I had heard of MailChimp before and just disregarded it as another mailing software; now that I've used it, though, I recommend it to everyone!

Pros

MailChimp is incredibly easy to use! Even someone with limited experience can create a sophisticated newsletter, announcement, or campaign using this software. I love that MailChimp allows me to send test emails and reviews multiple times what's being sent to whom, eliminating some of the anxiety of sending a mass email!

Cons

As with any software, there's a learning curve as you adjust to where everything's at, which buttons do what, and how to get exactly the look you're imagining. I wish MailChimp had more of a graphic design component to it, but it's easy to use other softwares and import things into your campaigns anyway.

Value for Money

Pros

The drop-and-drag design functionality makes it easy to customize emails, and also comes with great built-in templates so you don't have to start from scratch. The integration with Salesforce is very helpful since it allows for information to be synced and up-to-date without having to manually check records all the time. Ease of use with running reports for analytics and benchmarking is also a great feature. Customer service, especially the live chat, is very helpful and they are quick, responsive, and knowledgeable.

Cons

If you are not familiar with how the integrations (such as Salesforce) sync with MailChimp, keeping track of records can be difficult. Learning the advanced options takes more time if you're not familiar with how workflow rules apply.

Great option for those with a limited budget as the free option provides a lot of functionality. If you are able to afford a paid version, the additional features can be helpful but are not necessary. Many pre-loaded template options assist those who are not used to graphic design.

Pros

Ease of use, premade templates, easy integrations with other software, automated management of lists.

Cons

No major complaints about the program. Some of the additional features are really not necessary so if you just want a simple newsletter or email system, there are a lot of functions you will not use.

Great app. Best email platform in the industry. If you're not using MailChimp, you're not using MailChimp!

Pros

So easy to use. Drag and drop features are awesome. Integration with other apps are fabulous. Agency feature streamlines all accounts to be manageable.

Cons

Some features are placed where they make sense, but it's not until you stumble upon them that you find them. For example, I had trouble manually adding subscribers to a workflow. I got it eventually but small things like that where practice makes perfect. Also, my company tried for months to have a conversation with MailChimp to talk about a partnership... But they would only accept emails to communicate. We were talking serious business and it seemed impossible to really grab their attention.

MailChimp is great. But, with that said, take the time to consider where you're going as a company. Will it fulfill your needs in a year?

Pros

MailChimp is as advertised, simple, high-performance, affordable email marketing. The email builder is truly world-class, no HTML or CSS knowledge needed. Email deliverability is excellent. I'm really not sure email marketing can be easier than MailChimp. If your email marketing needs are basic, this is probably the best option on the market for you.

Cons

While they've made progress on automation and nurturing, it's still limited and not as flexible as other true marketing automation solutions. Many people don't need to develop complex nurturing streams and buyer journeys, for those people, MailChimp is fantastic. For those who do (or just as importantly, plan to grow into it) this can eventually restrict your growth.

Please inform users before blocking services. Since many users don't read your policies. Atleast give them a notification so they can save themselves before the time runs out.

Pros

Forever Free Plan! for 2000 contacts. Mailchimp is awesome in the way it helps small organizations to fulfill the demands at no cost. Moreover it can used easily by the novices as well.

Cons

It definitely lacks support and softness. The way it blocks data and bar user to use services, without telling the absolute reason. I still remember last time i contacted mailchimp, it took them 10 days to revert and still the case is not resolved.

All in all it is a great product for marketing purposes. We use it to advertise our events linked to Eventbrite and for our monthly newsletter.

Pros

It is an easy product for someone who doesn't have a graphic design background to use and finesse out for their particular needs. The ability to import and export lists is good. The templates on display are great.

Cons

Not necessarily MailChimps fault but the new privacy laws make it difficult to import large lists. Have to work around that one. Could do with a few more nice fonts to choose from.

Pros

I've used Mailchimp before for personal purposes and, in terms of getting mass messaging out in an efficient manner, Mailchimp worked tolerably well.

Cons

Since I used it to distribute newsletters, I found it difficult to correctly format the html and often had to send several tests of my message before coming up with something that would look good in MailChimp. It's possible this would have happened regardless of the provider, but I'd appreciate it if there were more of a "preview" in MailChimp before sending.

MailChimp is the value email platform

Ease-of-use

Functionality

Value for Money

MailChimp is a great value. I looked at several others who wanted to charge me a lot more for the number of emails I send. MailChimp's pricing is simple and is based on the size of your list rather than the number of emails you send. So, you don't have to scrimp on reaching your customers due to cost.

The support is just OK. I've been on MailChimp for several months and I still stumble across things I can do that I didn't know before. There seems to be no sales/marketing team to guide you along the way. I'd really like to start doing some more advanced emails based on customer behavior. So, I'll be looking for alternatives to at least supplement MailChimp. If you're just looking to blast out newsletters, you can't go wrong with MailChimp though.

Pros

The pricing is great
Fairly easy to use
Many integrations with lots of other solutions
Great for blasting to your list

Cons

Support is just OK- no phone support on most plans
No assistance in finding how to use advanced features
Segmentation is pretty rudimentary

MailChimp simplified my sending out of newsletters and makes sure they don't end up in Spam.

Pros

MailChimp runs really well and is free when sending out less than 10,000 emails a month. You get a WYSIWYG editor, can include pictures, links and all the bells and whistles. You can ensure that you send out a mobile friendly version in addition to the traditional email formatted for large computer screens, add a sign up form to your website, connect your emailing campaign to your social media accounts and so much more. I have been using this service for years and love it.

Cons

The only downside is that there is no offline app for mac or windows (your browsers offline mode may work - but I never tested this with Safari) and there is no simple straight forward way to sync mailchimp lists (the email contacts) with other contact databases or apps (there are ways but not straightforward).

I can build and send email flyers quickly and easily. They go out exactly when planned and send to everyone right away, unlike other services which can take hours to send to large lists and end up missing the anticipated delivery time.

Pros

Mailchimp makes it easy to send email campaigns - to me that's there biggest strength. It's easy to upload new lists in multiple ways, it's easy to build/edit your mailers and it's easy to send.

Cons

While they are not the most expensive campaign service out there, they are still a little pricey for larger lists (small lists up to 2000 emails are free though!)

Pros

I love the pricing structure the most. You don't have to pay until you get over 2000 subscribers. If you have over 2000 subscribers, and you can't afford the price, then there is something wrong with your business model, and not MailChimp.

Pros

This software is very intuitive to use, you can watch or read a few tutorials and be proficient enough to get campaigns off the ground. You can easily export HTML's if a partner account is sending one out on behalf of your company. It's also easy to add videos, links, etc. without triggering spam filters so open rates aren't affected much.

Cons

Pricing structure. I am in a business where many people are on multiple lists, and they count as multiple users. Also, it charges you based on the peak of the month vs. average, so if we upload new subscriber names at once, it can skyrocket your rate. It also doesn't let you filter within certain distance of a zip code. For example, if you just want to target people in a certain city, you have to manually pull the data.

Pros

I really like that if you want to send emails to less than 2000 people or addresses; it is free to use!

Cons

I don't like that there seems to be some glitches that prevent you from customizing the templates the way you really want them to work. The campaigns seem a little confusing too and not very user friendly.

Easy to market to large lists of people that sign up for "newsletter".

Pros

Easy to get e-mail marketing out to those that signup which directs them back to website for increased clicks. Very easy to use once you understand the features and benefits.

Cons

Takes a little to get used to but one can simply watch a YouTube video on the "how-to". After watching one YouTube video on how to use Mailchimp I became very skilled at using it.

I can easily design and manage marketing emails for my different clients using MailChimp. And there are many options and features that help me make good decisions.

Pros

I really love the clean design.. it's very easy to use because of that. Lots of nice templates to work with for different clients with different needs. I am also always informed about their new features, through their emails, of course!

Cons

Pricing for small to medium businesses could be a little out of reach. Aside from that, there's not much to really complain about.
