  • Pros

  • On top of all of the capabilities of this software and the awesome interface, Carestream also has additional devices that are a must have for the software that can make your practice so much better.
  • The ease of use and the fact that their technical support team is hands down, one of the best, if not the best help I've had. Very patient with me or any other team member that has to call them.
  • Cs Softdent has been a great, friendly experience in more ways than one. I got the opportunity to join the Carestream family in Texas at the Natural summit in 2019.
  • Cons

  • Horrible customer service, Completely dishonest (still states that there program integrates with Dexis) while it does not. Use any other dental software program except SoftDent.
  • Softdent has horrible error checking, uses a weird proprietary database back end that does not work at all.
  • The lack of included features makes CS SoftDent inferior to other dental software that I have experience with.

  • This EHR system has a lot of great features and the customer service and support are great. Definitely better interface than our old EHR system and notes are organized in a way that's easy to review.
  • Great support when we switched over from Exam Writer and continued support to this day after years of use. I absolutely love how intuitive the iPad is making it easy for new staff to learn.
  • The ability to import prescription medications from the patient's pharmacy is a great timesaver and enhances accuracy.
  • Cons

  • Product is incomplete and does not offer basic features expected in a practice management program...i.e. It does not calculate receipts so there is no way to track your gross net income over time.
  • The practice management software is the worse I have ever dealt with by leaps and bounds. One month later and it isn't communicating with it's insurance sister VSP.
  • Can not see previous cd or iop when you are entering current data, have to back out two screens then go back in (terrible for glaucoma or medical patients).
