In other words, there are no barriers (eg, expense, tech complications, etc) I had to surmount! Since I have few resources, and no tech team, I VERY much appreciate the lack of barriers! My non-profit (EducationEquity Foundation, which provides free MCAT Prep to low-income underrepresented premeds, taught by peer tutors who recently scored VERY well on their own MCATs) hasn't yet pursued donations much, so I have little to add about its performance. I've heard its performance is great, but I haven't used it much. (So far, that is. I plan to step up our fundraising game this summer. Up to now, I've been focused mainly on developing content - the nonprofit was essentially a 1-man band \[ie, ME\], so it has had limited bandwidth. But now, volunteers have joined!) Every prior platform eventually had issues we had to work around, we also don't have complex needs. I can manage my donors, receive donations, create and schedule my newsletters and fundraising campaigns which can be correctly targeted, and now we're getting to sell event tickets as well! Cons: I do sometimes find it hard to figure out where a feature is, or how to properly use it. But we are a 100% volunteer based organization so if I were a professional I feel like I might have more knowledge or time to better understand some of the more advanced features and take advantage of them. They PROACTIVELY reach out if they see you try something and it wasn't completed, to make sure you don't need assistance. Absolutely the best customer support I have ever seen. They tailor their platform to the needs of non-profits. And they're just awesome people to work with! Cons: NOTHING! There is absolutely NOTHING negative. I love Zeffy! I think more non-profits should use Zeffy! Reasons for switching to Zeffy CONSTANT 'updating' terms to the benefit of PayPal and the DETRIMENT of the nonprofit. Like charging their fees EVEN IF the donor was refunded. For example - an emergency fundraiser gets held for an animal needing urgent surgery. The animal dies and only a fraction of the cost is incurred so donors are offered to get their donations back. MOST will refuse and say put it towards the mission but often donors felt like they were just supporting THAT animal and ask for the money back. Not only does PayPal keep the TRANSACTION FEE (which I totally agree with that) but they keep the PERCENTAGE. If someone donates $1000, the fee is $20.80. So if the donor wants a refund, PayPal KEEPS that "percentage" even though 1.99% of $0 is $0. So the nonprofit PAYS $20 t PayPal for... nothing. Read More DH Debbie H. They are continuously looking for ways to improve the platform, and are open for your feedback on what your needs are, so that's really all that matters! Secondly, it keeps getting bought out by bigger companies, and the personal touch (customer service) became very difficult and really non-existent.
