustments useless . Ebay module is for downloading orders only . Lots of bugs in general . Pay for premium support and still seem to go around in circles

Its also a very user friendly software.

I just experienced a little slow in generatng reports. Maybe our internet connection contributes to this event..so nothing to worry about.

We looked at many small/medium and fast growing business inventory management options and Cin7 stands out significantly above the rest. It also interfaces perfectly with our Xero accounting package and actually supplements some of the Xero weaknesses.

Pros

- Relatively easy implementation with little/no disruption
- Affordable cost
- Fantastic functionality for the price
- Don't need a specialist Cin7 operator internally

Cons

- The support in our case was not great but there may have been reasons that I'm unaware of as I wasn't part of implementation
- Not much else

Switching to Trade Gecko is in the process. Trade Gecko looks like a dream.

Cons

Since writing my last review I've had the 'head of support' helping me, assuring me we'd resolve my issues. He was in touch twice pleading with me to stay on the system before I got an out off office from his email address notifying me he's away for two weeks. On top of this I've been charged extra a month for an extra user as I entered my accountant's information in the 'new user' section. Nowhere does it mention that there will be a charge to do this, and I'm pretty positive this is actually against the law. So far they've said they can't issue a refund.

We suggest you to wait to subscribe to this product until the company is able to deliver the full functionalities they claim they offer.

Pros

Functionalities of this product are what small companies need, if only they were working.
This remains a good project on paper, and it would be great if offered for free until it is working properly to clients helping the development of a final product. Now it is working with 60-70% of the minimum required functionalities. The risks of being blocked with shipments and invoices are always there.

Cons

This is still a prototype, charged to customers as a final product, probably to finance the completion of the software development. We subscribed for a base plan and we were forced to move to premium plan. We cannot switch immediately due to the big time and money invested in setup and integration, and we will soon do it if they do not fix the issues. So far, support is not able to solve issues in real time, therefore we had and are having huge issues with customers with blocked deliveries, wrong documents (invoices and packing lists sent out). And we did not receive any refund or apology with a plan to fix issues.
Having mistakes in reporting, and official documents like prices and amount of invoices is not acceptable.

Customer service has been generally very responsive and helpful in solving problems. Most other software packages in this range barely even offer support!

Pros

The range of functionality that Cin7 offers is similar or even superior to what other platforms offer for almost twice the price. While I wouldn't call it perfect, it has definitely increased our ability to analyze our business performance and stay on top of everything on a daily basis.

Cons

As with any software system transition, there are some functionalities that you have to sacrifice to gain others. We are still adjusting somewhat to the new system, though we are definitely in a much better place than we were with our previous software package!

The features on offer are promising and if they all worked well, the value for money would be fairly good. The implementation charges are reasonable for the level of detail required to get the system up and running.

Cons

The software feels like it is still in beta and we have found quite a number of bugs. Most of the time it's a challenge to even convince their support to take responsibility of the problem and generally the solution is a workaround rather than an actual fix. There are a lot of problems we simply gave up on trying to resolve entirely. There are bugs they fixed that were subsequently reintroduced later on. At the moment their own financial reports don't add up and we can't even complete the essential end of year activities we need to. Over a week has passed with no resolution despite daily follow up, their excuse is that unless we pay them extra to get upgraded support they can't keep up with all the issues they have at the moment!

The only reporting case submitted to support in the last month was replied to the same day and Stuart thanked us for our speedy response. Premium support gets you faster email responses and phone support, it does not affect the number of queries we can respond to.

More settings access for admins, sometimes you have to escalate minor things to the support team which i could have fixed or changed. Unfortunately they moved pricing increaseing it by 40% half way through the year, for a small business <5 users its not easy to absorb

It's not overpriced. Allows us to fairly easily manage multiple channels. If you know exactly what you need during set up, they're very good at customizing for you.

Cons

If you don't opt for premium support, don't bother. It's painful to resolve anything more than a very, very basic query using their basic email support. The issue is that premium support will double the cost taking away one of the pros I offer here. I tried to increase our use of this platform by using their current stock valuation report. After days of emailing back and forth and hours upon hours of my time on data entry, cin7 can't provide this functionality.

It's cloud based and can be accessed and used from anywhere.

Pros

New Zealand based with local offices. They do run training sessions hands on and say good things. Inventory side works okay.

Cons

The POS can't cope with our volume discounts and is unusable. No action to help us with that though we have pleaded with them for years. We're expected to change the way we classify quantities to fit their system, not fit the system to our needs. Also the "product cost" figure loaded against the product gets changed by the PO's. As product is sold and shipped the cost is pulled from the PO's in FIFO order and it changes the cost against the product. I want to load the "cost" then monitor our purchasing against the expected cost, not be driven by the system. Also, when Cin7 make changes to their software we often have very negative events happen that have no obvious connection to the change they made and they have been slow to help rectify. We are also not sure that the Cin7-Xero link works properly. We have seen historical "changes" happen to COGS in Cin7 vis-a-vis Xero back for two years with no apparent explanation. We're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars differences in the COGS figure. The charges they make to us to use the system are escalating and seem out of control. When trying to contact them about charges they don't have an "accounts" department. Really? It seems to be charge what they like and ignore the queries.

Pros

Its user friendly, has many reporting options, integrates with quickbooks and gives us more accurate idea of our cost and profitability. We even had some unique features we needed integrated within Quickbooks and they were able to respond quickly and add those features specific to us.

Cons

I wish stock was more virtual. We purchase cases but sell by each and case; I wish I didn't have to disassemble the cases and it did it automatically as needed.

Cin7 has made all components of B2B management a whole lot easier, increasing the productivity of our business and allowing us to save money in the process. With easy to read formatting, it is the best inventory control system we have seen.

Cons

Cons:  we have not yet experienced any problems with Cin7. We would only suggest that it helped build customer's reports.

Overall: 
As we were not experienced with system changeover the transition to using Cin7 was easy with the support we were initially provided to get to know the system, although this only lasted 30 days. This is only a small milestone in the very necessary transition your business needs. Learning Cin7 allowed us to improve all aspects of management and planning of our inventory and accounting.

Cin7 made working and managing inventory a whole lot easier without extensive learning in how to use the system. Its ease of use makes my work days more efficient and I would definitely recommend everyone to use it.

Pros

With seamless incorporation of Xero, Cin7 has allowed us to improve our capability in managing our purchase orders and accounting system. Such as; keeping track of inventory to maintain consistent stock flow, managing deliveries and completing purchase orders. As well as improving communication of our accounting system through all levels of the business.

Cons

I would only say that I wish the personal onboarding assistant lasted until you were completely comfortable with the system, not just the first 30 days and I think the program could be even better than it already is if it helped build customers reports.

I do not have a whole lot of bad things to say about the software although I think that the interface could be updated.

The reporting systems and EDI/API integration are more expansive and user friendly than our old system. I also like the ease of integration between Shopify and Cin-7, and the stock management systems.

Cons

The on boarding process-but who likes that!? As my colleague and I weren't experienced in system integrations we struggled in the beginning but with suppoer from Cin-7 got there in the end.

Pros

We transitioned to CIN7 in December and are fully using this system now. We love the integration between detailed reporting and connection of our EDI/API's. Since we deal with Northern & Southern Hemisphere customers this has really helped keep efficiency within our business and allowing our small team to have time to focus on the things that matter not just administration. It is very easy to use and such an easy workflow.
We can't wait to see what other great integrations that will be added!

Cons

Although there were quite a few teething issues & regular bugs which is understandable, the process of on boarding could be further outlined in a little more detail- would be my only recommendation.
