The tiered pricing model is a huge plus—it allows us to pay exactly for what we need without getting locked into expensive features we won't use. #### Cons The only significant downside I encountered was the data migration process. Getting our existing data into the system from our previous platform was a challenge. The developers are pretty meticulous about making regular updates #### Reasons for choosing VolunteerLocal In addition to ease of use, better features, and price- we chose VolunteerLocal because it offered one unique platform for all the things we needed.You can sign up, check-in, sign waivers, and save documents on one platform. And the best part of all is that, volunteers can be given an option to contribute and make donations to the cause during registration or after they have completed their service. And what is great about VolunteerLocal is that there is an integrated payment processing platform that allows volunteers to give more than just their time. And because it is presented as an auxiliary and optional feature, volunteers neither feel pressured to donate nor have to struggle to give if they want to. #### Cons The reporting and analytics features are quite inadequate. Excellent training videos are available to use at any time. Knowledgeable and helpful staff who handle training and follow-up very well. The ability to populate a current event from a previous event is valuable. Archived volunteer information is always avaiable. #### Cons I can't think of any. I made an error on the application that was impossible for me to figure out, but [sensitive content hidden] and his team of developers got my mess sorted out and everyone back on track in a matter of days. #### Cons Perosnally, I love the customizing aspect of VolLocal, but a few of my colleagues who aren't so web-savvy don't understand the lingo and can get very confused. The only other (very minor) improvement I'd like is for the event logo to resize itself to the 300px necessary. I'm told that's how you make a system more intuitive. I know it also makes each operation longer. From the very start, the team at VL have helped me learn the system, make the most of its functionality and troubleshoot when something isn't right. They have a rare combination of both patience with the time I need to learn or fix issues, and a sense of urgency when I need their help fixing something quickly. With event duplication, I save endless hours of re-creating jobs and shifts for annual events. I've worked with systems that would clone the general event information, but Volunteer Local is set up to re-create jobs and shift details. For a 500-shift event, that saves an enormous amount of work. #### Cons The next areas I'd love Volunteer local to develop would be a volunteer survey function within the system, the ability to attach training documents right to pre-shift emails, and a more elegant design of the end-user pages. However, if prettier pages increased the monthly cost of VL, I'd probably pass.
