It's ok, but I am looking for another solution.

Pros

Easy to get your social media lined up for long periods of time. Good overview of all your channels.

Cons

Lots of bugs, unable to cue giphies in twitter feed, sometimes things post completely wrong or links don't work. Customer service doesn't always seem to know how to help either.

We use Hootsuite for our small business, it helps us keep track of each social media platform we use and allows us to post via PC or phone. It's quite helpful and useful for beginners and businesses. I would recommend this product to anybody.

Pros

Multi-Platform functions, Free to Use, The Free features are still useful, Can buy into the product but its not necessary, Tells you the requirements for each social media platform. PC & Phone friendly.

Cons

Sometimes after an update it bugs and won't notify you when there is a post to publish. On the Free version you can only post to the most popular/basic platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.

Pros

The great thing about Hootsuite is that you can post to multiple social media sites with one click. In addition, being able to schedule your posts in advance allows you to have a greater presence on your sites.

Cons

The Hootsuite dashboard in general is confusing and not very user friendly. It took me quite awhile to figure out how to create a post. Additionally, you can't preview a post before sending it out...this has created many problems for me. For example, after posting to Facebook, I've checked the post directly on FB and noticed an error. I then had to edit the post in FB, which could have been avoided if I was able to preview the post on Hootsuite.

I wish you could schedule to Instagram from the desktop app, but I realize that's a shortcoming with Instagram itself and not Hootsuite.

Pros

Very robust features--ability to search for mentions of your company or any topic to get involved with people and meet new followers, ability to see comments on facebook ads and respond in the app, the ability to respond to anything sent your way on your social media all in one place, bulk scheduling with spreadsheets, ability to manage many platforms at once, and more. I love Hootsuite.

Cons

The main con is that I wish Hootsuite had scheduling features like Buffer. Buffer allows you to setup a schedule rather than having to post everything manually, and it's super easy to recycle posts. For example, Buffer will tell you when the best posting times are either set up a posting schedule for you based on your desired frequency, or allow you to set one up (like post on facebook at 3PM every Tuesday and 10am every Friday etc.). Also, buffer's chrome extension will pull images in addition to the URL, and I wish Hootsuite did the same.

Value for Money

Hootsuit was good for what it was. I am now using Hearsay which is integrated into my packaged options for my company. I would use Hootsuit if it were an option over Hearsay.

Pros

I like that I can post directly to my facebook profile, and I didn't have the option of only posting to my page

Cons

The price was a little too high for a stand alone products

Advice to Others

Hootsuit is probably the better choice if you want to post to your profile, not your page.

They give me a bunch of features for running my non-profit more effectively and efficiently.
One of the coolest aspects that they offer is the ability for me to post my different social media accounts at different times. This saves me a ton of time and then I never forget. I'm able to schedule out far in advance, so if I have a big announcement that I won't be releasing for a few weeks, I can write it, figure out the best time to post, then have it ready to post in the Queue awaiting the day; and I can get that off my mind entirely.

Likes Least

Hootsuite feels a bit dated for me. I've been using it a few years and am very familiar with everything they offer. Maybe it's just because I'm familiar with the platform, but I feel they have the opportunity to really help businesses and people grow their following, beyond what is made available by them. I don't really know what that x-factor may be, but I know it's missing it.

Recommendations

It's a great platform. Give it a try and you won't have to spend a dollar. If you think it's a great fit for you and your needs, then great! If not, then no harm no foul. If you're not very familiar with the whole social media management thing, then you can look at their academy or just general help posts and blog articles. It was great for me as I didn't really know too much about the social media game!

They offer an endless variety of features on how to better and more time efficiently manage an array of social media accounts.
As social media continues to get larger and larger with new players in the market practically every day, you have 2 choices, higher someone to manage your entire social media strategy and spend every hour of the work week posting things - or - get a utility like hootsuite to easily let you share the best you have to offer to every social media medium all at once (or even spread throughout the day as I preferred to do)

They do a great job of making sure everything is easy and straightforward to use. For those who aren't as privy to the digital age, they offer free courses on social media management and a hootsuite certification (a bit useless for me, but I could see how some people would benefit largely from it)

Likes Least

They really offer quite a bit of features so there's isn't much to dislike, but if I were to nitpick Hootsuite, it would be around their website design (User interaction and experience) and the lack of advanced analytics.
While I understand hootsuite was never meant to be an analytics service, there are many other services that offer a little less on the social media management side, and a little more on the analytics. Depending on what you're looking to use Hootsuite for, this could mean nothing to you (if you already have analytics for your posts or if you are just a social media celebrity and you don't plan on marketing products to people)

Recommendations

If you only have 1-3 social media accounts, then Hootsuite may not be for you. Use Hootsuite if you can determine you'll save valuable time by using another service to easily push out updates across your platform. As the number of accounts you have grows, so does the time it takes to manage all of them. This is a great tool to maximize your social media efficiency, but don't think it can do everything!

I love the ability to streamline scheduling and the management of posts across multiple social channels. I have used Hootsuite for several clients and have found the interface simple and easy to use. Social channels are separated and easy to manage and monitor activity. Great having it all in one place!

Likes Least

The Instagram integration isn't THAT great - but optimistic for improvements in the near future! Yes at first the interface can seem a little overwhelming, but after you familiarize yourself with it you will LOVE how much time it saves you from searching across channels.

Recommendations

Consider the types of social channels you or your business use/manage - it's a great tool to stay organized and spend less time scheduling/posting.

Hootsuite offers social media management in a complex way. As a virtual assistant, this software is very helpful in streamlining the social media management for my clients. I love that not only can you schedule items to post, but you can also monitor the activity on your social media accounts as well.

Likes Least

I struggle with feeling overwhelmed when using Hootsuite. With so many offerings, it can be challenging to know how to complete some tasks. It feels too complex sometimes.

Recommendations

I would suggest giving the free version a try for a few weeks to find if Hootsuite is a good fit for your business needs. It is complex, which is good and challenging. Start with some simple posting and scheduling if you are overwhelmed by the options available.

The best thing about Hootsuite is that it does what it was designed to do exceptionally well. Everything else it may or may not do is beside the point. Hootsuite allows you to release to multiple social platforms at once saving you a lot of time and effort. Simple. Effortless to connect your media streams, no APIs to track down no setup, just sign in and approve.

Likes Least

Really, so far what I like least about Hootsuite is some of the wording on the interface that makes it a little less friendly (e.g: "Delete Stream" instead of "Close Stream" - delete seems final and destructive - close much more friendly) Sometimes its the little things.

Recommendations

Ignore the bells and whistles and just look at what it does without effort.

It was very easy to schedule social media posts so that I didn't need to think about it. It also supported every platform (except Instagram) that we were marketing on and was easy to post a custom message to each at the same time.

Likes Least

Maybe we just didn't utilize every feature properly, but I found the tool a bit overcomplicated in the reporting/news feed aspect. We also had some issues posting on certain platforms. We would schedule a post and find awhile later that it never actually posted for whatever reason and we weren't notified that the post did not go out.

Recommendations

Its great for someone who is looking to coordinate all your social media efforts in one place. After using Hootsuite for awhile, we were content but decided to switch to an all in one marketing platform as to simply the number of tools we used.

A Great Tool for Managing Multiple Social Media Accounts

If you manage multiple social media accounts for a company or multiple companies, Hootsuite makes it easy to stay up to date and organized. Their system integrates with the most popular social media platforms. As an individual you can use Hootsuite with up to three social media integrations for free.

The best quality of this product is the ability to schedule out messages. You can set up your Facebook, Google +, Twitter (and more) posts a week or more ahead of time so that you do not need to think about it for a while. This will definitely increase your efficiency and decrease the amount of time spent doing social media marketing.

Likes Least

The interface can be confusing for new users. It does take a while to fully understand how to use the platform and what the analytics mean.

Recommendations

Hootsuite charges clients by the number of social media profiles they are connecting and by number of users. With this pricing structure, the monthly cost of an account for an agency can add up very quickly. You'll have to determine whether the benefits of having all social media information in one place outweighs the high cost.

Pros

Hootsuite integrates varied social media platforms well, or at least as well as can be expected considering the different platform's APIs.

Cons

The interface gets cluttered quickly, but the biggest problem is the free account's limitations and the steep curve on the pricing structure. A paid plan simply isn't an option for most non-profit work.

Peace of mind, ability to save time (and time equals money), client "WOW" factor of having a filled content feed, ability to generate new clients using first site as an example. Hootsuite basically prints money for you if you use it correctly.

Pros

The best part is being able to take messages and save them in draft form, then schedule similar posts for future days. Being able to block out an hour or two a month to set up hundreds of postings is extremely valuable, and supplements the strategy of content marketing extremely well.

Manually posting content is extremely tiresome - Hootsuite makes content posting much more palatable.

Cons

There are some UI wonkiness that is annoying - such as when dragging an image into a post, where it can glitch. It would seem obvious to include more ways to post things routinely, however saving as a draft and clicking post over and over seems to be the other way.

I love that this software has a clean, organized look, and provides a way to look back on posts that went out, etc. We have had very few problems.

Cons

We cannot schedule out multiple photo posts.it will post multiple times, once per photo. This is a challenge since we have to go through the platform itself.

It saved our business time and money because we could manage multiple accounts in one location, change messaging, scheduling posts and check feedback for each account.

Pros

Having the ability to make automatic and scheduled posting to various social networks in one location is a lifesaver for any small business trying to market themselves. Hootsuite gives you the ability to skim a few extra minutes hours from your day with a centralized social media hub. Allowing you to change your messaging from one place to the next without skipping a beat. Hootsuite is a must for anyone managing multiple social accounts.

Cons

That they took away the feature to find stories by key words and then schedule those stores to go out through your network.

Pros

Its characteristics are excellent to carry different social networks in the same platform, this is for people who carry multiple applications of the same person or company, it becomes easier to have them all day.

Cons

It presents some performance failures when hanging up in one of the social networks, which does not allow upload some content and forces the user to leave the application which interrupts the process of constant use of the user if necessary.

Pros

I liked that I could schedule posts across multiple platforms in advance-- key when working with multiple companies and raising small children!

Cons

I wish I could've connected more accounts through the free version. The product is often marketed as "free", but is quite limited if you're truly using it to manage multiple accounts. The actual interface wasn't as user-friendly as some of the other apps/software I've used.
