Zeffy is all-in-one nonprofit fundraising software, built for small and medium organizations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland and Australia: charities, schools and parent teacher associations, churches, sports teams, food banks, animal rescues and grassroots community groups. Nonprofits keep 100% of every donation. There is no platform fee, no transaction fee, no credit card fee, no monthly subscription and no setup cost. Donors can give on Zeffy by credit card, bank transfer (ACH in the United States, pre-authorized debit in Canada, SEPA in Germany), Apple Pay or Google Pay, from any device. Nonprofits can add a donate button to an existing website, sell tickets in person with Tap to Pay on a smartphone with no card reader, share a QR code at an event, publish a donation hub that brings all their campaigns onto one page, and show progress with a fundraising thermometer. Zeffy generates and sends tax receipts automatically, including IRS-compliant receipts for US 501(c)(3) organizations, CRA-compliant receipts in Canada, and Gift Aid submission to HMRC through Charities Online in the United Kingdom, at no additional cost. Zeffy's donor CRM holds one record per supporter with their giving history, event attendance, memberships, store purchases, email engagement, notes and tags. There is no per-contact pricing as the database grows. Existing contacts and history can be imported from a spreadsheet, a CSV or a Mailchimp export, and data syncs with QuickBooks Online or Zapier, or through Zeffy's open API and webhooks. They PROACTIVELY reach out if they see you try something and it wasn't completed, to make sure you don't need assistance. They tailor their platform to the needs of non-profits. And they're just awesome people to work with! #### Cons NOTHING! There is absolutely NOTHING negative. I love Zeffy! I think more non-profits should use Zeffy! #### Reasons for switching to Zeffy CONSTANT 'updating' terms to the benefit of PayPal and the DETRIMENT of the nonprofit. Like charging their fees EVEN IF the donor was refunded. For example - an emergency fundraiser gets held for an animal needing urgent surgery. The animal dies and only a fraction of the cost is incurred so donors are offered to get their donations back. MOST will refuse and say put it towards the mission but often donors felt like they were just supporting THAT animal and ask for the money back. Not only does PayPal keep the TRANSACTION FEE (which I totally agree with that) but they keep the PERCENTAGE. If someone donates $1000, the fee is $20.80. So if the donor wants a refund, PayPal KEEPS that "percentage" even though 1.99% of $0 is $0. I need to explore more with "volunteer management" and "staff management." Not really sure what services are available in those realms. The interface is easy to use, pretty intuitive... and honestly, quite robust for a free product (free for us!). #### Cons Hmmmmm.... That's hard to say. We had an issue during set up for one of our events..... We didn't realize that to have two separate bank accounts, you would need to set it up as two different organizations in the system. The bad news is that we had already created a whole entire event under one profile.... and then had to go back and re-create that event under the other profile because there is no option to "duplicate events between profiles." The second thing that is a drawback is when I set up e-mails to go out to large groups, it will bounce back the whole lot sometimes. I understand that I need to integrate it with our web-hosting site... but I tried and it was difficult. And I am usually *pretty technically savvy.* But, I wasn't able in that case... #### Reasons for choosing Zeffy Cost effectiveness of this product versus Bloomerang. It isn't exactly the same level of options..... There tools are very user friendly. #### Cons I have not had any bad experience with Zeffy and MOST of our non-profit is managed through them. The fee elimination has saved us and our donors tens of thousands of dollars. The customer service is phenomenal and quick to respond, the campaign creation is seamless and intuitive and customizable, and I never worry about if or when we'll receive our funds. You can use it as a CRM to email your customer base if you'd like, and you can track so many performance metrics. #### Cons Can't say there's anything I don't like. Maybe that it's another platform to manage? In other words, there are no barriers (eg, expense, tech complications, etc) I had to surmount! Since I have few resources, and no tech team, I VERY much appreciate the lack of barriers! My non-profit (EducationEquity Foundation, which provides free MCAT Prep to low-income underrepresented premeds, taught by peer tutors who recently scored VERY well on their own MCATs) hasn't yet pursued donations much, so I have little to add about its performance. I've heard its performance is great, but I haven't used it much. (So far, that is. I plan to step up our fundraising game this summer. Up to now, I've been focused mainly on developing content - the nonprofit was essentially a 1-man band [ie, ME], so it has had limited bandwidth.
