monday.com is a cloud-based project management solution that caters to small to midsize businesses across various industry verticals. The solution helps them manage different projects and facilitate knowledge-sharing among team members.

monday.com offers a collaborative environment that allows project members to communicate, create a knowledge base and share files, images, designs and other specifications.

monday.com can be integrated with various third-party applications such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Pipedrive, Google Calendar, JIRA, MailChimp and others. The system also lets users share specific information with external guests such as clients or freelancers.

monday.com uses the REST JSON API. This API lets users handle cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) requests. Developers can customize monday.com according to their needs.

Services are offered on a monthly subscription basis that includes support via phone, email and other online resources.

I really like the simplicity of this product for what it is. The online tutorials are young and modern. Works on phones as seamlessly as your computer. Great collaboration tool that everyone on the team can understand without a degree in project management.

Pros

Very easy to use, and the visuals don't hide anything. Punch lists are clean and functional. Easy to collaborate with teams. Assignments are clear, and status is simple like a traffic stop light.

Cons

Not full functional like a feature project management software. Limited capabilities for extended or complex planning. Calendaring timeline is super basic.

Which I found very useful and important for my business is that you are able to see what people are doing on a big and complete calendar. We are a small business with 5 workers, so it's very helpful to see what each person is doing and needs to do in the future. It's also very friendly for a design or marketing company.

Cons

I found it a bit expensive, since is very similar as Trello and you can use Trello for free to a certain point. If you are able to pay for each person, I find Monday very useful and I think you won't regret to use it for your business.

The boards are templatized, I didn't see an easy way to collect all info by client. Isn't a value/freelancer level plan so someone with low initial revenue may be better off starting in a different platform or tracking manually.

Odd names. Dapulse was weird. So let's call it Monday? It seemed a little bit pricey at first for me to get what I want, but it's not when compared to anything else. It's just my brain telling me simplicity should be cheaper than something that you have to take an onboarding course to use. But it's just better designed.

Pros

As far as project management for small teams, Monday (dapulse) is about perfect. I went from Trello which didn't do enough to Asana which required some not insignificant onboarding and ended up being more than my rotating squad could handle, to this simple, customizable, and colorful whatever-you-want platform. Never heard a complaint.

If your department is struggling with lists, excel spreadsheets and other schedules that are all never accessible in one area, then this is a tool you must consider. You can make the different boards however you would like and it really does allow your team to get better organized and this is accessible from anywhere which is a HUGE plus. It is a great product and I hope to see more advancements and features added in the near future.

Pros

This was a great tool for my department to help manage numerous projects and allow everyone to easily adjust the status and schedule for all of our marketing efforts. It helped streamline all of our projects into one area for viewing and my department could show sales our forecast for email campaigns, print/web ads and internal company marketing materials we had planned. The software is very user friendly and can be customized as needed. Before this tool, we had excel spreadsheets and/or schedules that were all in a variety of places and made it hard to visually show our entire marketing schedule.

Cons

This has been a great tool for keeping track of different schedules and projects however I think that the tool can further be expanded to help with marketing outreach. Monday.com has done a great job with providing updates to new features but I would like to see what more can be provided for project management.

We use monday.com every single day without fail at our company and it's definitely made out entire workflow process much easier and streamlined. For me personally, I like the fact that it gives me a good overview of the work I need to do, what I'm currently working on and also the work that I've completed.

My team members make good use of the collaboration features and I love how much of info and how in-depth an individual task can go. It's really great knowing that all our work (images, docs, notes, etc) just live on monday.com and not in a million different places.

The user interface is also pretty sleek although it can be a little bit overwhelming for new users but that isn't an issue once they get used to it.

I haven't needed to use their customer support (haha, that's a compliment!) but from what I've read, their support is top notch.

Pros

It has great collaboration features, a nice overview of stuff that you're working on, worked on, or still to work on. Their pricing is very affordable - you definitely get what you pay for and MORE.

Cons

The UI can sometimes look messy and a bit overwhelming. The new name is still taking some time for our team to get used to. For example, it can be a bit confusing when someone from the team says, "I posted it on Monday" and you aren't sure if they meant the day of the week or the software.

As far as positive things to the product - I like the ability to create different boards for various projects. Seeing assigned people's images next to each task is VERY nice.

Cons

I would love to see a way to sort by tasks that are just assigned to me. My job utilizes this to keep campaigns on track, and the ability to sort by my tasks ONLY and go through each and everyone without switching to various boards would be amazing.

Pros

Super flexible, easy to use and easy to implement company wide. We've implemented monday.com for all departments in our company. Implementation has never been easier with other softwares.

Cons

The only thing that is time consuming and not an out of the box product is the time it takes to set it up. It's great on one hand but can be a process to get the pulses and groups the way you want them. However, with that said its no reason not to use it, the payoff is huge.

Recommendations

As a leader, using Monday allows me to track progress against our priorities and supports visibility and collaboration across my team. We've created a few extra task designations like "I'm stuck" or "I'm procrastinating" so others can jump in to help or nudge each other along. We also have one that says "Waiting on Sue" so my team can keep me on track as well! Also, when I need to provide progress updates to my leaders, I can quickly pull information dierctly from Monday. This is a fun, simple tool to keep us organized.

Cons

I haven't had any issues. One suggestion I'd have is to have the ability for a new group to be created automatically each week, and any pulses not marked as 'done' to be moved into the new week. Right now we do that manually each week. Another suggestion would be to always have pulses designated as high priority default to the top.

I like the layout, it's functionality and given that I'm a graphic designer, I love the colours!
In our business, we are often not all in the office all at the same time so this helps us see who's doing what and where a task or project is up to at a glance with the option of seeing or adding updates to those tasks or projects.
I really like that you can share boards, with guests or collaborators outside the business, without them having access to the other boards.

The monday software/platform has been the best project management/planning I have ever used. The GUI, look and feel, and feature set is amazing. I feel like my projects are more organized than ever and injected accountability aspect to project plans. The Score of 9 is only because of the pricing structure. I will continue to recommend the product to colleagues.

Pros

Best graphic user interface (GUI) and user experience (UX) across all online/mobile project and task management platforms available in the marketplace in 2018. The online (web) experience of a project management/planning tool is my #1 requirement. This includes a product's overall features, usability, GUI, appearance, customization, admin control, group management/control, private/public control, in-group messaging features, etc. I prefer to use my PC/laptop (vs. mobile apps) to create and manage project plans - the online experience with monday easily had me sold. Internet was down one day, and I needed immediate access to a monday project plan. I downloaded the monday mobile app and managed a project via a mobile app for the first time ever. The mobile app look and feel mirrored my URL version...a platform's mobile app is now a key purchasing criteria to me.

Integration with and provisioning for complementary project/team management apps (i.e., Trello) is seamless, elevating the user experience and overall functionally.

As an independent consultant, I appreciated the ability to and ease of sharing select project plan with specific clients though private invitation/authorization options.

The overall customization and personalization possibilities are great. Features such as Color Code options for tasks/items; the ability to add, delete, reorganize/move and customize Task Fields (i.e., Due Dates, Task Owner); and Calendar Views variations are invaluable.

Cons

There is not much to not like about the monday platform. My experience has been so great that I have recommended it to clients and other independent consultants. My clients have provided excellent feedback and praised my choice of project management platform/tool. So, thank you, monday for making me look good!

My only advice to the monday team would be to reconsider pricing options. As an independent consultant, I do have to monitor business expenses. It would be nice to have pricing options for 2 users (admin and a client) for long-term projects with a single client for which you have a single point of contact. Or pricing options where an admin can add one user at a time for a monthly fee and then remove/add users one at a time as needed for ultimate flexibility in plan options and pricing. Sometimes it is key to remember the sole proprietors and small businesses that are out there. We are an undeserved, overlooked market opportunity with limited budgets. So, we tend to seek out and utilize less feature rich free options over amazing paid platforms such as monday. I have the Basic Plan (up to 5 users). I've spent for 2 users to support (User 1 = me as the admin/consultant and User 2 = my primary point of contact at my client/customer with whom I have exclusive contract). I'm forced to pay for 3 extra licenses I can not and will not use. I now must cancel due to the expense. Please rethink price options.

Pros

The user experience is simple and streamlined. It's easy to effectively enter the information you need very quickly and it's laid out in a format where it can be found very easily. The less time spent entering administration information means more time that can used on the task it self. Also love the ability to log on anywhere and the visibility for all team members while being able to assign tasks.

Cons

Nothing so far, everything has functioned as it should. Still discovering some of the features but I have found the experience has only been getting better as we learn more about the functionality of the software.

It allows the versatility to plan and assign tasks according to the personnel I need and the ability to classify them by color for my projects.

Cons

I do not like the cost, much less that you have to make additional payments to get more functions for the use of the program.

We are now able to be more aware of pending problems that might offset our team timely delivery of new projects.

Pros

The most positive part about Monday.com is the ability to connect and share project task with your group. This helps everyone to stay on point for that big project.

Cons

Because we are still at the early stage of startup for our organization, the cost does play a big factor.

We were able to organize our tasks, but ultimately it did not do what we needed it to do overall.

Pros

I like the color coding, and simplicity of the platform. Thank goodness they changed their name, because saying their previous name was mind-blowing in a professional setting.

Cons

Some of the capabilities are a bit out of the box, which in theory sounds good, but ultimately it meant we had to do work arounds for work arounds. There is not a section or ability to choose to see all of someone's tasks on a calendar or in order of due date. It simply shows "all" of someone's tasks, completed or not. Which meant we had to do digging through tasks or remove them when completed, even if that task was part of an overall campaign/pulse.

I love the idea of this platform, and I wanted to love the simplicity of it as well, but using at as an agency just didn't make sense with having to find a work around for everything.

Also, the mobile version is not as robust. I would expect to be able to do the same on mobile as on desktop with how simple the platform is.

Pros

Collaborate with your team easy, on the go all with a click of a button. Whatever the task is you can always customize the software to fit your needs. Templates are offered to help you get a start.

Cons

I could not get my projects to my liking I wish it had more features when it came to labeling the sections but overall its great to stay on tasks with team projects.

What I liked most about this software was that you were able to keep track of tasks easily between team members.

Cons

What I liked least about this software was that the support needed to be a little faster. They responded with great answers but took too long to reply.
