Buffer can also automatically publish social media posts at predetermined times. Buffer has a browser extension and mobile apps so that users can share and create social media posts from anywhere.

Buffer also provides advanced analytics to track social media performance and see weekly or monthly results. Analytics data can also be exported to do further calculations or to create reports.

Simple and straight forward solution to manage social media

We have a small NGO, and we found this free tool so that we could schedule posts accross multiple platforms with different messages as we are volunteers we dont have that much time so this really helps us and is very easy an straightforward.

Pros

It's really easy to use and you can customize messages per platform which is really handy.

Cons

For the use that we give to it, there's nothing I don't like

Pros

We use it to set up all our tweet and linkedin posts and it gets the job done.

Cons

Hard to complain, it's free. It could be a bit easier to use but overall no complaints.

Solid platform for all social media

Buffer has made our online social media plan clear and easy to manage. It is a crucial time saver for us.

Pros

Allows for a single posting across multiple social media platforms.

Cons

There was a slight learning curving and a significant cost for expanding to the business account.

Periodic Insta and Face publications

With this tool, I seat on my computer for a couple of minutes, and prepare a week of posts, that Buffer automaticaly will post during next days, FOR FREE.

Pros

The ease to use software, the features, the possibility to post periodicly with no cost.

Cons

It should be possible to edit photos, and to bypass some problems with multiple photos posts on Instagram

Post social media content more intelligently

Pros

Buffer made me look like an active and engaged social media user even if I hadn't logged in in days. Buffer is a great idea and I really liked the way that posts could be timed to maximize audience visibility across a variety of social media platforms.

Cons

Needlessly pricey. My needs in this realm are greater than being able to queue up 10 posts at a time but not great enough to justify the pricetag.

post directly to IG

Pros

Buffer lets you post directly on IG without those 'copy caption and image' and paste on IG. This way it saves alot of my time not need to worry to post on the spot.

Cons

no grid preview option. Unlike planoly, it doesn't give you a preview of your grid. But that is not a deal breaker for my case

Response: Buffer, Buffer

Hi, Stephen, so great to hear that you like our Instagram integration! In case it's helpful to know, we have the grid preview option for our Business plans.

Makes Social Media posting a breeze!

Even with horrid customer service (my pet peeve). The tool is VERY helpful, the free version allows up to 10 posts per platform (limited to 6 I think), which is a god-send from having to post daily on multiple platforms.

Pros

I love that every couple weeks, I can generate a bunch of Social Media posts, load them into Buffer.com and not have to think about that task again except to follow up on comments and engagement. Buffer makes this monumental task a breeze!

I also love that you can set the timing of the posts as well as re-arrange/scramble the posts for each platform. Super handy so that if you engage with people across those accounts, they can see different posts at different times, which makes it come across more organically.

Cons

Even though there is the opportunity to format your post for each SM platform, they still don't translate that well. Because IG is the pickiest of the SM platforms, I've used that format as my main guide, but IG posts don't fit the LinkedIn frame, and videos longer than 60 seconds won't post to IG as a video, only as a link.

And customer service is zero.

Response: Buffer, Buffer

Thank you for the kind feedback, Jan! It's so cool to hear that Buffer helps free up your time so that you can follow up on comments and engagement. I'm sorry to hear that you have not had a good customer experience with us. If you face any issues again, please feel free to tweet us at @buffer. Thank you. -Alfred

Still one of the best social media schedulers

Pros

Quick to schedule social media posts to multiple accounts in a few clicks. Extremely versatile and easy to use.

I have used many social media scheduling tools over the years but keep coming back to Buffer. I actually used the free version for many years but as a business grows and your social media presence grows it is better to pay for a solution that allows you to manage them all under one roof.

When it comes to scheduling posts, the interface is clean and simple and easy to use. There is link shortening too if required.

The limit for queued posts is 100 per social media account which is easily enough for at least a month's worth of posts so should be sufficient for most users.

Automatic Instagram posting is a relatively new and welcome addition to Buffer.

Support are pretty responsive when required but I haven't needed much from them in all honesty.

All in all I really like Buffer. It is considerably cheaper than many of its competitors and does what it does really well and if someone is looking to buy into a paid social media scheduling tool I would recommend they start here.

Cons

RSS feed can be a bit clunky.

Is 8 accounts generous enough? You are "limited" to 8 social media accounts on the Pro plan which sounds a lot but can be filled up quickly. They reduced this in March 2018 from 10 to 8 which was disappointing.

Another disappointment is the lack of a native way to enable bulk scheduling by uploading a csv file. This is available in other schedulers (although they are considerably more expensive than Buffer). Fortunately there is a solution in the form of a 3rd party application called "bulk buffer" (just do a Google search for it).

Response: Buffer, Buffer

October 2018

Hi, Jason, thank you for the kind review and honest feedback about our tool. If you are up for sharing, I would love to hear more about the RSS feed. I also hear you regarding the account limits and bulk scheduling. We have heard similar feedback about the account limits and have been thinking about how we could improve that. Thanks again for the feedback.

a good value

Pros

Buffer is a good value for social media management. It does just what I need it to and it doesn't break the bank.

Cons

It doesn't have a lot of cons to it. I might be nice if they added curated content sharing.

Buffer review

This software save my time in publishing on all social platforms.

Pros

What I like about buffer is Pablo and its publishing feature. The interface is quite simple and I can simply create & share my posts on social media multiple accounts. It significantly save my time

Cons

I think they should move toward being complete social media management software. I have to invest in Statusbrew to use other features apart from publishing

Response: Buffer, Buffer

Hi, Deepika, thank you for the review and feedback. You might be pleased to find out that we have been working towards being a more complete social media management tool. Besides Buffer Publish (used to be known as Buffer), we also have Buffer Reply, a social media engagement and customer service tool (https://buffer.com/reply/), and Buffer Analyze, a social media reporting and analytics tool, which is in beta now (https://buffer.com/analyze). Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about them.

Great Tool for Social Posting

Pros

Just being able to schedule posts in advance is huge benefit and being able to do it for multiple channels in one place is even better. The best part is there are free options that would be very helpful to most small business owners.

Cons

It seems like accounts will lose their connection to buffer for no reason and then you have to re-connect them before you can post.

Love it

Pros

I love Buffer! It allows me to schedule posts across all my social platforms. If I did not have Buffer, I know that I would not have over 1/2 the content that I do now.

Cons

I have not found any cons with this application. It's pretty straight forward, and I love that there is a chrome extension, allowing me to share across all platforms through Chrome.

Such an awesome software for post scheduling. One of the best in Market.

If you are a Digital Marketer or an online page manager who dont want to waste time on posting at multiple places, Buffer is the solution you need. Now even you can schedule posts on Instagram via Buffer, what can be better than this.

Pros

User Interface is super awesome.
Post Scheduling and the Delivery rate is extremely good.
You can even schedule Instagram posts now.

Cons

Reach on Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram is quite low when you post via 3rd party apps like buffer.
More multimedia option should be provided. Like for eg: posting a gif is quite hard.

Response: Buffer, Buffer

October 2018

Hi, Ankit, thank you for the review and honest comments. I was curious if you are up for sharing more about the lower reach when posting via third party apps? I would love to get more data and understand it better. Thank you. -Alfred

Good for Team Posting

Pros

The ability to post on multiple platforms, to schedule posts ahead of time, to set reminders for team members to review posts before submission.

Cons

The inability to engage with users of the platform (I had to log in to the individual platforms to respond to comments).

Easy Social Media Management for Multiple Platforms

The team that we set up Buffer for was really happy with it and the ability to pre-plan social media posts at the beginning of the week. It really saves you a lot of time, so you don't need to think about it every day.

Pros

The scheduling tools in Buffer are really well done. They provide great insights into your social media posts to help you understand not only which posts are getting interactions but also *why* they are. I helped set up Buffer posts for a small startup on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and I liked how you could add customizations to each one based on the platform.

Cons

I had a bit of trouble with posts defaulting to times that didn't make sense to me, so you have to make sure that you're checking everything before submitting it. Once you get used to the platform its not so bad but it does take a minute to understand that.

Response: Buffer, Buffer

October 2018

Thanks for the awesome review, John. So cool to hear that you've set up Buffer for another company. I'm sorry about the oddities of the times. We do suggest a few default times for newly connected accounts, and you can change them in your posting schedule. Hope this helps clarify things a little.

So easy and helpful!

Our company just started using Buffer recently but we all love it so far. Their tech team has been very helpful and friendly when we have questions. I would highly recommend this Buffer over other social media scheduling software.

Pros

I love that scheduling my posts is so simple. They can be rearranged easily, the posts can be scheduled to multiple platforms at once. The 'customize for each network' feature is especially helpful when using multiple platforms.

Cons

Unfortunately, events can't be tagged when scheduling posts.

Response: Buffer, Buffer

October 2018

Thanks so much for this great review, Chelsea! I'm sorry that we can't tag events at the moment as I believe Facebook doesn't allow third-party tools to do that yet. Hopefully that changes in the future.

Good program for posting to multiple social media accounts

Pros

It's pretty easy to use and is convenient to set up posts in advance

Cons

If you want to make a change to a post, you need to go into each post for each social media account. Also, can't have my personal and business LinkedIn on the free account.

Response: Buffer, Buffer

October 2018

Hi, Tanya, thank you for the review and feedback. I believe we don't have the bulk editing ability at the moment because each social media platform is unique and posts to different social media platforms should be unique, too. That said, there might be ways we can make editing several posts easier. Thanks again for the feedback. -Alfred

Streamline your social media

I found trying to posts to different media platforms was taking too much effort and time but with Buffer, I could schedule all y posts across facebook, pinterest and twitter ahead of time (I do it each Sunday for the week) and it gives me flexibility with my time because I know my social media is taken care of and I don't have to think about it every day

Pros

Allows me to easily streamline your social media posts across platforms

Cons

I think for the free version there are limitations on how many posts you can schedule ahead of time

Response: Buffer, Buffer

October 2018

Hi, Megan, thank you for the kind review. I'm glad to hear that Buffer is able to take care of your social media. Yes, you're right; on the free plan, users can schedule up to 10 posts for every social media account at any given time. -Alfred

Don't Be Caught Without A Buffer!

Buffer is one of those go-to's for anyone who uses social media and would love to have posts, images, etc. ready to be sent out at a certain day or time. However, I would only advise you get Buffer if you have a healthy following because the free version is very limited. You have to pay in order to play.

Pros

I love that you can schedule several posts in advance for whatever social media group, page, etc. you are using.

Cons

The free version only allows you one social media page, group, etc. at a time. You really have to pay in order to use it to the full advantage, but the price is only worth it if you have a good following going.

Response: Buffer, Buffer

October 2018

Hi, Brooke, thank you for the honest review of Buffer. Sorry that we might not have made it clear. You can schedule to multiple social media accounts at once even on the free plan, and connect multiple, example, Facebook Pages, as long as the total number of connected accounts is below three. Hope this helps to clarify things.
